1) Steering wheel slightly off center to the left. I have read that a few people have had this problem. 2) Check illuminated entry or whatever it is called. One user here posted that he/she could only get passenger side illuminated and their driver side did not, while it worked fine for another. 3) Any weirder than normal sounds eg weird sounds not coming from regen braking.

Note: Prius C 1.5 : total tax exemption RM97,146. Note: Prius 1.8 Luxury : Total Tax Exemption RM134,500.
If no Tax Exemption : Prius C 1.5 = current Price RM97,000. + Tax 97,146. = (RM194,146) Prius 1.8 Luxury = current price RM145,500. + Tax 134,500. = (RM280,000)
Our Prius C is imported from Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Pte Ltd with AP granted to OTOMOBIL SEJAHTERA SDN BHD, a subsidiary of UMW. On the customs declaration form, FOB cost is RM66,198.43 plus Freight RM3,009.69and insurance RM58.88. 10% Sales Tax of RM6,926.70 is payable while Import and Excise duties are exempted. Total cost is RM76,193.70 at Port Klang. UMW has to add local distribution and marketing costs. Selling Price is RM93,967 (OTR is RM97,000). It seems the margin for Prius C could be below 18% !
If no exemptions, 30% Import Duty is RM20,780.10 , 75% Excise Duty is RM67,535.33 and then 10% Sales tax is RM15,758.24 for this CBU car! Total Exemption = RM97,146.97!

1) to remove the DVD parking brake and speed limiter find the below wire
2) Then Cut purple and red color..
connect to any ground- it means any metal parts. this is how i did
3) Then i connect to a ground next to the player... The speed limiter/parking brake Sensor for DVD if you remove it it will not work even if you are not moving.. look for 3 wires connector, green, purple and red .
4)the panel is easy to remove, just peel it pull it out.. dont worry about breaking off any parts, as long as you do it gently...
just checked the guy mudah page, i think the player he only got one unit and sold to me..don't worry out in the market all the toyota oem player will fit as well, just make sure that the quality is good.

Should be more but I can't think of any else off the top of my head that I've read about, if I do I'll be sure to add.
Thanks all for contributing. Keep it coming and so pm me your car color and when you book and has it arrived or not . I will keep this thread updated as much I can. For owner can pm me. Thanks. Anyone can create a signature for prius c. If not i try to create one when i reach home today.
Tips And Tricks for the Drivers and Owners: - Apparently there are no jump points like on the normal Prius. To access the 12V battery remove the front panel under the rear seat. For more information refer to the manual.
Those that are curious and don't already have these can check it out:

No worry, There is lot of picture over the internet. Seem you really can't wait to get your car?
I've seen lots of the pics on the net, but I want to know if there are any minute differences/variations in the actual paint colors or if the differences are just superficial (paint color names). I do know we don't get some of the colors other places get though, plus I want to see them shining in the hot Malaysian sun (and yes I can't wait lol, gotta at least do something to kill the time!)

Thanks Salamander . Wonder if you can upload to other site, as unifi block depositfile website. TT.
Thanks all for actively participating in this forum. Lets make it rock here and we share and learn more about our prius c here.
Looks like alot of orange in our group here hehe.
You can easily bypass the block by changing your DNS setting away from those hosted by TM. On your devise or PC, change to Google hosted DNS at 8.8.8.8 and no website would be blocked.
Just send my white PriusC for first free inspection at 1k. Based on UMW normal schedule for regular vehicles, we have to fork out more money to change engine oil and filter. Actually hybrid vehicle uses the petrol engine about half the time. The PriusC manual as well as USA site recommend change at 10k.

I thought Prius C maintenance is 10K interval? that was what UMW SA told me.
The recommended engine oil is 0W-20 synthetic for Prius, so I guess Prius C also need to be at the same level.

Have to check out what other local Prius owners have said on the web regarding UMW fixed compulsory standard maintenance service at 1k, 5k, 10k, 20k etc. Maybe this is to ensure steady income for UMW and to remain valid for their relatively short 3-year warranty that is standard for all their models. First service is RM104.36 total.
Local UMW also uses regular mineral type Toyota Motor Oil 10W-30 to replace the original Toyota Japan motor oil filled in our imported model which is to be replaced at 5k if severe driving conditions, otherwise good until 10k km or 12 months.
FYI, brake pads in Prius are known to last very very long as the car normally uses engine regen braking instead of friction from the brake pads.

Cant as using unifi. After change can't online.
And yup. i saw in USA the service interval is 10,000 km. Wonder if dont go for 1k, 5k service will void warranty or not.
to mkhor7 - wah so cheap ah the service, even cheaper than proton.. ok.. toyota its not cheap but reasonable haha. later they see this thread they increase the price.
Any owner want to register their name to owner list ^^
I also can't wait for my car la. So eager to get it and make up some modified after reading US priuschat forum.
1st - sport rim plus wider tyre 2nd - window tint 3rd - black matt vinyl for front and rear bumper (only centre part of both bumper) 4th - head unit + rear view camera + navigation (now trying hard to find a good one which compatible with steering control. Heard ciplak dlaa or other ciplak brand can fit. But I doubt the quality) (but I don't wana purchase from toyota original unit as its 3k. Too expensive yet I don't know the quality) 5th - alpine component speaker and small underseat subwoofer 6th - brown vinyl for interior dash board. 7th - other minor accessories (number plate holder etc)
Same mine also no auto lock. I start drive till I stop also doesn't lock. Unless it lock silently and without moving all the door lock physically.
Whether it is silently lock or actually we can heard it when its lock?
Maybe its driver seat can unlock car anytime. Maybe you can test after running the car and ask someone from outside to open the door.
Sometimes too the car is too intelligent until we forgot to lock car. It happen to my Sis Prius a lot of time.

It seems by default PriusC is delivered without the autolock mode on . In USA, owner can turn it on with a few steps detailed in their manual. However it is reported that European spec the same step cannot activate it. Unfortunately here our Malaysian spec also cannot activate it using the steps from USA manual. Local SA still do not know whether can or cannot. Maybe it is because the PriusC here do not have auto door unlock upon collision .

Thanks all for your input. Looks like we are progressing for being a all in one solution to refer for our prius c car.
To : conqu3ror - same here too. My SA ask me apply loan one month before car arrive. Can't wait though. ^^ .
Hi.. I heard from my SA that I will be getting my white Prius C in early May. Not yet applied for loan.. how early do we really need to get the loan? do u apply to the bank or the SA can arrange it for us? any recommended bank with good rates?

sorry, first time buyer here..
thanks
Wow, first car getting Prius C..
Actually SA will earn some commission when we apply loan, so just let the SA do the job.
Some bank just take 2-3 working days, some may take 1-2 weeks to approve.
Anyone know the current rate? SA only told me is about 2.5%

Nope, it won't auto lock, I downloaded US manual from Prius Chart forum, it did mention about how to switch to auto lock with switch to N and hold the lock button for 5 Sec, tried but nothing happen, I think the our alarm system is different model

Wow.. keep it coming guys. I will update our thread with any tips and do let me know who want to participate in hyper milling. ^^ . To proof write ur lyn nick in a piece of paper and take picture with ur MID ^^
my SA responded, May allocation list will out at end month, any one know about this?
seem newly launch Jazz Hybrid arrived & getting the car much faster then Prius C, their waiting period 1 month? If you go the Jazz Hybrid thread. Car owner is building up much much faster then Prius C.
Toyota should keep up & improve their supply chain.. or else losing market share to Honda. shakehead.gif
Haha.. i think honda jazz hybrid world wide sales is below Prius C. As i read article Price C sold more than 100,000 within 1,2 month of its launch and their factory can't produce more. As heard their initial plan for production is 10,000 car per month. Now they are using Prius Factory to manufacture Prius C i heard.

