I am planning to run while fasting for the first time this year.
So, I would appreciate some pointers.
Do u run slower than usual or at the same pace?
Do u sahur in the early morning or before going to sleep?
What about water intake?

for 5k, normal pace should be no prob...above than 5k my pace should be slower, nanti suffer until berbuka blush.gif to be honest, i don't practice sahur...only drink plain water during sahur time or before going to bed...500ml and more should be ok...this because for me, puasa is the best way to loss some fat...so no rice or fatty meals during berbuka...easily loss around 7-10% of my normal body weight (including fluid)...i've been practicing this for 4 years already...so far no prob...

my first running event was during fasting month..that's why i start running during puasa and now become habit...for me the only drawback is u become tired and sleepy during tarawih tongue.gif

Fasting month for me is off season, though I still continue training becoz I dun wanna start from scratch after puasa. Last year this is what I did : after sahur I will do core work, plus some bodyweight workouts.. I will add on weights towards the end of puasa. In the afternoon before buka I'll go to the gym & run treadmills, around 45 mins, maybe 3 times a week. This year I think I'll alternate running & weights after sahur. In terms of food, I dun really eat that much during buka, but it will consist of carbo of course. I also try to maintain my normal water intake, around 2 liters. Too much water will leave U feeling bloated at nite... a good thing becoz U won't feel that U need food. For sahur it's pretty much leftovers from buka.

Intensity will be toned down, obviously. But the thing is, becoz we go thru bulan Ramadhan only once a year, I try to devote myself more towards everything religious.... smile.gif

Last year, during the 3rd week of fasting month, I tried running around 10pm. Bad idea. Had stomach cramp after less than 2km. As I was running can feel slightly the food I ate bouncing in the stomach. Guess it was too early to run after breaking fast (or I just ate too much). So I gave up trying to run during Ramadhan.

This year, maybe try to run around midnight on Friday and Saturday or if I have the guts around 4 am just before sahur.

This will be my first time training during Ramadhan. My plan just 1km jog and some push up, sit up and squats. 6:30pm time. Then wait for Azan and minum air macam unta smile.gif

No particular target. Just don't want my body to totally rest.

But this is just my initial plan. If I found out I'm too tired for solat terawih, then I will stop all training.

AND to take this opportunity to stop smoking. Wish me luck guys.
