But based on my personal experience, I relocated sometime back in July/August 2013 (high rise near KL ---> landed unit outside KL), I'm still eligible for RM118 package (as it's just a reallocation, not termination). HOWEVER, you will be charged for reallocation fee (I think RM200, to be reflected in your bill).

they are two different thing. If your place have time service, I'd go for Time. haha. Maxis would use TM's fibre but Maxis would manage, Time has their own.

If you need astro iptv, Time might be a better choice than maxis.

file a complaint to SKMM regarding the availability of the port. usually TM or Maxis will have to find a way to make it work.

If Unifi does not have, very high chances Maxis will not have also right?
Another 6 more months and I reach the end of the 24 month contract period. Before switching to Maxis, I exceeded 24 months with Unifi. No idea who to go with after the end of the year. Will go with whoever will give better pricing. At the moment, Maxis is RM 50 less than Unifi for every month.

But the trick that most company like Astro does is to offer you a new "irresistible" package and ultimately you fall into the trap of being tied for another 24 months. That's what happened to me when I shifted house and Astro offered me the 2nd decoder package which tied me up another 24 months.

Yes agreed that Maxis CS sucks. But as with other things that concern technical support, they will still suck too no matter which company you choose. I've resorted to making sure I can trouble shoot myself should anything happen.

Anyway, what kind of lag you're experiencing? High ping times? Playing games? If you are, then Unifi is better. I find Maxis ok because I don't play online games but I am a heavy downloader and can reach 150GB per day. I find most of the problem stems from the stupid Thomson router. I had mind boggling problems with the line disconnecting and reboots when a phone call comes in. The CS was no help. Got rid of router and now I'm bliss.

After signed up with Maxis fibre, you can forget about Astro already. Money saved from Astro subscription can be used to buy streaming devices such as Apple TV, Chromecast, roku3, fire tv, fire stick, android tv box for xbmc, etc etc.... Contents from the internet are so much better then Astro.

Depends on what you want and many other factors. If it's simply the best speed, well then RM248/month for 30Mbps with Maxis is more appealing than RM249/month for 20Mbps with Unifi, assuming you don't care for HyppTV.

If your main activity is torrenting, then better off with unifi since maxis have a FUP (throttling) around 8 PM - 2 AM. I personally don't play games but some people said maxis have high latency. I can't comment much on this.

For me, the reason for using Maxis was the value for money. Paying RM248/month for 30mbps is far better than 20mbps with HyppTV which I don't utilised. I have a VPN account so torrenting during the FUP hour is not a problem for me. Most important is that I get full speed. I don't use XBMC but I use popcorn time to get my fix of latest movie and tv series.

I subscribe to our local BolehVPN. Actually VPN is not to replace torrent but to bypass the throttling by Maxis during the 8 PM - 2 AM time frame. The other thing you can try is subscribing to bitport.io

Actually there's lots more function to VPN then just bypassing throttling. You can access sites like netflix or Hulu, which check your IP origin to determine if you are in the US or not. You can also access BBC sites which does not allow content outside of UK.
