hi sifus, need some recommendation for a car.

im currently working for a sales job and travelling quite frequent.

1. Brand : any except proton if possible
2. Budget : maximum 60k
3. New/Used/Unreg : any
4. Specs : any
5. Transmission : AT
6. NA or FI : any
7. Type : 4 seater and ahead
8. Remarks :
- car with abs at least -i travel quite frequent, around 4k km in a month(approx 600 - 900km per week). So, better quality car would be prefer, less breakdown and issue.
-apart from above, higher RV will be prefer as this car will end up with high mileage(if impossible then ignore it).
-this car will be for use at least 3-5 years and further will depends on my financial that time.

Some consideration on fuel to put mitsubishi attrage in. Assume FC of 20km/l vs other car 14km/l, with that amount of travelling I can save approx RM5k per year on fuel.

is Latio and Sentra suitable for me in this case ?

Of course you may suggest me proton saga or myvi as well if you think it is more suitable.

Anyway, I do think that anyone wanting to buy a car during this period should just wait until January proper thus when registering the car eventhough it is a made in 2013 car but registered in 2014, it is still better than getting a made in 2013 and registered in 2013 car when you're going to sell it down the road in 7/9 years time.

I have an issue with selling off my used car. The first owner bought it with cash...I also bought from her cash..the thing is she didn't pass the invoice...no way I can get her again because she move back Korea.

Myvi to be exact. I tired to trace back to get the invoice..but failed. In other words..no way to retrieve the invoice. How can I go about this? The SA said that it would be hard to sell because there would be trouble if someone want to buy it on loan. I can't blame my parents not getting the invoice back then, they wouldn't know. Hmm I checked with other dealers.. They said it's required by the bank actually. It's a new rule just recently imposed. On another note... Is it wise to buy a car now.. Since its a few days more to 2014. I'm getting a conti and trading in my myvi.
My concern is:
If trade in myvi in 2014,value lower.
If buy conti now, value lower when sell because "2013 car"

Advantages of buying a car in the latest year:
1. You get the latest car (not 1 which they keep in the warehouse or open field which has been abused by all sorts of animals and insects). Less things to worry about.
2. when selling, you have the advantage of a higher market price. Note, you may say it is not important, but once your car falls apart, a higher market value is better to offset your loan. No car lasts forever nowadays.
3. Discounts. A discount of RM 10k is equal to RM 100 installment per month for the next 7 years (give and take on interest rate). So don't fall for the RM 3k discount. coz it won't be much.

I'm actually using my myvi as a down payment.
So its myvi 2014 used price, I assume no rebates for early of the year, VS higher trade in value now and a little rebate but lower RV for my future car.

Better you do it early of the year.

Competition to sell cars are high at year end. So prices will drop. Other factors include people do not know the outlook of the future.

Early of the year, it will bounce back up abit. I have monitored a few car prices before. I thought the prices will drop further. But that is not the case.

Selling to private person is a bit of a hassle but you get additional RM ks for your disposal. Previously i sold my Savvy for RM 22k. Trade in value was RM 16k (back in 2010).

YOu can get rebate / discounts in 2014 for cars manufactured in 2013.

Sometimes the car dealer uses this tactic if you want full or higher percentage of loan becoz under the hire purchase u must pay at least 10% deposit. So if u want to pay lesser than he may have to change the spec of the car to mark up the price. How much did u pay for the deposit/ difference between purchase price and loan?

I am thinking of buying a Myvi either 1.3 standard model or S-series model.

The difference in price is RM3,000 where the standard model has airbag only but the S-series has airbag, bodykit, spoiler, muffler cutter, painted centre cluster.
