Beside than, MalaysianWireless also mention about the Celcom iPhone 4 will be available in October which was what i have been told by M telco insider.

Celcom mention about iphone last year.. but the condition is not benefit for Celcom. as a result, celcom withdraw from the iphone plan.. MalaysianWireless also mention that.

It's been announced in the newspaper today that they will be rolling out the micro sim card soon. So, that is a dead giveaway and trying to get a share of the big pie.

While guess, there would be a group of people will waits for celcom deal since celcom offer the most coverage area.

Will this news pull back some maxis / digi potential buyers to hold on their iphone4 purchase this weekend?

is a good news for celcom user as i was waiting for it.

as said, celcom did mentioned they are not interested to take in iphone due to support issue. so they will focus on blackberry part only. im surprise to hear the news.

let's see how the price and plan going to be. hope will be competitive price then, rather than conquer by maxis alone (on ip4).

I posted this news around 2 months back. The Manager of Celcom Sarawak informed me personally. She mentioned that it will be launched on both Celcom Biz plans and Celcom Blue outlets. She did not mention the date, but promised attractive prices.

I asked as to why the sudden move by Celcom to release the IPhone on their networks, she replied by saying that their initial focus was always on their Blackberry plans. Now that they have secured a major footprint and customer base in Malaysia, its time to venture into something else, and to also jerk the competition.

If i find out anymore info, I will gladly post it here.

Same here, I've got 1 year and 2 months left on my contract. Celcom usually does not permit outright purchases, only with contracts. However, if you're a current postpaid customer, they will permit you to buy the phone outright at their full retail price.

I enquired this matter when I wanted to purchase another Blackberry outright.

In SG, all the 3 telcos offers iphone, so no surprise if Celcom decided to launch iphone and be the 3rd telco to offer the iphone.

in USA, only AT&T & T-mobile have GSM service... n T-mobile is too small to be a decent partner.

also in Malaysia, its illegal to lock a cellphone to any carrier, so telco have to compete via plans or coverage, not device lock-in.

Loyal customers aren't going to jump in the bandwagon simply because of iPhone4. Some people can afford to wait because they have the patience to do so. Some don't even care about the iPhone4.

Celcom will not bankrupt because of iPhone. Competition between telcos always benefit customers like us. Hopefully celcom can provide cheaper & better iPhone plan/package.

Celcom's customers are the hardest to switch out, cos they got good coverage... lower price will not always get people to switch.

what is a better plan? I would like a RM88 plan, unlimited data n RM50 for calls. but no telco in Malaysia has this kind of plan.

why do u think celcom suddenly want to provide IP4? this is because IP4 wave lol.. most of their loyal customer (including me and some of my colleague) will lompat to other provider.. who want to stick to Nokia and etc FOREVER..or you can buy IP4 SG set and used on your CELCOM (WIDEST COVERAGE) without Data Plan whatsoever.

I agree that Celcom have 'widest coverage' even in the ulu-ulu areas got 3g.but arent their 3g speeds slower compared to Maxis & DiGi as too many users are using the 3g network. Celcom is a good choice if you want widest 3g coverage but in terms of speed is it ok?

Maybe you can follow me go to ulu-ulu areas and test which one is faster? Fyi, i already compared with my fren that using maxis when we go outstation together..i can say 90%, at ulu-ulu area, celcom still is the best

I'd rather wait as I'm totally happy with celcom for now. I've subscribed their Celcom 50 + Celcom rm68 broadband.

So far Celcom offer the most reasonable price for micro sim. Only RM 10 compared to RM 25 (Maxis) and RM 20 (Digi).

Celcom Axiata is offering the micro SIM nationwide starting from October onwards. Selected Blue Cube outlets will be offering it as well. Although Celcom is not bundling any iPhone 4 or iPad 3G at the moment, they are obviously wanting to cash in on the new devices with this SIM format.

Existing Celcom subscribers can switch to the micro SIM for only RM10, which is cheaper than DiGi‘s RM20 and Maxis‘s RM25 pricing.

For new broadband subscribers, it is believed that you can select micro SIM instead of the normal SIM for free.

So iPhone 4 and iPad 3G users, you now have a 3rd choice with Celcom.

as for me it's another way around.
base on my experience after using maxis for 6 years, celcom 8 years, celcom way better. even pairing celcom with 3gs perform better than maxis+3gs.
[base on location around penang, kedah (baling, Sg petani, kulim), perlis, gopeng, ipoh and around plus expressway]

if celcom gonna launch iphone 4 soon, definitely a good news for consumers.

