my remedy for the 'ROAR' sound...be gentle with your accelerator ..never go beyond 2k rpm during move from stop position ..  laugh.gif
and yes, it is like dragging a 10 tonne truck ... the only good thing is when I am driving, the noise can be overcome by turning on the radio loud, the dragging part, well, just treat it as drive slow and steady biggrin.gif

Good advice - thanks thumbup.gif I'll tell her that tongue.gif
But she's going to go to Proton SC anyway - see what they do biggrin.gif

you even do on the doors and hood? I put rubber on my 4 doors already make it very hard to close.
Still finding any good place that offers soundproofing in penang.

in my opinion, SA wont know anything/any update unless the technican told them...cause those SA not involve in repairing cars...
when i goto eon sungai pinang, those technicians seems like they know what i want to do there ady...
probably famous among them that "this fat guy always know about the internal buletin that havent release out to customer yet"
this i have to thank allen... rclxm9.gif

Actually the correct procedure is, whoever read and receive the email, will print out and show everyone. Brief technician and SA.

For my previous post, it was typo. I struggle to accelerate from 110km to 150km/h, flat surface. The engine roar like mad, like Vios....sigh
Perhaps my car still very much virgin if with 4k mileage, since all the 4k are done within city. Hardly speed above 120km/h

Hey guys, tried the engine mounting mod with fuel line. Effective DIY mod, cheap and easy.

on iafm+ cvt, the engine roar coz the cvt is trying to match the engine speed rpm with the ratio, compare to manual where its already fixed. Until it reach the most suitable ratio@the highest, the roar will continue n slowly fade when it match the ratio. Pressing it gradually, make it easy to cvt to match the ratio with the engine speed (rpm) will help. But when need power, then u will hear the roar. But can used stepped auto mode@sat, the roar will reduce, but cvt whining still there. So, golden hawk, if ur sis want lesser roar, used sat then. But if not really good in cntrol the throttle, fc will be effected too. Depend which is suit for ur sis.

Thanks for the comments Abg. mat79 smile.gif I'll convey the message accordingly biggrin.gif

BTW, another question to CVT owners - does the gear console have lights? Realized hers wasn't illuminated even in pitch-dark conditions unsure.gif

hello all

i've been a silent reader for awhile and just registered. well i received my car last month, and tomorrow going for 1st service already (although mileage sudah lebih 1k, aiya)

my short review after one month of my 'Stealth Fighter' so far:

Model: CFE
Color: Tranquility Black

Driving experience: I use it to commute to work (shah alam - bandar sunway) and the occasional trips to KL of course, and so far I've been enjoying the drive. Received the car with no major problems or issues or defects. Had a good sales rep handle my deal too. I really love the ride and handling, which I think is superb for a locally made model.

And the looks too! My black CFE really looks sleek and smooth (thats why I call it Stealth Fighter hahaha). The mid-range pickup is great for overtaking, and cruising at 110 - 120 on the highway has shown me a car that is stable and responsive.

Bad points are few, mainly that my car has that laggy throttle you guys have been talking about (hope to get that sorted tomorrow), and the low speed ride is jerky (is this a gearbox issue?) as in sangkut-sangkut below 20km/h (especially in parking lots). Windows also mist up if the weather has been rainy, and rear visibility is so-so. And whyyy is there a blank switch for the top spec model?

Oh and I'm currently getting about 10.3L/100KM, but i hope that gets better in time.

Overall, I rate my car an 8/10 smile.gif

So in short:

PROS: looks, ride and handling, performance above 2000rpm, high-speed stability, comfort, good audio and okay sat-nav
CONS: low speed ride, laggy throttle (fixable, hopefully!), not-so-stellar fuel consumption, mediocre rear-visibility

I've attached a photo of my Stealth Fighter wink.gif

edwans, low speed sluggish is normal. DSG/Wet Clutch CVT, common issues. You are not alone.

Its a heavy car, perhaps after 5000km service, things will get better. I'm getting 13l/100km for full city driving.....
