any home plug is compatible with any type of power wiring be it 1-phase or 3-phase.. you just have to make sure that the sockets you're linking with the home plugs are in the same phase...

ok this is what i've done :
originally i was using Jaring service, and of course the TM phone line for it. then i applied for maxis. later maxis called for installation date, and gave me new phone number. then maxis came to install. i asked whether can use old copper line, they say can. good. make life easy for everyone. installation done. then i went to TMpoint to cancel my TM phone line subscription. then i called Jaring to stop my Jaring internet service subscription. ..... basically you have to go and cancel your tm phone subscription, other wise you'll still receive the bill for something you don't use, unless of course you still want to use it which i think doesn't make sense since it will be redundant.... |

QUOTE(nickcct @ Jul 6 2012, 06:49 PM) don't be fooled by speedtest.net result.. they can be buggy on some computer/device... there are issues with speedtest if you google... like in my case, my notebook which is connected using wifi gives me 9Mbps upload, but my desktop pc which is connected using UTP cable gives me 0.3 Mbps at most..... |

ok just to share some info with those having issue of asymmetric download/upload speed....
previously i wrote in this forum that my desktop pc was having 10Mbps download but a wierd 0.2Mbps upload... so i suspected there must be something wrong with my Windows 7... apparently the problem was caused by a software, namely ASUS AI Suite II.. after uninstalling the software, my desktop PC now have 9Mbps download/ 9Mbps upload when i do speedtest, and page loading kick in quicker... so if your pc internet connection behaving strangely, check if there's anything screwing it up... |

QUOTE(jerryhean @ Jul 17 2012, 10:52 AM) Part of the T&C from Maxis Fiber internet... not to worry to much about this, especially if your house is far from their target audience usually the people in town....6. The Maxis WiFi Hotspot service does not increase your available bandwidth and will not impact your internet quota nor will it cause degradation of the Service performance, security or risk issue |

QUOTE(Qavs @ Jul 17 2012, 02:54 PM) LOL, finally finished my installation. i had an experience like you... now settle already.. may i know what motherboard you use ?1.45PM Surprisingly TM people arrived earlier than Maxis guy. 2.00PM They went around my house and did some technical job. 2.05PM Maxis guy is here! WOW! I thought I appointed 2.30PM lol. 2.10PM Maxis guy told me my town house considered "condo/apartment" due to the port is all connected in a room. (and I always thought my townhouse considered as landed property) 2.30 Setup modem / router / phone. 2.35 After troubleshooting the phone, everything worked fine. 2.45 TM guy left 3.00 Maxis guy speedtest for me and tell me all the configuration. 3.05 Satisfied customer so far Only complaint is the response time is a bit slow. And speedtest upload is rather slow on my Desktop? o.O Maxis guy tested on his laptop and he got very hight speed, around 18mbps. I got less than 1mb -.- |

QUOTE(Qavs @ Jul 17 2012, 08:25 PM) Thanks man! It's back to normal now. yup, that's the culprit.... but i have the suite uninstalled altogether, since it doesn't give much benefit anyway...Just googled about it, it was the iNetwork from Asus which shapes traffic which caused the problem. ![]() good to hear your system back to normal... |

setting at router - will affect all devices connected to the router, provided the devices don't have pre-determined dns
setting at client - will affect that client only..... in short, setting at client will bypass all other dns setting.... |

unifi IPTV is not actually free. it appears as free when in fact it is not.
TM is repackaging it as free, because it would not have been sold otherwise. unifi (5Mbps) + IPTV (8Mbps) , total 13Mbps --> rm149 maxis home fibre (10Mbps), total 10Mbps --> rm118 (for the, early birds) 10Mbps/13Mbps x rm149 ~ rm114 (well, almost 118) with maxis you get pure 10Mbps internet. with TM you're paying for something you wouldn't have bought otherwise (IPTV), and only get 5Mbps. |

QUOTE(hongchai888 @ Jul 29 2012, 09:49 PM) Do you guy notice? When torrenting, yes it could hit over 1.+mb per sec, but it will drop back to 600 and slowly regain to 1.+mb. Any idea? Or just me. aye... isn't torrent depends on seeders..? more seeders more speed.. if suddenly your highest seeder turn off surely you download speed will drop.... i think that is common sense ? |
