Manage to test drive both EB and preve today ;p
EB not bad, i push up to ~160km/h on 'kampung' road and it didn't shake much (still stabil, even the road is not as even as the highway plus ;p) but it can't beat the rear suspension system offered by preve (multilink)... But one thing i noticed...both EB and preve kinda sluggish at the beginning...it start to have full pickup when the RPM near to 1.8-2K....is this the behaviour of the CFE engine??? Anyhow, i found out that preve more sluggish than preve...hmmm...any comment guys... |

QUOTE(Longy @ May 1 2012, 07:40 PM) Things I noticed with EBP your driver seat feel rocking rite? mine is the same... already send back 2 times to proton, they said they had fixed it, after 1 day, it happen again.. for both front seats.. huh...will send again next week...I feel the slight rocking of the driver seat when you brake. The engine RPM stays at 1 even when you stop at traffic lights. The horn sounds like a ship Remote control lock and unlock sounds are very soft. Sometimes you are not sure if you have locked the car or not. High engine sound outside was expected. But it gets more louder when you switch your aircon on. Anything I mention to my inexperienced SA . He says " the car comes like that " I like The space inside the car Pick up in the low gears. Sound system ( Good for the car price ) Stability of the car. Handling and braking has been good Air con is good and i like the flow outlets for the 2 back row seats I have not checked on DVD player. No complaint from my kids. So far I am satisfied with the buy. What happens in next few months and how the SC service my car?..Wait and see. |

All 205Nm of it in between 2,000rpm to 4,000 rpm. As for the throttle response, the Exora Bold has a better tuned throttle response than the Preve. |

During first service, technician say not a problem, seat got free play. I just say ok.. Then I found out that one fella from Terengganu has same problem and got replacement. I straight away called to Icare and report my problem. Next day PE call me and asked me to come for appointment. Then on 2nd service, the service lady informed that the seat is ok and even offer me to check on different car under service.. She tried to rock the driver seat and would not move.. She was surprised and she got the point. Next thing i know, she passed me a slip stating that new front seat (driver and passenger) has been ordered. My advice.. Don't believe SC 100%. Checked at other forums or users. Then call to ICARE... |

I don't hear much sound when inside the car.gets louder?...aircon sound or engine sound? Added on May 3, 2012, 2:52 pm QUOTE(neo1point3 @ May 1 2012, 09:42 PM) 1. At what gear it stay at 1000rpm? D or N? Mine if I put at N it stay at 900rpm if D it stay at 1000rpm It stays at 900rpm to 1000rpm when in "N" gear. 2. I believe you never own a campro engine before You are right , I never own Campro engine . Thanks for the reassurance. Looks I just have to get used to the sound. [COLOR=purple]I notice another new problem yesterday, when the car hits a pot hole ( road condition near my housing area is bad) there is an electric "izzz" kind of sound coming from the front passenger side . Why is this?[COLOR=purple] Today morning my wife asked me why the engine sound is still on even after she switched it off?. Thanks to this forum and the members here, I reassured her it is due to the cooler and nothing to worry about. This post has been edited by Longy: May 3 2012, 02:52 PM |

QUOTE(2die4 @ May 3 2012, 03:42 PM) that wan was standard issues, you can find in at previous post as few owner already mention it... If i not mistaken is due to ABS or something else (forgot edy)... Just go visit SC and the mechanic will tighten it... opss..this one looks like a new issue for me, besides the engine suddenly off during driving due to the untighten nut at the battery connection...so for this new prob (ABS or something else), which area actually is not fully tighten? after tighten, issue solved? |

Hope you can share with us, as you know, some SC not expert enough to find the root cause... |

This is how Exora Bold fared in 0-100 & quarter mile :
0-10 km/h: 0.99 sec 0-20 km/h: 1.58 sec 0-30 km/h: 2.23 sec 0-40 km/h: 3.00 sec 0-50 km/h: 3.88 sec 0-60 km/h: 4.90 sec 0-70 km/h: 6.04 sec 0-80 km/h: 7.38 sec 0-90 km/h: 8.89 sec 0-100 km/h: 10.58 sec 0-110 km/h: 12.51 sec 0-120 km/h: 14.72 sec 0-130 km/h: 17.28 sec 60': 3.11 sec @ 39.0 km/h 330': 7.68 sec @ 80.8 km/h 1/8 mi: 11.50 sec @ 104.0 km/h 1000': 14.79 sec @ 119.1 km/h 1/4 mi: 17.57 sec @ 130.7 km/h I put in these figures into an Excel to calculate the horsepower. For aerodynamic drag, I assume Exora Bold has coefficient drag of 0.33 & frontal area of 27 square feet. Vehicle weight + my weight = 1555kg. Peak HP is 111.76. Assuming 18% power loss at transmission, engine hp would be about 136.29hp, within Proton's spec of 138hp, if u take 2-3% calculation error margin. PS : Sorry no torque values as I cannot log RPM, and no dyno test as I'm on tight budget this month |

SC in melaka. Yes intially bit difficult to request for change.Only after I called to ICARE and complained. They set appointment with SC head. At first he say not sure of the status. He called to vendor or proton. Not sure exactly.. Then confirmed that there are issue with my batch. I get my car at the end of feb. How about yours? I suggest you go to other SC to have 2nd opinion. You may also post your story to exora club at FB. https://www.facebook.com/protonexora They will be able to advice you on the issue. |