Iianm usa launch it in march so many order from there. i was also rhinkin of jazz but no blue color and i planned to take a blue jazz with plate BLU35 (blues) - "jazz and blues" hehe that would be cool
Sa told me if book now oct baru got car. is high demand.
It will be crazy to wait for 6 months, are you ordering a Exotic Sport Car? Or a plane? This could be one of the marketing strategy to show Prius C is hot cake.

We only know the number who booked/order it. but we don't know the number cancel the order/booking.
This is just proof their Supply Chain is suck. Or the big drawback in JIT system (Just In Time).
With the long waiting time, you just give customer more time to make decision & seek for better option. Some more the new Hire Purchase Act, our booking must be fully refund if we cancel.
I heard a Showroom in KL have ready stock, called my friend said no need to wait. Seem they desperate for sales. So how you explain this?
Remember this is a 100k car, not a cheap local car which much easy to sell.
i booked end of feb. supposely early april should get my car adi but SA gave to other client with excuse say loan not approve yet. but he is the one arranging all these for me ma. made me waited till may...hmmpt
Why my sa never tell me which batch? I called up my sa they only tell me roughly next week coming or first week of may. Is there any other way for us to call up umw to check when is our car expected to arrive?

Tips & Tricks: If you want to have all doors unlock (as opposed to having the driver side or passenger side unlock when you approach from either side) just hold down the lock and unlock button simultaneously (there will be a beep, wait for it) and it should have all doors unlock when you unlock from the driver side

Anyone notice some sound from engine bay once u unlock and open the driver's door? is this normal?
PriusC systems continue to be active after we press stop. There is the heat storage process pumping some hot oil into a vacuum flask type of container. The next time we start the car this hot oil is pumped back so that the fuel engine can start hot and ever ready.
You can read more of this here : Heat Storage system at Autoshop101.com which has tons of technical details on Toyota Hybrid cars.

ur car having this sound too? how about when u press ur brake gently do u hear sound of "tick"?this is normal as well?

Prius brake is not linked normally as in other regular cars but a multi systems including energy regen to charge the battery. The tick comes from solenoid within the Stroke Simulator.
wow. my SA have an extra ready for stock orange colour prius c as well. Anyone interested can pm me.. ^^ . Seem alot of ppl cancel though ^^ . Or bank negara ruling is very tight nowdays
Prius C User Initial Review ---------------------------- When this car launch that time, i was in mangkalai.
When i came back , finally i got to see it in march. i wented to see it wif my gf, and i terus fell in love and ordered it.
Then ytd nite got the car. One week of anxiety finally over! I am officially young and trendy (again)
External: - orange colour is awesome! - looks different - rear looks nice, modern - design cues are not too wild, yet not boring like other toyotas sold here
Interior - its roomier than it looks - driving position is good, no obstruction to knees when you rest them on the side - central info LCD position is good, many info can display - doors open wide enough for easy access
Usage: - smooth drive - has power when you need it - absorbs bumps reasonably well - some feedback on steering so you do feel the road
Things I do not like: - silver plastic strips on the steering not good fit to the steering wheel. feels cheap. - pathetic horn. really like road runner as someone mention. - no guide lines on reverse cam - NO AUTO LOCK!!!
Overall, this car feels special. I sit in, I feel different, a new driving experience for hybrid.
Put on "California Dreamin.mp3" and cruise along the highway for the win.

Now time to buy some rubber mats to put into it.
Thanks for posting pics, they're great! I called my SA and I *might* be getting mine soon, they said there are some on the lot already. I hope I can get it within the next week or so (better yet, a few days hehe), waiting for them to call back. Has anyone come across any accessories available locally that are for the Prius C (or fits it) like mats, cargo carpet, car cover etc etc? Also is anyone planning on doing coating on theirs? What are good choices (at least 2-3k budget range)? Please advise.

Wow, thank you for the info! Yeah I'm looking for those lil square box type mats also. I'm still trying to figure a way to expand on the cargo room at the back with a smaller replacement for the foams that go over the spare tire (though I am unsure of what the consequences will be if there are any)

i also thought about whether orange is ok anot, so i visit a few time, the test car was inside showroom, in the shade outside, and under the sun. so i got to see how the car looks in various lighting and i decides orange over red/white also cos its an outstanding colour and old man like me can easily spot in car park.

Wow, thank you for the info! Yeah I'm looking for those lil square box type mats also. I'm still trying to figure a way to expand on the cargo room at the back with a smaller replacement for the foams that go over the spare tire (though I am unsure of what the consequences will be if there are any)
uh that is gonna give very little improvement only wor... i wouldnt take the trouble. anyway, when the need arises, improvise. or use lorry lol.

Thanks to timeonce recommendations for me to meet up SA tomorrow for a test drive.I decided to take this car over H Jazz Hybrid (even though the interior is nicer).

for considering Prius C i am not exactly loving the interior, but after about 2 hours driving time in it, i feel its fine just the way it is, whether its night or day. every button is where i expect it to be, so when i took delivery of the car, i just toll the SA "tak payah explain" and drove off liao.
i also considered jazz but a few factor change my minds: - ori jazz came out 7 yrs ago. its got no "new" feel. its been on the road for so many years liao. - i did not like the colours. - honda showroom and sc not near to where i work/live

Honestly, a 100k car not much people are affordable plus car market is so competitive. We just switch SA or different car model which ever give the best offer.
Definitely need a subwoofer, mid-power under seat type is sufficient.
Bro. If u want to add subwoofer, the underseat type, which battery you are going to tap? If to add sub woofer, will it void the warranty of the big battery?

TS maybe can update where folks service their car. I doubt all toyota centre can servis this car.
I think can ah As i heard the service is like normal car. Except for big service which involve hybrid drive and my sis and bro in law have prius and one of it have problem before by spilling water to the battery pack. Only one certified person in malaysia can service or battery pack and others can't do it. As heard its dangerous. So do not put any water in back seat at any cause.

Likes: Silent starting engine mode (Start/Stop button) Fuel saving vehicle (I was told by SA it is like RM 0.08 per km) Comfortable ride
Dislike: Interior -dashboard (color looks weird). If it is not a full hybrid vehicle, probably i will choose H. Jazz Hybrid. Audio player no bluetooth.
Once again Thank you timeonce for introducing a friendly SA.
Hi SkyGig. Hope you like my SA. My family had gotten 5 car from him and anything happen to us. we always call him back and he service with top notch. Hope he meet ur requirement by explaining how i works.

