You forgot to ask about the weak wifi signal ??
As for the dect phone, keep the dect phone base station power on instead of removing the batteries. The station only needs 0.5w to operate.
As you implied, it only cost RM4+ per month and not much money to save but my intention is to save the ENERGY. This has been the value and habit that we practiced in our home to conserve the energy and green the earth.  nod.gif

The whole world is wasting so much energy on standby power.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standby_power

By the way, it was me who posted the energy cost to power up the router and modem. I have a watt meter to measure it.

Good on you bro...Go green you are..Perhaps you could think off a device which store those wasted energy for better environment.

-My 2 cents

Same problem I'm facing since Tuesday. Noticed that can't access those websites with IP starting 61.*.*.*

Could you try to access www.yesasia.com? This website also under IP starting 61.*.*.*

Used PingPlotter and at the tracing result, it stop at hop no. 6 at this IP address: 58.71.244.254 (Maxis Server)

Confirmed the website server is not down and functioning as able to reach with Streamyx or Unifi.
*
I can ping the www.yesasia.com. This imply your eInternet connection is down and not reachable to the destination.
It will get stuck at IP 58.71.244.254 (Maxis Server).

Wait for a while (few minutes) and the connection should be auto-restored otherwise disconnect and reconnect the eInternet.

I know not all Maxis FTTH users experience this problem as I could surf other websites without any problem just certain websites especially those with IP starting with 61.*.*.*

The connection is not down nor disconnect at that time as I'm actively surfing on other websites (including lyn.net) at the same time trying to load www.yesasia.com. Besides, already tried restarting modem, router and doing disconnect and reconnection but problem still persist.

Quite troublesome for me as this issue happened since this Tuesday, before that no problem at all.

Contacted Maxis CS and awaiting their reply on checking this issue as their side also no problem accessing that website.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Perhaps you don't get the meaning. Inculcate good values and habits that can be practiced off hand to my family members is way better than thinking of some nonsense devices. thumbup.gif

Finally I got my Maxis Home Fibre installed...
2 TM engineers + 1 Maxis engineer (contractor by Maxis) came.
TM engineers arrived earlier (working at the MDF) than Maxis engineer.

Average ul.to (via Alldebrid trial account) Downloads about 1.2MB per second (3 concurrent downloads)

Something wrong with your account. I can trace route, ping and surf to yesasia.com without any problem. Seems your account only connected to Maxis cloud but can't go to that website.

After just 9 days of problem-free surfing with Maxis Home Fiber, today my Thomson router went kaput.

Long post warning!

I had posted here a few days earlier that I'm having some difficulty getting the Thomson router to actually boot up and connect to the internet, but usually after a few restarts (and a long time waiting) I'd get connected. Yesterday around 6pm after work, I switched on the ONT and router as usual, and after 15 minutes of restarts and waiting, I still couldn't get connected. Proceeded to call 1800 82 1123. After five minutes waiting for someone to pick up (yes calling Maxis takes forever now), suddenly the connection was up, so ok, I hung up the phone, case closed. I still wasn't too comfortable with what had happened so I left the router on throughout the night (I'd usually switch things off).

That was yesterday's story.

Today I wasn't working, from morning browsing, torrents, dreambox all worked fine. Until around 6 pm that is. I was browsing when suddenly the wireless went out. Checked the router, all the normal lights were gone, the power light was red in colour (instead of the usual yellow), and the internet and wireless lights were very, very faint (instead of bright, blinking yellow). After a few restarts, proceeded to call Maxis.

This time I only had to wait around 20 minutes before someone took my call. Seriously, you guys really that busy eh?

The CS guy took my complaint, suggested a few troubleshooting procedures as usual (aahh it's like streamyx all over again) before conceding to forward my complaint to the technical guys. Was put on hold for another 5 minutes before I got to speak to the technician. Insisted that I try resetting the router again (I tried it before), but after telling him nothing happens after I push in a pin into the reset hole for even half a minute (it's as if the router is off, but the front wireless button light and the other lights I mentioned earlier is on), he conceded that the Thomson router is faulty.

So, I got a report number, the technician promised to get me a new router by monday, although he did say tomorrow might be possible (yeah ok I'm not getting my hopes up), and I seriously need to consider shelling out money for my own router.

So yes, I now agree that the Thomson router is crap. 9 days before going kaput? Epic! laugh.gif

p/s I have a conspiracy theory that my router was not a new unit but a refurbished one. Reason: the letters marking the phone ports at the back are already faded. Maybe I'll upload pics when my connection is restored.

now that you mention my thomson router will go red light first every time i turn it on... i need to turn on and off multiple time only it will start function =.=" looks like it's a symptom that the router is dying

Finally got a NAT Type 2 for my PS3 after requesting for a Public IP. laugh.gif

I was happy when the Internet light was red when I switched on the Thomson router earlier today.
They didn't call me to inform/guide me on how to set it up accordingly, thank goodness this forum is here. laugh.gif

Anyway, here was what I did:
1) Selected HSI (GPON) + VoIP
2) Changed the "home" part of the username to "public."
3) Access Network set to TM.
4) Wi-Fi HotSpot wasn't ticked.
5) Didn't touch the voice account settings.
6) Accepted the settings.

Was there anything that I missed? Thanks. laugh.gif

never knew that it was going to die....i just felt annoy by need to constantly on off the router every time i turn it on after shutting it down for awhile and a bunch of little problem like wifi going down once in a while... and i decided to ditch the router once and for all

before this i was recommending the ASUS-RT-N13U-B1 router to other because of it capable to support maxis fibre with default firmware but it seems that it has it's own problem also....

TPlink TL-WR1043ND is the router I'm using now
you will need to flash to OpenWRT firmware and do some setup only it will work...(which will void warranty)
it works wonderfully and you can get support for the custom router thread since there's a few people that use this router

Try to make your new thomson router stand, as it helps heat dissipation.

For me, my TM ONT kaput after 5 days tongue.gif

Yes, it took me 15-25 mins to get them, and the so-call troubleshooting call took me 1 hour with intermittent on hold eventhough the conversation only last max 15 minutes!!

Yes, I wrote a complaint email to customercare tongue.gif