But celcom 3g speed is not as good as maxis n digi... Coz my friend use 3 telco data b4... Celcom data is the worst

Just wanna share some info here.. There's always pros and cons.. No telco in Malaysia is super perfecto..

I am currently on Celcom RM50 voice and RM68 mobile broadband (limited to 5g but no charges if you exceed).. So far, I never receive any SURPRISE bills.. Infact I'm saving a lot more with Celcom rather than Maxis with the similar usage (both data and voice)

But, yes.. like i said.. there's no prefect telco in malaysia, just yet! The data coverage is like HELL PUAKA ok! I will suck you battery up like puaka.. Hate it so much, but what to do, I prefer Celcom than Maxis.. Especially if you are in KL... wah.. the coverage will go up and down like nobody business... and they oso will lost suddenly.. even the voice call oso will drop or sometimes you can't even make a single call!

And yes.. when the nextwork is rawks.. the speed sangat laju.. love it to the max.. Celcom can works with Celcom.. just sometimes the network.. other than that you will love it to the max!

Just confirm tis morning wif my celcom account manager, Celcom Iphone 4 will be launching next month, 10/10/2010. I ask him, I'm already has contract BB wif celcom, how to buy Iphone 4. He told me the matter still on discussion. Theres 2 option for BB contract holder

1) BB holder will get special price to buy IP4 or,
2) extend contract to IP4 contract.

Any news, I'll update next monday coz he ask me to call him next monday to get any news.

BUT, if he give me wrong info, apologize ya.........

Personally for me, and i use both maxis, celcom and digi. (No internet for Digi, gila ah)

I find in terms of network coverage by location, Celcom is better, in terms of location being covered.

Stability, both ok. although Maxis seems to drop more than Celcom.

Speed wise, Maxis is definitely faster a bit.

me too, got bb curve then sold. getting n900 for my bb contract. then sold. now thinking to get either nokia n8 or ip4.

actually, fast or slow ur internet surfing depends on locations, time use (peak time sure prob) bla bla bla. advantage to celcom because of coverage that almost comprehensive. curently im using celcom broadband (unlimited but 5gb & the fastest package), at my office area, internet very gud n stable but when i using at my home, stability n speed like he*l...

....... now thinking get ip4 from celcom (but have to wait another weeks) or just get from my frenz that using digi package but want to sell his ip4 wif great offer.

Waa...... after reading so many positive feedbacks regarding Celcom's service vis-a-vis Maxis and DiGi, I am tempted to move from M to Celcom since I am now using iPhone4. honestly, i dun like celcom. my first network provider is maxis, after bad experience wif maxis, i change to celcom. n also have bad experience wif celcom. but from my previous experience. all the network provider is same on service. just advantage to celcom bcz of coverage. service? its subjective....

Possible to changed the BB plan to Iphone 4 ? If can, maybe have a penalty? My personal opinion, better you get from your frenz and using with BB plan.

Taking aside customer service, which frankly i have bad experience with all 3 of them. (So in general, telco customer service sucks), I think if you're travelling a lot, celcom is a better option. but if you're mostly in kl / pj / selangor state area, any of them should do. Since they all cover klang valley well.

confirm 1st october....celcom micro sim arrive...but with limited stock... due to survey user.....i talk with my friends CS.... about 600 pieces arrive at Seremban... so.. hurry up...gang..

call forwarding message. It's to any number I tried. The hotlink number was of course just a test number, I can't be calling a personal number and showing it to public now yes?

All calls have the same thing. The message pops up, then I press dismiss, after that when the fellow answer, after 2 seconds the phone just hangs up automatically. I just did one test call this time and this time I did not press the dismiss button, and the phone did not auto hang up.

i'm a former user of Maxis. Thru my experience, data usage and coverage on maxis in Melaka (at my place specially) is non satisfactory although I use the RM88 package (i bought the 3GS without contract and subscribe to the 88 package because it's unlimited at that time. And I use my 3GS for tethering).

After a few months I MNPed to Celcom. When I want to subcribe for data package they suggest the 384kbps package for RM38/month unlimited (but of course they cap the data)but still no extra charge.

I am a satisfied user ever since and just early this year they raised the speed. Save my monthly bill from RM168 Maxis to only RM88 Celcom.

I am a happy user. I'm now in JB btw and sending this reply using my laptop tethered thru my 3GS.

To me, coverage and stability is more important than speed.

Is it really unlimited? I've been using this data plan on my 3Gs for few months now but always careful not to exceed the 500MB quota, as I was told by CS I'll be charged upto RM250 if exceed like Maxis .. If no extra charge means now I can tether to internet... Like this I can cancel my plan to switch to Maxis for the ip4.. Thanks celcom

is not due to loyal. celcom no longer support 384, so they upgrade all customer to 512kbps FOC...

same. even when i swith my sim to bb, 3g always drop to edge or gprs even. kadang-kadang in klcc pun 3g takde. just gsm.

today is the worst. no line for about an hour!!!