Prius C is a hybrid car and please do not expect it will perform like an Initial D movie/comic vehicle (from my point of view, please don't flame me if i offended anyone reading this post).
Coz still just a car, won't bring you to the sky or moon. Some more is a 97k car, we paid for the price.
At most just better driving experience.
If you are getting a polo gti tomorrow, you will be very exited because is a beast under the Bornet you guys are Lucky just have to wait for months to get a car. Polo gti the sa even no accept booking and said estimate delivery one year

You don't need to worry about both, there's no way you can use the high voltage battery unless you cut the thick protected cable or plugs. The regular 12V battery is under the back row seat on the right. A low or mid power subwoofer would just need the normal 12V supply wire found everywhere in the car.

Has anyone tried the "Automatic door locking and unlocking systems" configuration on Malaysia Prius C?
It has been reported that these settings cannot worked with European models and sadly also our current Malaysian batch cannot activate them too. Maybe it is because our PriusC do not have auto door unlock when collision is detected or when airbags deployed.
(Another difference with Malaysian model is that our MID do not include the screens for "ECO Savings" and "ECO Savings Past Record" where we can enter a comparison fuel consumption of another car to show how much we have saved by using PriusC.)
Anyway, you may try it, hopefully later batches may get it to worked.
As per the instruction, these settings STRICTLY must be done within 20 seconds on pressing Start from vehicle Off state and doors are closed. You must also keep pressing on the door "Lock" or "Unlock" button for 5 seconds EXACTLY. If the setting is accepted by the computer, it would acknowledge confirmed by locking and unlocking all your doors quickly.

I thought of changing the 2 din player outside accessories shop but worries about the handling and the warranty for the ori player.I like to have a LCD screen and bluetooth function but the toyota DVD-AVN player cost me a bomb(RM 2,990 even though it comes with rear camera). Any recomendations, guys?
if your music source solely from bluetooth and u duwan to touch the car system, grab urself a soundmatters foxL2 bluetooth portable speaker, and power it with a usb charger to ur lighter socket lol.
just bear in mind this little monster is kinda expensive , Jaben quoted RM800 dunno if that is the bluetooth model anot, amazon retails for about usd200.

Same to me too. I wanna transfer my car souns system over. But afraid latter the major part or main battery of the car spoilt, they will say no warranty. Cos icheck before before i bookthis car. Penang SA told me will void warranty if change anything. She said there is a latest circular from toyota since one of the prius c install a rear camera and afterthat short circuit caught fire. Haiz. If it void the original players warranty is nevermind. But i afraid they will say this and that affected short circuit then ask u go claim from aftermarket seller. Hope that some toyota technician or sa can clarify this.

anyone here got the dvd-avn from toyota? how can we update the maps on it?
can we get a similar unit installed fr outside? i've heard of a similar unit that is installed for the altis, so i was wondering if that would also work for the prius c...
would it be better to get the one from toyota, or to just explore some other options out in the market?

Hm for me I chose the toyota dvd-avn for the moment even though it's expensive as heck because I just want some kind of compatibility for now with the car/steering wheel controls etc until something better/compatible comes out. As for the updates I asked my SA and they said to ask them for updates (my car is from umw itself), I'm not sure how you would get updates from other dealerships.

When you get your car besides having the manual in book form do they also have it included as a pdf on a dvd?
I think pdf file on cd could be too "advance" for UMWT and our local buyers.. UMWT has to cater for the lowest denominator and we get the standard local CarePlus/MaxCheck maintenance book which insist a hybrid car must get an oil change at 1k, 5k, 10k, 20k similar to UMW other models....while PriusC sold elsewhere do not recommend this interval as hybrid car don't run the petrol engine at least 30% or more of the mileage. My own town and very short drivings average about 60% running on petrol engine.

Thank you for the information! Just wanted to peek at the manual before I get it so I can learn more, and to see the minor differences with the N.A. versions (like some of the displays on MID, locking functions etc). I always find it an annoyance to find something that's usually not mentioned that we may not get on our end.

wiper is good, the right one is much longer than the left one. not sure the size of the blades and where to get replacement outside also... need to check on my first service about the pricing of wiper.

haha. yup. But when driving Alphard i always depends on the reverse camera grid as its easy to see. Can't wait to get Prius C to test it out. wonder if we can draw line in the reverse camera haha. But then it be very foolish.
Anyone gone for 5k service yet. Do let me know how much it cost to service ya.
Any feedback from current owner on how good/bad/ review on your Prius C.
Maybe you can add a diff "cap" on the reverse cam and mark on that one hehe. For me I guess I'd just use the cam for seeing any obstruction but not rely on it the whole way for parking. I find those proximity sensor things more helpful.
Btw, can you get any trip/car info displayed on the 6.1" touchscreen? I know the US versions have it, would be kind of sad if we couldn't get any info displayed on there and just have it showing nav stuff only..

It is very easy to upgrade just the reverse camera with a better unit that has line marking from most accessories shop.
However the RM2990 option of DVD-AVN 6.1" unit with this reverse sensor is the same one offered for local Vios, Innova, Altis, Camry, Fortuner, HiLux models sold by UMWT. The headunit is OEM from Panasonic while the camera is regular unmark type. Both are locally fitted (I wondered what happened to the original player). Sometime you get poor workmanship on the reverse camera fitting like rough cut edges or black tape coming off.

mkhor7 - do you drive prius c as well ?
Fitting quality depends on luck, and UMWT do make some PDI checks, just that some problems may surfaced later - hence ask them what is the warranty coverage.
Updates from OEM are usually a mission impossible, and the map updates are not free.
Thanks vey99 for answer to the last Q - PriusC is our first Toyota, and one that I did not hesitates to order immediately. It join our other CBU cars - an old 206 and a new Sportage. timeonce, pls add me to your list.

When the 1st time happened,I sent my car back to Toyota and the engineer just reset the error to me. He told me maybe the car got interruption and it turn on the warning light.

If you just start your journey it always in ev mode. Then the speed increase, then jam start. In this situation you can get 99.9km/L
But I find that mid sometime not accurate or delay in respond.
Then I find the car some got funny sound like motorboat.
Or even sometime the car will vibrate...
Anyone notice it?

To cheesyken , dont be sad.. ur car will help u save RM5200 petrol in no time..
"like" well at least i felt better that way...lol yesterday collected my car and was driving along tun razak. damn jam! due to the smart tunnel closure. so fed up, at the same time i fine the battery charging noise quite loud, kinda annoying. so i always change gear to "N" when stop so battery wont charge.
At the same time the noise insulation i find not so good ler...kapzai drove pass my car oso i can hear so loud...lol
Now car without tinting, and got to park under the sun. dunno what tint to go for. went to Air Cool at OUG but the boss who served me say he stop using Air Cool adi but recommend me Sun matrix anyone got experience with Sun matrix? good? he quoted me rm800 whole car
It join our other CBU cars - an old 206 and a new Sportage. timeonce, pls add me to your list.

hmmm.ic...anyone using toyota DVD-AVN? can try update the map using malsingmap or malfreemap and let us know?
I booked mine on Feb light blue. Called SA, he told me to wait... Wait until when? I'm contra off my old car.. is it the reason it's delay?
Im also requesting for premium tinted instead of standard.. Is it worthy? SA said my warranty will void if I tinted else where.. Is it tinted in Japan?

