anyone can confirm how to save the Thompson config file?
even i login with admin previlege the option is not there (while the generic Thomson router should have the option) I can't afford to configure my routing/port fwd configuration all over again in case the router down or something The interface is damn too slow |

opendns is slower than google dns in malaysia
even though it uses anycast and the nearest server for opendns is in singapore, somehow maxis routing to this server sux... hence google dns is still the best choice now |

QUOTE(pisanq @ Jul 19 2012, 06:35 PM) You may bypass the DNS setting from the router if you are using your own DNS setting inside your computer, no need to change the DNS on the router. nope...the DNS will always lookup based on the highest order/priorityIf you still want to change the DNS setting inside the router, you may change it from command line via telnet interface. I can't confirm whether the router or your pc has the highest priority |

if your complaint is just the wifi, dont have to replace the thompson router, just get yourself another wireless router and set is as wireless REPEATER
and yes, the WiFi is crappy even with BX firmware |

Im not sure about other brand, but Im currently using Belkin PlayMax router (gigabit+WirelessN) router
it cost slightly expensive but comes with 3 yr warranty now if im not mistaken (even covered lightning strike); Mine has been replaced 3 times with hassle free replacement ( 2 time lightning strike causing gigabit ports unusable, and yesterday the router just went offline for no apparent reason), my router comes with lifetime warranty, now they revised to 3 yr only So far am happy with their after sales support, and is flashable to DD-WRT too |
