Hi all, is this the right way to calculate foreign exchange rate for CC payment made in Singapore?

RM/SGD = rate
*
No. Please refer to the back of your credit card statement or the credit card fees page of your bank's website for the correct calculation.

how do i know if mine is a basic accout or not?
can i convert the current one to a saving account?

If you got a passbook, account type will be stated on it. Usually can't convert account types for most banks.

sources @ http://www.hlb.com.my/pfs/loan/loansmf.jsp?flag=loansmf

Collateral Accepted

    * Cash / Fixed Deposits pledged to Hong Leong Bank
    * Acceptable quoted shares on Bursa Malaysia
    * Unit Trust funds managed by HLGUT

High Margin of Financing

    * Up to 65% margin of financing

Trading Limit

    * Up to a maximum of 2.8 times againts Cash / Fixed Deposits
    * Up to a maximum of 1.8 times against Shares / HLG Unit Trusts

Thats mean Hong Leong Bank can use pledge deposit too?

2.8 times against cash/fixed deposits? what is this mean? anyone can explain?

How if i put pledge fixed deposit RM5,000 and what do 2.8 times means? meaning i will get credit limit for more than RM10k??

Hello, you copied a page about Share Margin Financing, why use it to talk about credit card collateral? Other forummers have already mentioned about 1:1 or less FD to CC ratio, you can check with the bank directly to see what they can give you.

One of the point that banks DO NOT want you to know..... doh.gif
please read through this article...

The writer just didn't educate him/herself properly on credit card interest. Not much excuses with all relevant information easily found on the internet these days. Credit card is like a knife. You can use a knife to cut food and live or cut your wrist or neck and die. The main fault lies with being responsible for your own actions, not blaming the knife manufacturer or store which sells knives.

Interest charges of RM36.55 for RM566.66? That equivalent to 6.45% and when annualize thats a whopping 77.4%. Never take cash from CC.
*
The interest rate for DFC is flat 9.88% p/a, much better than cash advance of 18% p/a. You had extrapolated the figures wrongly.

so if my item is usd 100, den add 2%/3% of usd and google convert it..and that's the approximate amount that i have to pay in myr?
*
Go to this site and fill in the figures.

http://corporate.visa.com/pd/consumer_serv...er_ex_rates.jsp

Note that CC exchange rate is real time and counted more than 2 decimal points, so transactions made and posted on the same day 10 mins apart can have different rates.

Ambank mastercard. There is a column for guarantor.

So it's mean I had to get a chop from my company to apply credit card, right?

You got a photo/scan of the form?

Prime account-linked CC is the same as non-linked CIMB CC, no difference in terms of benefits. Refer to their website for more info.

Some bank officers don't even know that Direct Access is from CIMB. When I went to MBB branch to reapply for MBB Petronas card gave them DAWMC,  the officer asked if I got any other card? And I said is from CIMB lah, and she said she didn't know. Same case yesterday when I went to apply EON Signature card at branch, the officer also got no idea that DA is from CIMB. Once at MPH also, the staff said no discount voucher for DA. Conclusion, better get CIMB instead of DA.

Have not faced this issue after 5 years of using DA. But recognition is actually really not an issue. Just turn over the card and let them read who issued it. smile.gif

The person was asking someone else to fix an issue which was caused by himself in the first place.

my record are clean. NEVER had debt. cc all paid full/more.
i dont have any loan (house/car all paid cash) - this also suprised the OCBC officer who took my application, since at the form i thick residental status - own, then she ask house loan from which bank, i said no loan. car loan? no car loan also.

really need that 5% rebate for petrol+bill+groceries  :(  :(  :(

my mom told me, maybe, the bank think i'm able to pay, then no need la give me 5% rebate :x

Your understanding of how banks view CC debt is actually the opposite way. The most important criteria is actually not whether you can repay the debt, but actually how much they can earn from you. Since your debt level is zero, it means your ability to repay is too good and you are actually a very poor customer to the bank. The best customers to the bank are people who are unable to clear their CC debt but do not actually default.