I guess any optional item are done by UMW. I believe light blue still not available in Malaysia. As far as I know, currently only have Orange, White, Silver, Red in Malaysia. Other colours still need to wait.. sigh
normal drive and eco mode drive got any different?
when need to use eco mode n normal drive?
Ha ha
I was about to ask this question. What is the different with eco on and off? I off it this morning, I feel it it is more power. I press the accelerator it just speed up. Going up hill also better.

So can anyone who already has their Prius C can clarify whether or not any extended info from MID can be displayed on the 6.1" touchscreen like the car or trip info or if it shows zero info from MID? In US (and I'm sure the Japan one does it) their version lets passengers see some info from that display. If it doesn't then that is kind of lame.. hate missing out on stuff
Sorry I'm on the east so I can't make a recommendation, but I do remember some people earlier in this thread or the other prius c thread mention of their SA's to others.

What do your guys key fob look like? The one that was with the test drive car looked kinda nice, but a bit big and it had a big blue thingy on it like the start button. Other than that I think from looking online they seem to be like the normal prius key fob. Someone mind taking a pic of theirs?
no did not...not gonna mess with it until i research more on this. should have more info in other toyota threads la. this unit is not unique to prius c.

may i know ur map is on 2010 year or else? i tried test drive unit and i check on the map version is 2010 year map
Good overview comparison, but I would like to add some comments here.
PriusC starts easily on electric motor that has 169Nm of torque. Jazz Hybrid starts like a regular car with the petrol engine which has peak rating of 121Nm at a high 4800 rpm which is assisted in series by a small electric motor 78Nm for a total 199Nm when pedal is press down to the max. The advantage for PriusC is naturally better fuel economy for everyday driving, and less engine maintenance costs.
Next, figures for 0-100kmh performance has PriusC with 10.7s easily beating JH slower 12.1s . This comes from PriusC having a sleeker lighter body and its 101PS total power which is a higher then the Jazz Hybrid's 98PS that is available near redline 5800rpm.
Hence, I have to disagree with this subjective comment of JH being quicker off the line.

a fair comparison. your angle as practical buyer, jazz will suited you more.
no rpm is no issue for me. i hardly miss it cos i hardly use rpm. this is a hybrid, not a racer. i dont need it to tell me when to change gear or if i am underreving. i already paid for the auto to take care of that part for me.

anyway, i read every single words, nice 1 bro.
few things here.
1. Prius C shoulder room? wide enough? for 6 footer 2. C's pick up?
no offence to owners here, IMO, C's display is kinda OK, but its looks like video games if compared side by side with Honda's
shoulder room is good. i got 2 big size guy sit inside and it was ok. no rubbing shoulders. 6 footer will find cramp at back and probably in front passenger. if u r 6 footer this car, like many compact hatch, is not for you.
pick up, is reasonable for a hybrid city car.

hmm no idea havent explore it but my area is unmapped and probably will never be. i will likely research how well malfreemaps works with this car, cos i am a mfm supporter.
Next, figures for 0-100kmh performance has PriusC with 10.7s
i havent really did a 0-100, but driving it around, i dont think it can make that figure (with my way of driving). it does get from 10 to 50 fairly quick, but it really runs out of breath after 90, in my experience. before i ordered, i have also seen various sites quoting around 11.5s
will record a 0-100 after my 1st service is done la.

Hi mkhor, thanks for the compliment. As mentioned, I do not have the full engine performance specification and have no doubt your data is correct.
With such an earlier gap in my information, I could only share what I "felt" in terms of acceleration and does not necessarily translate to real world figures. Apologies for the wrong impression created.
I do hope you can continue to share any irregularities you encounter as you browse through the blog. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks, bro. As stated, each car has its strength and for a full hybrid, the Prius C is certainly the way to go.
I mentioned about the RPM not so much of racing but more to do with reducing engine whine if the RPM gets too high. I attribute this to my lack of familiarity with the car and I believe it's just a matter of getting used to.

0-100KM/h in 10.7sec is only achievable by turning off air-cond, econ and with enough battery charge, for normal driving, it is around 12 seconds, some Taiwan's website have tested it.
its kind of redundant to have paddle shifters in a hybrid car #2cents
some buyers need to feel sporty regardless of what they drive. honda, so happens, caters to such a market.

1000km can...only if you travel outstation. Usually one trip to Penang or JB, you need to fill up another half tank before coming back but Prius C you no need BUT you need to know how to handle this little devil

I added in the problem SA in our 1st page. Wah looks like our thread getting more active day by day. beck_ken - want to enter the contest of hypermiling ^^ hehe . As u can manage 1000km in one tank .
How do u drive to manage 1000km per tank? What is your average speed?
Outstation of cos can. Constant at 120km/h all the down to The Zone Hotel, JB. Then after convention, drive back to KL at 100 - 110km/h cuz too dark already. Back to KL next morning drive back to work etc etc.. So there u go 1000km
Last time my Vios 06FL also can clocked 800km, so I can't see why Prius C can't do better than my modded Vios

Just made a booking for the Prius C with the SA recommended by timeonce. Chose the Aqua Mica colour which is light blue in colour.
Spent around 2 hours doing the test drive and this was mainly because the SA took the time to explain all the functionalities and technical details of the car to me . Thanks to timeonce for introducing a good and knowledgeable SA .

Both my mum and I did the test drive that's why it's a bit longer . The SA started off by driving the car with us sitting inside so he could show and explain to us what the various functions in the multi info display mean. At least it's better this way rather than having him explain while I'm driving cause I won't be able to concentrate.

Let's all members have a gathering first, mayb can have it in end of may or mid of june. Cos I believe we shall have some "click" before we shoot out for trips. And at least those less "social" can know the members and enjoy more if there's a trip.

When is your expected delivery date ?
Cheapest financing i found is 2.43% p.a for 9 years. Shorter the more expensive. Hence i opt for 9 years as i think its better for me to dump more to my housing loan as BLR is way more expensive than car loan.

