When you register your tv for warranty online, you can subscribe the extended warranty from Panasonic directly.

You can choose another 1 year or 2 years. The cost depends on your tv type and size. When you key in your tv serial number, they will know how much to quote you.

Anyone bought the panasonic extended warranty for either the 42V20 or 50V20? What are the prices and the differences compared with insurance and coverage given by some electical shop (eg, SenQ, Best)?

They should be overlapped. Shop warranty is by the shop, and the service call should be go to the shop or their appointed agents during the warranty period. They might then get your faulty unit to be sent to panasonic for repair, on their cost.

Panasonic warranty is needless to describe further.

By the price you said Rm489 by the shop, i do not think it is a steal. Better go for Panasaonic.

HeHeHe, if you are a fan of one brand, then no need to ask for recommendation.  Just go and buy that brand and be happy with your new purchase.

RM2499 from sen Heng is a good deal.

there is one seller selling P42A28 at Rm2280 cash n carry.

so, u pay extra Rm200++ for the sen heng service is acceptable.

P50U20K is available already at many major shops, why are you still waiting for the stock?

to all panny sifus here. since i'm going to get this P50U20K, i would to ask a step by step break in process for my plasma. what setting should i use (contrast, brightness & others) for the first 100 hours or 200 hours (which one correct?) and heard that there's some term of "wash out screen" needed during the break in period. Can anybody help to clarify and provide all the nice step for all Panny going to be user.....

Break in can be done in 2 ways. The reason for break in of a phosphor based display is given below.

During the initial life of the plasma, due to the different half lifes of the different phosphor elements, the drive voltages of the different phosphors are different. As such, some might be driven harder than the others to mature them quicker.

So during this stage, u shd avoid long viewing of static bright logos/images.

If u want to use the break in dvd, then set ur contrast and colours high and continuosly run the full screen images till above 200hrs.

If u do not want to run the break in dvd, turn down the contrast/colours for the 1st 200 hrs and refrain from long hours of static/bright logos/images. (One advise, on the panny plasma use cinema mode if u plan to not use the break in dvd).

U can mix and match the above, just remember that during the viewing of normal content to turn down contrast and during the use of the break in dvd, u hit high contrasts.

PoorMan and all out there, I just figured out that the U20 actually has another mode called TrueCinema that improves the gamma response of the U20 and could also have better blacks by a hair. I will remeasure and post my observations once I can get the chance to check. If it is indeed true, then it's really great.

Yup, confirm, its the right button to "0". one that has a square symbol with a small "+" in it. 

can i enquire .. if there is any difference aft 200hrs of watching? What the significant difference between before and after this timeframe?
Would the images be sharper, etc?

Also, how or when do i know it's time to calibrate it?

Sifi-sifu, can'rt find my V20 menu have IFC and 24P smart button in the menu setup wow............

Its motion interpolation (in my opinion done wrongly) and its supposed to improve motion handling. I am unsure if it is available on the U series, I doubt it, check yr set and see if its there.

24p is to handle 24p material. Again, its motion interpolation instead of a direct pulldown (3:3 or 4:4). I am quite sure that the U does not have this and refreshes at 60Hz with 3:2 pulldown.
