hello

[report]

my boyfriend just subscribed to maxis home fibre that's bundled with Astro IPTV
package maxis home fibre package is 10mbps

so i tested speedtest.net got around 9.x mpbs download and 4.x mbps download

but when downloading file it is capped around 200-300 kbps i got the most

torrent file also at the same speed. i lol at him coz my Unifi 5mbps can download at faster speed 500-600 kbps is normal

moral of the story Unifi > all

sekian
[/report]

They do throttle customers from 8pm till 2am.  If you are not a heavy downloader it is probably OK.

I do all my torrenting in the morning... why waste your time download at night due to maxis capping...

usuall after my subuh prayer 6.30am... I will start download movie that I needed.. by 8am I would finish 2 or 3 movies and then off to work...

I don't know for now, and I can't be sure. But based on my personal experience, I relocated sometime back in July/August 2013 (high rise near KL ---> landed unit outside KL), I'm still eligible for RM118 package (as it's just a reallocation, not termination). HOWEVER, you will be charged for reallocation fee (I think RM200, to be reflected in your bill).

I already test for you. Upload very fast, 700kB/s but download back the file from Amazon Cloud, 6~30kB/s nia... Not sure why upload so fast, download so slow.

Maxis is capping the speed to iTunes Radio and netflix. I've been having severe buffering from these 2 sites since last week. When my use DiGi broadband, no buffering at all. What the f*** is happening?

Not sure if relevant - but I can't even stream songs on Spotify without hiccups (even at low-quality!). Currently locked with their 6MBPS line

This is really annoying... It's just basic song streaming! Really regret giving up my earlier Unifi line sad.gif (though I may add that my previous Unifi line was 20MBPS hehe)

It seems that maxis knows the video/audio streaming problems but couldn't rectify it. I believe this has to do with their backend software that throttle p2p. FB video is uselessly slow, and Netflix & Hulu having the same buffering problem too. This has been happening for me for a week now. And checking their support discussion board, they only remedial they ask is to reboot our router. Grrr..

Yup, just want to double check if everyone has the same issue. It has been almost 2 weeks and I get the same reply from Maxis.