I booked 10 Apr but need to wait until Sep leh Just saw another white one new Paya Terubong area in Penang but noticed that the number plate at the back is way too big like a big black patch on the butt because the black plate filled up the entire indentation. I think a nice small one looks better...
Haha. surely can. But i think genting better dont damage the car. haha. Maybe Frasier Hill or Cameron better ^^ . But will do organize a trip once we have more member in. Possible before end of the year. Any budget anyone ?
My tender no. successful. My C-Wing will arrv on end May or early June. pls update my status.
No problem flying to Genting, Fraser Hill or Cameron Highlands, according to my fren (d 1st Red color Prius C in Cameron) d ride is smooth; d power overtakin cars n lorries is ok although not as powerful as d Prius 1.8 I always chauffeured my fren with his Prius 1.8 on my familiar route Simpang Pulai-Cameron or Tapah-Cameron, d accelaration is powerful like 2.4cc. Still don't know about Prius C's performance but I presume is sufficient, wait till I get my hands on it then i just make a review. So I will be d 2nd C-Wing owner in Cameron if my delivery date nvr delay.
Timeonce... make sure we get more owner on d road before we organize d 1st C-Wings outings n must be a memorable one to make a lasting 1st impression n good start for d club. I suggest Simpang Pulai to Cameron is a good testing route n won't stress our cars like genting bcos most owner mileage still below 5,000km.

I am drivin to cameron end of this month. not sure if using the prius c though. still undecided.
this is full load for family trip... 2 adult 2 kid, not sure if i am pushin it by taking it up 1.5 hours uphill...
Wow.. i think this will be a test for Prius C. But then with a powerful torque contribute by the electric engine so i think should be no problem. As prius C have acceleration of 1.8liter engine.
Do update us on the powertrain experience ya . Have fun
Wow, I don't think I've ever seen an SA that's been really uncooperative, absent minded with its client especially when that said client is paying in cash. So far everything I've brought up with my SA they have forgotten, and I've had to constantly remind them and several times when they've said they would get back to me they never did, wasting me even more time with other issues. Now apparently my wait time will be extended even more, I am thinking hard and reconsidering... I have never come across an SA like this before that seems so uninterested or not serious. If you consider getting this car (or possibly whatever else this SA deals with) forget about getting it from UMW in kk, or find a more competent SA that actually cares (or pretends to and at least gets stuff done) for the client. I may wait it out, but as far as reconsidering goes, what other options for cars are there at this price range? Don't care whether it is hybrid or not.. (just an idea to know what else is out there). I still want this Prius c.. just a lil miffed.

hmm i think you can change SA. after all its between customer and toyota/umw, unless that is the only SA there... alternatively, have to carik a dealer who will get it for u
btw i hate to nitpick but under ur first post in Tips and Tricks, tip #2 about autolock is not true liao.
is it this one vey99.
2) Doors should autolock once you start driving above a specific speed provided you don't touch any of the door locks beforehand, as well as auto unlock when parked.
Can one more owner confirm for me ? Dont worry i will keep first page updated with latest tips. But do see how to operate ur prius c using the youtube. But seem alot function for prius c in USA different from ours.. their V4 also got sun roof and our prius c is way more expensive than theirs.

Nah, not nitpicking :> and it's good to keep the corrected info updated. I'm also a little bit confused about that one but as you and the other owners haven't been able to get it working (maybe we should contact that guy) we should probably cross it off the list for now. As for my other issue, I will try an be more patient (on top of how patient I already am in the first place..) and I will see if I can find another SA but if I was not mistaken I think this was the only one dealing with this particular car. If they suddenly became more cooperative/enthusiastic/helpful/etc I would be happy, but I am not going to cancel just yet because I think there may be a fee involved so I'll look into it a bit more and hopefully they will change their tune.
@timeonce, thanks I will keep it in mind if I decide to make changes :>

As far as I know, the latest hire purchase act mention all deposit or booking fees must be refund to customer upon cancellation. As before some car dealer may forfeit these money, but now no allow anymore.
A lot of us also hate these SA, till one point we intend to cancel our order & switch to other non hybrid cars.
today coming down from MEX and cut into old airport road saw a white prius c with my previous Vios number. The owner let me cut out from the left side..hahaha
You buying with Cash Salamander ? Which SA and branch you go to ? If want , want me to ask my SA whether he sell to sabah or not.
Not sure if another SA will be interested to sell if you have cancelled the booking. My friend wanted to cancel his booking and change to another SA but was told that the first SA will still get the commission cause once he makes a booking, his name will be in the system even after he cancels the booking.

7 mil Security film with >70% total heat reject cost me RM1300 . It is now very competitive with OEM house brands which is equivalent to those big name.
If compared with Toyota Standard Solar Film is RM 1,400.00, even though my SA offer me to pay only RM 800 for it. I dont know is it better than any tint (same price) out there?
What is the thickness for security film u looking at for Vkool and 3M ? As i heard got some if too thick your smart tag can't go through.
Do check with them whether you can get signal for smart tag and also your hp ? As heard some brand with some high thickness even block your mobile network connection.

Care less on the thickness but the main important, it should have a good protection against heat. No used drive hybrid car but fuel consumption gonna bit high due to aircond usage. My daily travel is 80km (home-office-home) including traffic jam about 2-2.5 hr in the car.

True also. But for our aircon if not mistaken its being run by electric. So if you press auto it will save more. And i think you be driving in morning and late evening right so not much heat also.
If want save cost. Maybe can try the one mkhor7 said. RM1300 and 70% heat rejection.

Which brand with 7mil and 70% heat rejection? Mind to intro? Cos its cheap for 1.3k

Its oem private label film from USA house brand as MGard Ipoh, save about 40% from the big names. Just like Tesco/Giant house brand products - quality could be same, but maybe taste different....

Sungard . 5years warranty with certificate also. afetr bargain , i cost me $1200 only. •Alleviates sun-damaging effects, by blocking up to 99% of UV rays and reflecting more than 78% of the sun’s heat.

Wow, I think my worst nightmare for commutes like that is getting a stomach ache along the way hehe
On another note, I think I've decided to use Gzox coating when I get my car since it's pretty much the only one available in my area. Seems like alot of black cars going there too hehe.
Which one is better VCool or 3M? In term of pricing:
VCool ~ RM 2600 3M ~ RM 1800 for crystalline
3M is on par with V-Kool I think but RM2600 is way too high for V-Kool. I paid RM1850 for my BMW.
In my personal experience having owned many tints V-Kool is the best, but Solar Gard is the best value, about 80% of V-Kool's performance at 40% of the price.

Cheapest financing i found is 2.43% p.a for 9 years. Shorter the more expensive. Hence i opt for 9 years as i think its better for me to dump more to my housing loan as BLR is way more expensive than car loan.
OT but need to clarify here, don't compare car loan and home loan just based on interest that you see because they're based on different calculations. 2.43% car loan is closer to 5% APR. Your BLR is probably around 4.x% APR so the home loan is almost always cheaper.

