you got the option in your iphone to disable the 3g and gprs. Go to settings->general->network

How do I totally cut the usage of data line for my Celcom prepaid? Has anyone ever called Celcom CS and asked them to totally block data usage? I'm using my iPhone 3G only as a second phone and never have I intended in using GPRS or EDGE or 3G with this phone.

But the usual 'credit keeps getting deducted without notice' problem when using prepaid sim with smartphones has started to affect me so I really want the option of using data line with my prepaid simcard to be cut off totally.

FYI, I did call Celcom CS this morning and told them what I want and my iPhone version (eg 2G or 3G or 3GS) and they said to call again on a different number as it will require me to do some settings on my iPhone 3G. Legit much? Or just your typical CS mumbo jumbo? The CS operator did have an INDIAN Indian accent - outsourced???

Thanks.

I think it is because of the celcom problem. I use iphone 4 for 2 month, ios 4.1 suddenly my facetime cannot on and need to activate last week. Since then i cant activate my facetime anymore.

for all those who cannot activate facetime, it is confirm problem with celcom not your iphone. my iphone 4 4.1 before this can activate facetime, but after restore (same 4.1) cannot activate facetime. It seems that user that want to activate facetime after specific date (i think 1 month ago) will have the problem.

I began to believe that its either Celcom have problem sending the FACETIME activation code from their SMSC (or MMSC) OR probably Celcom decided NOT to provide the FACETIME activation NOW since Celcom is planning to launch their iPhone 4 very soon. If they ALLOW to activate Facetime, I am sure people will continue to buy from Maxis and Digi or others. AND Celcom will lose their opportunity to sell iPhone 4.... nod.gif

+1 to that. Before the rumour about Celcom bringing iphone 4 start spreading, you can activate facetime without any problem.
