Means Maxis can remove the Perpetual Discount whenever they like and we pay RM218 from then on....
Not very good to customers... but smart of Maxis as usual.
*
RM100 perpetual discount will always be there...as the word suggest, its PERPETUAL...forever.... :-)

Unless of course you cancel the subscription package and subscribe again, then you won't get it anymore..

It might be Maxis DNS server causing issues. The sad thing is, you can't change the DNS on Thomson router smile.gif
*
You may bypass the DNS setting from the router if you are using your own DNS setting inside your computer, no need to change the DNS on the router.

If you still want to change the DNS setting inside the router, you may change it from command line via telnet interface.

nope...the DNS will always lookup based on the highest order/priority

I can't confirm whether the router or your pc has the highest priority

Local PC DNS has the highest priority.

You try putting in some random IP address into your LAN TCP/IP DNS server settings and see if your PC is still able to call to the router to resolve any URL? No way.

currently no quota in place.. the 100GB quota you see there for now function just as a guideline,as a practice to discipline yourself if quota is enforced

have anyone tried calling overseas using the free IDD 200 mins to those 10 selected country? Mine got installed today and i want to try to call Indonesia but not sure if there was any dialing pattern so i called maxis to ask for instructions. They said no dialing pattern is needed to dial from your DETC phone. just dial directly to the country you want to call and they will auto detect and minus the 200 free mins. Is that true ar? have anyone tried using the phone to call overseas?

is there a default password for the maxis internet account?
is the username usually a combination of numbers@home.maxis.net?

Your local dns setting inside your computer always higher priority than setup by network. Please refer to screen shot below:

Default password for Maxis FTTH internet account is username[1]
For example your username is 77777@home.maxis.com.my so your password is 777771

It might be Maxis default DNS which is not resolving these websites. Try and change the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 (I'm able to view the sites you mentioned by changing the DNS).

It shouldn't be, because Maxis DNS can resolve that hostname without problem.

Just changed my public ip instead, so now my ps3 now is NAT 2, and the download speed is 13mbps, upload speed is 2~4mbps, but when I try to download a trailer or movie from playstation store, found that the download speed at only 4mbps.

Any bros here also facing those problem?

Ps: I test the speed at speedtest.net with my iPad, download: 15mbps
Upload: 15mbps

Damn...!! The the dect phone has no power switch to turn off the handset ! When the router + modem + dect phone station were switched off overnight, the dect phone keep searching for signal and drained a fully charged battery reserve in just 2 to 3 hours time.
The only way to prevent battery power drain is to keep the dect phone base station switched on. sad.gif