Hi tishaban, thanks for your info. Oh mine is not based on this calculation. My housing loan is calculated by i borrow loan of RM600k for a house and repay 30 years. So i repay around RM20k per year for interest and RM20k for principal annually. As by end of day. in Year 30 i pay a total of RM1,200,000.00 with current BLR> And i know first 5 years we pay more interest than principal so i took the total payment i need to pay and divided by years i need to pay.
So interest around 100% per annum for a house.
For Prius C i took this calculation.
I borrow RM90,000.00 loan as car is RM100,00.00 and stretch to 9 years. So monthly i pay around RM1,028.00 per month. And by end of 9 years i pay total of RM111,024.00. And if you take the interest amount is around RM21,024.00. The you divide the total interest of RM21,024.00 by 9 years and you get RM2,336.00 per annum and divide by 12 months i pay RM194.67 for interest monthly. Compare to amount i pay monthly of RM1,028 monthly the % of real interest i pay is around 18.9% of total monthly payment i pay compare to 100% i pay for my houses.
Of course we need to calculate NPV but i took the total repayment by end of the years and divided by no of years and also the total interest i need to pay throughout the tenure.
And of course if i pay off earlier i can save more interest in housing loan by doing a flexi home loan package which im doing it now. Hehe.
If you need my detail calculation. I dont mind sharing. Just pm me your email and i sent you file how i work it out.
And for this i assume inflation rate and time value of money is constant as we are both comparing loan for a long period. Of course if we do APV it seem housing cheaper but dont forget we pay longer for our house.
Maybe you pay lesser but I'm just a normal person striving for living so can't afford to pay housing loan at fastest rate. Just kidding. No harsh feeling ya. Just sharing out why my calculation different than other ppl.
If only i can borrow corporate loan like my boss it will be perfect which is KLLIBOR plus margin so around 3.4% p.a for short term revolving credit facility. But as they say the richer u are cost of debt is superb cheap. Hence rich get richer and middle ppl get poorer as days goes by.
Or maybe you can work out a package of housing loan cheaper than car loan and share with us. I would like to learn more as well. As my calculation may have flaw in it.

Some guy on priuschat I think had something similar - I think his was a combination of just broken in, tire pressure, and temperature and I forget what else that added to it. At least some of that might have something to do with it, or maybe not I would like to hear though what fizlan75's SA was referring to as well

dudes, i found this in another Chinese forum, just for sharing & please share ur thinking as well. Vios' owner has a total of RM23,525 saving compare to Prius (& it says it could covers Vios's fuel for another 5 years)
lol. ppl who do this are too free, and comparing apples to androids.
a vios is a b-segment city car, a prius is a c-segment hybrid.
moreover, you only live once. drive something you feel is special.
if you want to calculate, a bicycle is most worth it. saves you 89,000 vs the vios.
Thank eeeee7 for the sharing. but this is for Prius bigger brother. how about Prius C. haha. its cheaper by RM35,000 right and of course it save more fuel in city.
So use roughly kira. If vios cheaper than prius by RM23,525, we should enjoy saving of RM35k - RM23k so equal to RM11,475.00.
Not to mention prius c battery is cheaper and maintenance also lower than Prius as its 1.5 liter engine. So more saving also right. Hehe
Added on May 11, 2012, 10:24 ambut think we must use our new interest rate of 2.43% or 2.5% think this is a better benchmark. and i think Vios also can get same rate. Not more ex than prius. But thank for sharing bro hehe

thanks, its a sharing tho.
u know in the past some even did similar comparison between Persona vs. Vios.
dailou, dont shoot me pls, those are always 'prays' V as their god what. lol
its their right to love a car. i love a car too but cannot afford it at the moment. i feel you need to love a car to buy it, else just buy a car for its utility. generally toyota cars are utility, u cant really love it. however, the prius c for me feels different dna than the rest of the boring stuff toyota sells here.
nothing to compare at all. if there were a comparison i'd say its vs a ford fiesta vs prius c, both are good looking, modern design, latest generation.
if compare ( i have a myvi also) i say myvi win hands down in terms of practical, cost, space.
nothing to compare about, there is no statement claimed that the hybrid battery only last 5 years, if a balance driving 50% jam and 50% cruising, the battery cycle is balance i don't think its only last for 5 years. based a the calculation, if every one calculating to have a cost saving method, I believe many big displacement car manufacturer will all close down because every one will only look for cheap, good mileage, cost saving car which is won't happen on premium vehicle.
there is nothing to compare about it, like Prius, buy Prius, like Vios, buy Vios, like Preve, buy Preve, that's all... one day u be millionaire, like Bentley, buy Bentley
I thought for space prius c is bigger than Myvi and also Honda Insight one ?
the old myvi has tons of space.
for the new myvi, the inside space is comparable to prius c, although i feel prius c is slightly more spacious maybe cos its seats arent as high as the myvi.
QUOTE(eeeee7 @ May 11 2012, 10:55 AM)
vey 99 is a rich guy, later those using myvi for gf will kena whack bcoz gf = vege/fish...lol timeonce, by looking from outside, C's half a size smaller than Myvi... is like 2.8 vs 3.2 ( dono what im trying to express)
for the new myvi, the inside space is comparable to prius c, although i feel prius c is slightly more spacious maybe cos its seats arent as high as the myvi. in other words the utility car is used for chores
the nicer car is use for social la
I saw a Prius C on Wednesday night with the new Myvi side by side, The Prius C is wider and longer than Myvi by just looking at it. Even in the spec, Prius C is bigger than Myvi, Prius C dimension is almost same as Vios except the length which is 30cm shorter (smaller boot size)
Because of comparison between cars to suit our budget, that's why it makes the decision of getting a new car is very difficult. At one time before I decided on Prius C, I have other options like Honda Jazz Hybrid,Vios,Grand Livina,Preve and even Perodua Alza. After I test drove all these cars, I found out Prius C is more pratical for my daily drive.A friend of mine once told me,whatever car we choose also the same.We are all like paying rental fee to the bank throughout our lifetime. It is just that which rental fee we can afford. That's all.
Btw, my SA told me,I'll be getting my Prius C Pearl White on the 18th May.today I just signed the loan agreement with Public Bank.
I've kept my eyes peeled everyday and I still haven't seen a Prius C on the road in Sabah yet - lots of the big brother though. Maybe there is just so few at the moment I haven't crossed paths with them yet, will be kinda exciting to be one of the first few around here when I get mine hehe.
Good news from SA I'm going to get my light blue Prius C next month, booked since 4 days its launched. Bad news is I need to pay my hire purchase all over again.

this is where i keep the external hdd whereby it can be easily unplug from usb port whenever i come to stop. or you can use handy drive of size 32G where it much smaller.

superb setup for almost endless entertainment, just dont leave the hdd when car is under the hot sun
i doubt very much it can go that fast. internet sources mention about the 160+ mark.
Actually I don't understand why people want to drive above 120KM/H ? want to go directly to heaven? most people don't understand, the faster the speed, the higher kinetic energy you gonna get, imagine if you're driving 160KM/h, it is equivalent as jumping from 100m height tower with carrying 1 ton of payload, anything that you can't control, it is like your parachute won't open, so you can imagine what is the consequence.

