thats not good, is that the maxis speed test?

just replaced my unifi 10mbps to maxis+astro(add 50 for second decoder) 10mbps for 4 days now, changed to public ip. So far so good, it fact its faster compared to unifi i only get 9.8mbps while maxis managed to get 10+ hope it wont be that shitty later on.

are u on private ip or public?

U should really do a complaint, speed throttling doesnt apply to direct download, only p2p. Try to download from microsoft.com or nvidia.com, u should get around 2.5MB/s, if not, show it to maxis.

my biggest disappointment is just i cant use my own router to work with the iptv perfectly...

Is it the old black TM btu? That's the huawei hg655g. Ask them to change for you to the new TM btu, huawei hg655m, silver color. After they changed it for me and upgraded the technicolor tg784n v3 with the new firmware, I'm getting much better speed, stability, etc.

mine is the white color Alcatel Lucent i-240G-P, havent had any problem with it, had been stable since unifi. not planning to try and error. tongue.gif

so after get public ip, whats the difference bro? sorry newbie in astro iptv..kindly mind to share ur knowledge..
*
with public ip your network is really on the internet, thus you can remote desktop your pc or access your cctv from the internet(anywhere). while private ip is like youre inside their network and might even share the same public ip address with other users. download sites that allow 1 ip address per download for example may show you youre already downloading something.

already did complaint.
guess what? when i first requested for a public ip, the customer service repeated 3 times to make sure my username is "usernameid@home.maxis.com.my" when it's supposed to be "username@public.maxis.com.my"
had to find it out my self. Not sure if they are trained by monkeys or what.

Today one of the customer service called me and said my username has been signed to 10mbps plan -.-
Now after i rebooted my router, i got back my 20mbps and public ip.
If i didnt make any complains these ppl wont do anything.

well, glad you got it sorted out. me on the other hand need to stick with their router to get astro iptv working. waiting for Asus to get the special routing settings from maxis astro iptv because changing vlan doesnt work.. my router for now is just for hiasan. blush.gif

Maxis fibre latency "guarantee" is set at 100ms and below (to google). That was what the operator told me. And they replied me saying the average for the fibre connection is 80 to 90ms.

What BS ! I have tested this using unifi at work, and the ping is 5-7ms. So I can't agree to their claim. They say they will try to reset their network and see if it solves the problem, but i will keep bugging them until it is solved.

I haven't got to online gaming yet because i know my ping is ridiculously high.
*
i ping google 5-7 average. something is definitely wrong with your connection.

Thanks for the heads up. I am going to bug them somemore to see if they can change it to fibre. I paid for fibre, not a dsl.
It does, but not when you complain too much. They re-route your connection on the backend thinking they have fixed it but it actually made it worse.
*
if your high rise is using copper(did not have fibre pulled from the ground(if available) to your house, blame the house developer for being cheap), TM/Maxis cant do anything about it.

so you happy now?  doh.gif
wat a pathetic cheerleader.

there is a saying,
maxshit screw u one time, it is their fault to screw you
maxshit screw u second time, it is your fault to let them

the problem has been there since v1 until v4
what tokking u - all back to normal.
normal means having problem.
*
Are you okay dude. Pretty sure hes just voicing his experience. Mine has been good as well, coming from unifi 10mbps. If theres no problem then no problem. If theres a problem there is. Unless youre living with him, then youre right. Cant argue with that. You should file a complaint and change back/to unifi without penalty, just show them you have made several complaint case, if you dont have any, nobodys fault youre letting maxshit screw you.

it is rare.

thats great, nobody get screwed, everybodys happy, pretty sure aceedburn is happy atm. Imo, for current maxis users, the less the better, that way theyll improve areas that are affected. Theres always an option to change. Everybodys a free man. =P

This is absolute bullshit. IPTV does not need the dish at all. I don't even have my coaxial cables plugged in. They are lying to you through their teeth. Only the home fibre can use the hybrid setup, but that's not needed for IPTV to function.
*
the previous firmware before the latest(before the ui update) firmware need the dish to update, only then it gets the update from the internet(ethernet port). in my case the installer did not update the firmware to the latest, and my decoders were showing theres an update, but it just wont download, 0% and error afterwards. i need to plug in my dish to get the update, and had to bring down my second decoder to update as well because it just wont download without the dish. the latest firmware(latest UI) however is updated through the internet for both of my decoder.
