Went to that Maybank Treat Points Fair. Couldnt find your previously mentioned package. Was it really V series? 50"? Even if it was 42" I dont mind. Which booth? Please let me know. Went around twice. Even asked some booth which sells TV if they have Pana in their stock. Apart from Carrefour which only has X series cant find any others.

Thanks.

I am interested in the budget plasma category 50". Which of the three manufacturer's product represent the most value for money? it seems all three has its own strengths and flaws.

1) Samsung PS50C430
2) Panasonic TH-P50X20K
3) LG 50PJ350R

Any views on this or are all of you Panasonic Plasma's die hards?

Since there are only 3 choices for you to choose, it is better for you to compare them with your own eyes and ears.
You have your own preferences while others have their own.
Some prefer Samsung because it has more features than the others.
Some prefer LG because of its price.

As you have mentioned, all three has its own strengths and flaws, which one do you like most?

HeHeHe, if you are a fan of one brand, then no need to ask for recommendation. Just go and buy that brand and be happy with your new purchase.

RM2499 from sen Heng is a good deal.

there is one seller selling P42A28 at Rm2280 cash n carry.

so, u pay extra Rm200++ for the sen heng service is acceptable.

UK V20 is the same as our V20 issit? if ain't the same then can't gauge the performance of our V20 even though the model is the same.

i know someone has already pointed in the pages before, but seeing that there's US, UK, Aussie version i'm quite lost. rclxub.gif

Yeah. I was curious. The set advertised by Panasonic was P42A28 whereas the one offered by SenHeng is P42A20. I asked them why different. I dont know if it s real or not. This is my first plasma by the way. The salesman said A20 is actually a special series just for SenHeng. But specs is exactly the same as A28.

By the way guys, need help. I played some TVB DVDs ( The series on Astro Demand, But I bought DVDs). The aspect ratio is not correct. I tried adjusting. But cant. 16:9 still cut them off at the head. How to rectify this? Does not happen with other DVDs. I have tested.

to all panny sifus here. since i'm going to get this P50U20K, i would to ask a step by step break in process for my plasma. what setting should i use (contrast, brightness & others) for the first 100 hours or 200 hours (which one correct?) and heard that there's some term of "wash out screen" needed during the break in period. Can anybody help to clarify and provide all the nice step for all Panny going to be user..... icon_rolleyes.gif

On the aspect ratio, set to just.
Go to Mian Menu - Setup - Other Settings - 16:9 Overscan - try ON or OFF.

i will go for LG 50PJ350R, take a look of this from avsforum

"From what I remember, that samsung is a very interesting plasma (like the LGs), and it has a great video-processing with SD sources (also the LG is very good). But it has not the complete calibrations features present on all the LGs (no CMS on that samsung, and no other things - read the user manual), and that is an important thing to take in the considerations, because it is related to the picture quality. By my point of view, that thing is much more important than the energy consumption. In any case, I guess that the samsung and the LG PJ, when calibrated in the same way, both have more or less the same consumption.

Another important thing is that it looks like the black level (MML), unfortunately, this year is not so great on samsung(s). Read that review on avforums. On the LGs PJ, in a german forum it has been reported they have the same (more or less) good performances of the PK550, which is about 0.045 cm/mq (average).

Hope that help"

For display, our V20 is Infinite Black only without the Pro. Europe V20 is with Infinite Black Pro. For better comparison on display, check out the review for Europe G20 or US G25.