This is normal. Because Celcom is not official in iPhone model.

It can be fixed if u jailbroken the devices. Change some settings.

Else, u have to wait for celcom to join Official iPhone supplier and the new network settings updated from itunes sync.

Btw, i think the setting is evil.

When i was using my digi before digi official iphone supplier, i can disable the gprs charges using fake apn/username/password.

but once digi in official iphone 4 network, whatever i set wrongly, it will just go thru and keep charging me my gprs charges.

And no refund from digi as they say it is not there problem. but it is their problem as ios ver3 does not have option to switch off the gprs/3g setting.

last time using 2.x firmware on my 2g, have the option to turn off cellular data, the upgrade to 3.x, don't have, always allow data receive/send even if I set the APN to gibberish setting, now on 4.x the option of disabling cellular data reappear again. But on 4.x, iPhone 2g is unusable, have to downgrade to 3.1.2 back .

A burden for my wife as she currently using my 2g. Always get high charged when unintentionally open facebook or safari. Currently on 1+5 account, now thinking of upgrading the account to exec 50 just like me. Or maybe iPhone 2g has become obsolete. Upgrade maybe?

Gee...thx rEktOr, this is one comforting positive feedback about Celcom. Will wait for more positive feedbacks and also see what will be Celcom's offers for the iPhone4 Hopefully, by then I think I shld be able decide whether to port to Celcom or remain with my current long time Maxis telco.

i have been using celcom for quite some time. i am also a former maxis user and frankly speaking, quite envy them for the iphone packages. but after looking at the prices and the many unsatisfied customers of maxis on 3G performance (even in city-wide area), i guess my celcom fits me just right. and celcom to come up with an iphone 4 (hopefully not making the same mistakes as maxis in making it expensive and burderning users), that will just rock my world.

go celcom. will wait for 15 october for the glorious launching. to celcom exec and officers (especially the marketing people) in this forum, a word of advice. do not disappoint us. the more people rally to u, the more money you'll get. give better service and many more will divert to u. think volume. think big.

if there is anything that we should know about celcom and its iphone 4 packages, please do tell us in here. help others to make the right choice (for example what call packages should combine with what data packages and so on).

so far, there is no package avail from celcom yet.

if can, be patient and wait for official package announce by celcom. otherwise all can be rumour... and hear-say.

All lines not good in the lift bcos microwave radiation cannot penetrate metal.

no prob..but there's been one thing plaguing me and my wife though..sometimes when we make calls, when the user at the other end answered, the call will be disconnected after 2-3 second. But then when we call for the second time it will be ok. Dunno if its Celcom's prob or our iPhones' problem.

My office lift cannot get line, but shopping malls' lift can get..depends on the lift

Are you on a 3G plan? I think it pops out if you're on a normal (non-data) plan. That popup came on my phone on my old non-data plan but has mysteriously disappeared since I changed to the Exec250 plan. No idea why it happened though.

can't you guys just off the call forwarding tab in phone settings..
i am using celcom and i just off that tab..
no more call forwarding pop up ...

Could be true if there's no in-building site. But if there is (like shopping complex), it's because of their design for sectoring signal.

I have the same issue! Since both if us kena then possibly celcom need to update carrier version? What I do is I just dont press dismiss and well the call does not get dropped.


Added on a 3G broadband plan to my line, no simcard change. Problem still there.


And OF COURSE I had set call forwarding off in settings.

Spoke to celcom yesterday and found out these:

- No new plans. It will just be the micro sim card.
-RM 38 is for 500 MB if you subscribe to voice + data and then you add on the broadband plan, otherwise you get 1GB limit if that number purely only for data.
-tested speed and its 384 because I am getting 314 kbps from my new broadband plan.

i have made some efforts contacting my brother-in-law, asking what his brother who is working with celcom can say about the news that celcom will be bringing iphone 4 to its users. and the brother has said that celcom will not be supplying iphone 4.

even after hearing this news, i still tiny bit of hope that my brother-in-law's brother is wrong (most probably he is not part of the marketing people nor close with any of marketing staffs).

so, we'll just wait for the infamous 15 October 2010's celcom-iphone debut.

Nothing is impossible but it's too late for celcom. Most user who is waiting iphone 4 already bought it or porting to digi and maxis. If they lauching in november, iphone 4 already cold...

Or they are launching it together with iPad? But still its just like DiGi last time. they launch 3GS way later then Maxis. No harm for trying IMHO.
