I noticed I'm getting this message when I'm on celcom and trying to place a call. I hope they fix this.

@slickz: ur problem come is call forwarding message or Hotlink voice mail?
*
call forwarding message. It's to any number I tried. The hotlink number was of course just a test number, I can't be calling a personal number and showing it to public now yes?

All calls have the same thing. The message pops up, then I press dismiss, after that when the fellow answer, after 2 seconds the phone just hangs up automatically. I just did one test call this time and this time I did not press the dismiss button, and the phone did not auto hang up.

no prob..but there's been one thing plaguing me and my wife though..sometimes when we make calls, when the user at the other end answered, the call will be disconnected after 2-3 second. But then when we call for the second time it will be ok. Dunno if its Celcom's prob or our iPhones' problem.
My office lift cannot get line, but shopping malls' lift can get..depends on the lift  laugh.gif

I have the same issue! Since both if us kena then possibly celcom need to update carrier version? What I do is I just dont press dismiss and well the call does not get dropped.

Are you on a 3G plan? I think it pops out if you're on a normal (non-data) plan. That popup came on my phone on my old non-data plan but has mysteriously disappeared since I changed to the Exec250 plan. No idea why it happened though.

Added on a 3G broadband plan to my line, no simcard change. Problem still there.

And OF COURSE I had set call forwarding off in settings.

QUOTE(andyz @ Sep 28 2010, 11:40 AM)
can't you guys just off the call forwarding tab in phone settings..
i am using celcom and i just off that tab..
no more call forwarding pop up ...

This is normal. Because Celcom is not official in iPhone model.

It can be fixed if u jailbroken the devices. Change some settings.

Else, u have to wait for celcom to join Official iPhone supplier and the new network settings updated from itunes sync.

Btw, i think the setting is evil.

When i was using my digi before digi official iphone supplier, i can disable the gprs charges using fake apn/username/password.

but once digi in official iphone 4 network, whatever i set wrongly, it will just go thru and keep charging me my gprs charges.

And no refund from digi as they say it is not there problem. but it is their problem as ios ver3 does not have option to switch off the gprs/3g setting.

Regards,
koonming

Thanks for the info but i dont understand. Turn off gprs setting? Did you mean turn off cellular data or turn off 3G?

Spoke to celcom yesterday and found out these:

- No new plans. It will just be the micro sim card.
-RM 38 is for 500 MB if you subscribe to voice + data and then you add on the broadband plan, otherwise you get 1GB limit if that number purely only for data.
-tested speed and its 384 because I am getting 314 kbps from my new broadband plan.

Purely done on my iphone, thanks to photobucket app biggrin.gif just awesome! Used to have to use pc to upload pics!

Added on September 29, 2010, 11:11 amThe lower scores below possibly due to ym running in background. I suddenly got a ym message during testing. Probably the app was running since yesterday without me realizing.

Successfully configured celcom 3G internet tethering over bluetooth for iphone 4. Guess the settings given in the forum thread indeed do work! Mobile warrior mode ON! biggrin.gif

Speed is acceptable for foruming, but I didnt stress out the connection. I know I wont be youtubing or anything of the sort, I just need some connectivity as I travel off site for my work purposes. Ping is high, so don't expect to be gaming on this thing too. If you understand limitations of 3G internet, then you'll be happy with it.

Oh and yes, I'm on RM38 package, 500MB data cap. If you purchase the plan without any voice plan, then it's 1GB.It took me 2 trips to celcom and one call to 1111 to get this truth.

I added on the package on top of my postpaid account. I'm on my first month, so I want to see how it works out. From asking both at celcom centre and calling 1111, they told me that there won't be pay per use after you hit the cap, which is very good on the wallet. Only thing is speed will be throttled to 1/5th.

eh? oh yeah lol! Yes it was resolved. I went to celcom TTDI. I took the queue for enquiries. She replaced my simcard to micro sim for free, citing possible faulty simcard.

Why faulty simcard? I told her about my problems, how I get active call forwarding and 3G seems to drop connection when I travel far(which I can get back after restarting iphone).

Most likely my cellphone isnt being handed over to the next tower properly (those in telecommunications will know what I'm talking about).

She told me to use and monitor for a few days. I just dialed 1111 on the spot (didn't leave my seat lol) and the problem was still there. Showed it to her and she took the phone.

She went through the menus a bit and told me another customer had the same problem. Waited for about 3-4 minutes and she looked through the ios menus and her computer.

Then she passed it back to me and said it was ok. Tried my phone and yeah it went fine. No more annoying messages. I asked her what did she do and she said she didnt do anything, probably it took a few minutes for the microsim to set things right.

Does this means that we have to change to microsim to get those annoying "call forwarding activated" message disappeared ?

If there is another way to solve that annoying message, then I don't know. Since my way worked, why not give it a try?

1 week before the supposed iphone 4 launch by celcom, I doubt it will be a big one. Zero adverts for this. If there is one then it will be a relatively quiet one.

then plan for maxis u didnt use?
which celcom plan u use?
hope can share
celcom = wide coverage biggrin.gif
maxis = wide coverage but sux money toooooo muchh biggrin.gif
digi = already rent celcom coverage but no 3g for certain2 area . haisss...

I'm one of them. So far from my experience, travelling across KL and into areas far out like semenyih and putrajaya, you do get 3G coverage but don't expect it to be up 100% all the time. Takat ada 3G logo but actually tak dpt data flow pun tak guna jugak

Good for you. Yeah I guess it's because of that, now no voicemail but I hardly take advantage of that. There's always sms. Plus TBH I find voicemail annoying.

Same thoughts here. imagine u rush to pickup a phone call, only to realise it's an auto call back message by celcom alerting that u have unheard voicemail. damn irritatting  vmad.gif

Oh dear god YES ! The worst ones are when you're dreading the phone ringing due to possible unwelcome calls (due to work) and when you do answer it you get a f***ing robot saying "Hi, this is a message from your mailbox". mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif Felt like choking the idiot who thought that this would be a GREAT idea.
