I am interested in the budget plasma category 50". Which of the three manufacturer's product represent the most value for money? it seems all three has its own strengths and flaws.

1) Samsung PS50C430
2) Panasonic TH-P50X20K
3) LG 50PJ350R

Any views on this or are all of you Panasonic Plasma's die hards?

Have you think about Service After Sales ?  hmm.gif

Why the concern with Korean brands after sales service? Anyone in Malaysia have unpleasant experience dealing with either Samsung or LG? Please share-lah. Of cause with Panasonic, we all sleep better at night knowing their products are of high quality and there is high trust level in their after sales support.

quality wise i dont know , but definitely cheaper.. Fren said sets brought in from S'pore  can claim warranty here alrdy (not sure tho').. Heard that Panny cant do anythg altho' some local dealer complained bout other dealers are throwing crazy low prices (lower than their local cost!). Since all sets are made in S'pore, seems like Panny M'sia havent come out with a solution yet..which is also why we still see all those super low price Panny around.. brows.gif  hehehe.. But on how they brought in,we dont know loOo.. whistling.gif

I am just back from Kiasuland and the major dealers there HN & BD do not carry 50X20K at all. They claim that Panny have not launch the model yet. Maybe it is marketing strategy to sell only cheaper model to poor Malaysians. In this case no way our local dealers get 50X20K from down under dealers.

Anybody knows why our TV prices are higher than our neighour?

Tempted to buy one from there and carry over causeway. You say warranty still valid in Bolehland, right? I wonder have to pay tax?

FYI, I check and found 42V20 selling 1,499 in Kiasu dollar. That is more than RM 1k cheaper than Malaysia.

Price comparison with Singapore based on prices seen at BD:

TH-P42V20S - SGD 1,450 incl. GST

TH-P46V20S - SGD 2,799 incl. GST

50 inch V20 not available in Singapore. What a surprise?

Based on the above, I can say TH-P50V20K at RM 5.5K is "value for money". Malaysian street price is almost the same as 46" model in Singapore.

However, the price for the 42" is much cheaper in Singapore. A fair price in Malaysia for the 42" should be around RM 3.2K, not the market price now of around RM 4.2K ++.