I heard prius c if u let the engine run and u left the car for a certain distance (together with the smart key in your pockets), I heard the engine will automatically shut down and auto lock is it?
In the right conditions of road, wind, traffic, average speed... this is indeed correct! Using the Normal setting plus air-con running requires gentle start up and speed build up to about 90km/h, minimum or gentle braking and coasting to a stop.

a very patient driver, some weed and some chillout downtempo music as well.
Here are some info I found on the hybrid battery...
The battery pack and hybrid system requires NO maintenance until 100,000 miles, when an inverter coolant check (and refill if necessary) is recommended.
And there is a telephone number on the Prius battery pack for you to call to claim a $200 bounty to return that battery for recycling when you junk the car at the end of its service life.
That "toxic batteries in landfills" and "$10,000 to replace the battery" crap you hear from people who know nothing about the Prius is getting REALLY old.
Is there a recycling plan in place for nickel-metal hydride batteries?
Toyota has a comprehensive battery recycling program in place and has been recycling nickel-metal hydride batteries since the RAV4 Electric Vehicle was introduced in 1998. Every part of the battery, from the precious metals to the plastic, plates, steel case and the wiring, is recycled. To ensure that batteries come back to Toyota, each battery has a phone number on it to call for recycling information and dealers are paid a $200 "bounty" for each battery.
Hi everyone, new comer here. Place an order in mid march, but even my SA is not sure when the car will arrive. Anyone booked around the same time? So jelous lah you guys already talked about driving
Also, I booked for orange, now kinda torned between orange and black. Anyone with black one who can post a picture here will be very appreciated. Looking foward for more discussion/tips.

I think most of you here didn't know what is the price for the Prius-C battery cost. Haha. My salesman known for long time, before the launch, he went for training and shown me the price for the battery and I was surprised it was way cheaper than Insight's battery
I have 2 questions wanted to ask:
1. Can we deactivated the seat belt warning? It's very annoying
2. Regarding the seat, can we add something to make it soft? My gf or mom feel it hard

when you remove while the car is running, it wont stop beeping even after the car has stop. kind of forces you to only unbuckle once the car is stop.
i would describe the seat as firm rather than hard. i feel it may be tiring for long drives/commutes esp the back row.

He shown me the training sheet that he went and it is cost RM8k compared to RM10k (insight) or many other rumours out there saying cost around RM20k
as i know its the big brother Prius battery that is costing RM20K. the C has smaller battery so should be cheaper. however i dont think this is a general issue if not the ori prius would not sell so well until 4th gen liao.

yes, i mean the passenger and driver seats cuz the design is more like a bucket seat...causing back easily get tired. everytime my mom or my gf in my car, they have to put pillow at the back to support their back. Even a short 15 minutes also tiring for them. I am okie with it.
Have you guys installed any door visor ?
I wanted to install door visor and the brake lock cuz now without any lock feel unsecure.

Where did you get the info the Prius battery cost Rm20k?
Its only USD2k+ and the SA told me its about RM8k here.
As heard from some SA, 50% depreciation once you buy it as hybrid still new in Malasia.

Haha if free i dont mind having a second prius c haha. As still very new now.

haha.. that just what i heard only la.. haha.. but i am also coming owner of prius c as well. And i will use this for city driving mostly as well hehe.
Think wont sell my coming prius c unless big maintenance coming or something wrong with the car.
Yup . same goes to mine. I saw one white prius c in ss2 yesterday. Then a silver in sunway bridge. then another silver in shah alam toll. Seem prius c owner is getting bigger each day. Do you think is it good to make prius c fan club in fb ?
Yes, and for the opposite style of rushing, hard acceleration + hard braking, you will be rewarded with 11km/l or lower.
Prius C change my driving habits, last time always at fast lane. Now seldom. Last time first to boost off at traffic lights.. last time... no more after I change to prius c
I said I wish... it will never happen.. no way hybrid cars can depreciate 50% once you bought it. BTW, I will be the owner of Prius C tomorrow
here not UK. wont happen regardless hybrid or not. unless the manufacturer chaplap like rover and saab.

same here. driving the prius c is like sipping tea on the porch on a windy morning. its just a breeze and i dont feel the urge to go faster.
i dont know whr to ask this, as u all know hybrid car tax exemption was extended from 2011 untill nex year, duno when. so it made me wonder if u could sell ur car after end of duty exemption period at a profitable price?
I don't think you can sell the car with the tax (75%+30%) as profits, a bit extra is possible. Coz when you sell it, the buyer will required the proof of tax paid form. Coz this is fully imported car.
So the tax form must be present. Whether it was exempted or paid...

Our can speed but at the later part. Very nice to drive at 130km/h.. Haha but certainly not recommend to speed at fast lane cuz that speed is not fast enough in highway cuz easily get flashed or tailgate

this was when it first launch couple of years back... loks like official prices are more interesting. not something i would worry about at the moment. i dont fancy its look. my last tank was 27 litres , 552km. so its 20.4km/L sure can improve. still getting used to driving hybrid.
edit: saw liao, increase a bit in torque and power...
about RM2300 over there... bring here plus install...
Yeah, I seen quite a few other things like lights, light covers, shock absorbers, bumper guards, etc but all are pretty darned expensive. Just putting it out there what's available.
Here is some more stuff for those interested. Bunch of accessories and kit parts. I'll post more as I come across them. So far on my top list is to get that maintenance dvd though. I kinda want side skirt and rear bumper cover too, heck I want everything hehe. Time to play lottery!
Hey, can our car installed a rpm meter? cuz first time driving a car without rpm looks weird
Haha I know what you mean, but does the normal prius even have that (don't think it has a tacho)? I think I saw some post on priuschat or somewhere where he had a scangauge II or something that could possibly check rpm. Is it even possible to get a proper rpm reading with the electric cvt? Someone said that there is no fixed rpm for whatever speed you are going (as it depends on conditions)
wah thanks beck_ken. Do let us know ya. If it improve the fc and add more hp . i will surely get this as well. Seem cool leh. Wonder if cost plus installation here below RM4,000.00
Added on May 16, 2012, 12:58 pmOh ya. Wonder if got anyone got contact to bring in the multimedia AV for prius c from japan. As i think those are way cooler than Prius C AV system by panasonic.

I just realized yesterday that I kena TIPU by SA. I ask her to do dark colour tinted for my car last time cuz she promise to give free tinted service. When I collect on 29 March last time, she said its already tinted. I ask why is it not dark like my request? She said that this one is JPJ approved, super quality, polis cannot saman, uv protect, bla bla bla. Already happy got my car so i just take it la
I send my car last Monday to tint darker, after 1 day, the shop tell me that my car dont have any tinting film. Its just stock windows. Piang, I called my SA untill today she never pick up. Kanasai
My UNIVERSAL RULE #8, never ever trust a SA.

That is because your car is still new, not because it is prius c. Sooner or later you will be a typical malaysian driver

Booking on 28/02/2012 and car arrived on 15/05/2012. Silver Colour
Nice, and thanks for posting what the key fob looks like too! It was way different from the one that I saw with the test drive car (they must've had a special one just for the test drive car or something).
my neighbour lookin for white prius c, she saw mine and she stim liao. she askin where can get faster cos she go toyota serdang and they told her 6 mths... lol

First time pumped petrol last week after using it for 3 weeks. Mileage=717km, 27.9l, about 26km/l. This includes a round trip from PJ to Melaka which gave me a poorer FC of 23km/l.

Congrats schungwei on your new C. Will add you once i get home. As proxy in office limited date to upload to net. ^^ . beck_ken - upload some of ur picture of black prius c. I think i never saw one in road yet. ^^
I booked mine on 4 Feb (before launching), and received on 20 April, about 11 weeks. The drawbacks are no discount and no gifts. Even the full tank petrol promised was also not given ! In life, we can not have everything....

I heard the soon to be revised National Automobile Policy will include tax incentive (i.e. personal income tax relief) for those who purchase a hybrid car. I may sell my Prius C and buy a new one if the incentive is very attractive.....

Hopefully it is true and can date back to May 2012, just like house purchasing incentive in 2010, if the tax deduction is 5K to 6K, it will be saving quite good in income tax, but I don't think selling Prius C and get another hybrid can recover the lost of selling or even make profit.
Hello all, I am trying to poison my wife for a Prius c but she set her eye on Suzuki swift, reason swift is rm75800 and Prius in rm97000. Trying to tell her swift is more than 5 years old design ..he he end up fighting over this..help!

that sucks. you are paying for such old design with hardly any kit on it, plus its a local assembly car. its probably the worse car in that range. even dugong and city are newer design and much better deals than a swift.
unfortunately women will be women. i suggest do what u can to avoid the swift. take/drag her for test drive for fiesta, city, or even myvi. anythings better than end of life model like swift.
Anyone knows what is the interest rate now and which SA give the best discount . Trying to work out the best installment plan to show my financial controller . Thks
Think best way like vey99 and SkyGig say.. bring to see see real car. If want to.. get the red one ? or white one.. girls will like it alot. If want better. Get the normal one then paint it pink with hello kitty on it. Girl will die for it as swift have the pink hello kitty before hehe

depend on what angle u think u can convince her. numbers dont exactly work well for prius c if vs other cars.
tell her its like compare android and iphone. a htc sensation xe may be cheaper than ifon but ifon is like, vastly superior /trollbait.
for me it works out to savings of fuel cost about RM200 a month. so if i instalment RM1000, its effectively only 800 + some interest cos i save back on fuel.
whatever car u poison, avoid the swift ffs. its really really really not worth getting at the moment.

Talk about fuel consumption. Whatever it is, in the end, it is still the fuel consumption is the mOst important. Now, Prius C fUel consumption wins. It is even better than insight and jazz hybrid fuel consumption. If compare to swift, swift lost big time.

my car halfway done. wash liao, now doing some buffing.
there got this young chap and gf/sister who bring his red color prius c its a really nice cherry red. i love this color but chose orange cos more unique. still its a lovely color.

getting my new prius c tmr.. after 3months booking.. white colour
is it better to get the car tint as soon as possible? is there any difference if we tint it later.. still undecided whether to pay slightly extra for the better tints (vkool, 3M, ecotint) or just take cheaper one with similar specs..

Yup once u get ur car u better tint it asap to protect your car cabin upholstery against damages due to ultra-voilet rays. It is worth paying extra for better branded tints bcos of our hot weather & also to protect our skin.
I've alrdy testdrive Prius C few times on hot noon & found out the toyota optional window film Ecotint Ray Barrier's heat rejection is poor. Lookin at our extreme hot weather, I prefer better heat rejection films than security films. Planning to get V-Kool Elite for front windsreen & V-Kool 55 for the rest window or 3M Crystalline 70 for front windscreen & 3M Crystalline 60 for the rest.
Can anyone enlighten me.. which is a better tint, JPJ compliance & which one is smart tag friendly bcos confuse with different feedback..

Smart tag friendly is Huper optik X3, TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejection) is almost same as 3M crystalline (a little bit loss to 3M) 3M has very good TSER, on par with VKool, but not really smart tag friendly.
Both Huper Optik X3 and 3M crystalline are ceramic type film, Huper Optik X3 is RM1400 for Prius C and 3M crystalline is RM1800.

Wish to do this as well once i get the prius c hehe
guys... i am planning to change to PriusC (since 95% of my driving is just city drive) - Penang. Does it a good deal to get this car? btw, how is the hybrid resale value in malaysia?

Somebody mentioned earlier that the 2010 Prius was selling for about $118k on mudah.my. You could check up what the current selling prices for those older and different hybrid models I suppose to get a fairly good idea, but I am not sure what it would be for a car like this. I do know they are selling like hotcakes around the world hehe.
Does anyone actually know the specs for the toyota standard solar film? I wonder if I can cancel it.. I really need something that handles heat well.
I am quite sure you can cancel it, its gonna be install over here i believe, not in japan... i also thinking of what tint... now u all putting tint i also want to put...

From my experience from the bigger prius last time. They only tint and pasang the wheel when the reach our port. So I think you can cancel it but do it asap.

wash with whatever also ok de

Hehe.. tempted tempted. can't wait for mine to reach. Anyone see any dark blue prius c on road before. hope my choice is not wrong.

resale value, too early to tell but i believe it will not be best in market but probably reasonable.
how good a deal this car is, depend entirely on u.
if u juz want a zippy city car that's highly practical, this isnt the car for u. get a myvi and blend into the traffic like ninja in shadows.
if u see this car and think "It looks great", then test drive it liao and say "It feels awsm", then by all means buy it if u can afford.

Agree with vey99 say. If can afford. Test drive it. You wont lose anything by test drive it. If you think it suit u then can get it. If not maybe can consider other car. All depends on your needs and wants. If u have bigger family than 4. I think bigger segment c car is bigger. If you just drive yourself and your spouse and 2 kids. It works well in city. hehe

actually if u live in penang, u may not enjoy this car. too many traffic everywhere. u hardly get a chance to sit back and cruise for 5 mins at steady speed...

My opinion is exactly the opposite. The car is awesome for jam traffic. You get total quietness & zero vibration in the cabin when the car is stop as the engine is also not running. Of course that is not going to help you in the fuel consumption dept but it is still more fuel economy than any other car out there. So whether you are in big city jam or cruising in your neighborhood, hybrid is still the most fuel economy car and on top of that you get total quietness & zero vibration in the cabin which no other car can compare(except those super luxury b&w or lexus).

Actually Prius city FC is lower than highway FC, save more fuel when you drive in city with moderate jam.
So far I got a round trip 64KM with 24KM/L FC, no ECO mode, avoid EV during pick up, the pick up is actually not bad after four days driving, I'm always the first leading car when the traffic light green on, most of the time on the fast lane or middle lane, driving constantly at 70-80KM/h.
Only going up hill is feeling kinda sluggish, but I didn't push too much, still break in the car.

its not silent most of the time in jam, cos after jam a bit u'd run out of battery and the enjin starts to run to charge the battery.
however, its pretty silent most of the time, even at higher speeds you hear the wind noise and road noise more than anything else, if you switch off ur radio

That is true if you get stuck in really bad jam. But for stop and go traffic, it should not consume very much battery. Try not to use the EV mode too much as it will result in higher fuel consumption if the battery is low. The best way is to accelerate with ICE up to desire speed and then pulse with EV.
