*
that's just sweet talk bro.
come 14, they're gonna say no stock and ask you to wait another 2 weeks. come that, wait another month. then again and again till they say they can't get the stocks from their supplier (or the supplier made a mistake)

because there's only left and right speakers inside the TV?
IINM there's no TV that have the ability to output 5.1 channel using 2 speakers, yet.

then again maybe i'm just ill informed.

UK V20 is the same as our V20 issit? if ain't the same then can't gauge the performance of our V20 even though the model is the same.

i know someone has already pointed in the pages before, but seeing that there's US, UK, Aussie version i'm quite lost. rclxub.gif

Malaysian V20 =/= UK V20.
For display, our V20 is Infinite Black only without the Pro. Europe V20 is with Infinite Black Pro. For better comparison on display, check out the review for Europe G20 or US G25.
*
i knew it.. US and UK V20 reviews can't be used as a benchmark to our V20. their unit came with THX mode and infinite black pro.
still a good panel nonetheless, though after a few times viewing the panel, i kindda hate dislike the not totally black screen. it has slight tint to it. very apparent during totally dark scene.

Totally (or very nearly) black? That's flagship stuff and doesn't come cheap.

Try the VT20 (3D as a bonus available after Aug2010) or even better yet, the KRP-500 if you can still find one.
*
both are over my budget. RM5k is fine by me. >RM5k is not fine by the home minister. biggrin.gif

Just got my 50" v20 today from harvey norman. Initially booked the 42" but Panasonic messed up with the stock system, there is no stock for 42' until end of the month. For compensation, harvey norman upgrade my 42" to 50" at no extra charges.

Overall, good service from Harvey Norman Midvalley. Especially the manager Mr. Leicester for his good service  rclxms.gif

considering the price difference of more than RM1k, you're one lucky guy

You are lucky if you see the black levels of U and V are the same. For most of us, V is much more superior. Save your money and buy the U smile.gif

if only the U series comes in 50"

if you could live with the highly reflective U20 screen, then grab it because RM36xx is dirt cheap for a 50" full HD plasma.
the 42V20K black would be better, but i do think the performance would only be noticeable if you watch movies in a dark room.
and not to mention the V20K bezel is not black, but kindda silverish. a deal breaker for me.

if i were you i'd get the dirt cheap P50U20K and live with the reflection.

hi guys, just wanted to find out if the current u series in the market have the rising black issue? the 50" u series is the same as which model in the us/europe?

i am torn between getting the 50" u series or pay a bit more for the bravia 46ex400 or splurge on the 50" v series (which is a little pricey). my av room is 15"x13". just to add - i normally use it for gaming (ps3), hook up to ac ryan and bluerays

thanks.
*
still have the rising black issue though not as much as 2009 models.
less rising black, with an addition of a new floating black

Because I'm trying to get the idea of 24p playback issue on the Core i3. Some say if the TV support the native 24p, then it's ok.
*
there's no issues on the core i3. tested updated drivers and core i3 supports 23.976Hz and 24Hz refresh rates. no juddering.

i know for a fact someone bought the 42V20K for RM4k in kedah. in kedah, not in KL.
huge tvs are usually overpriced up north compared to KL. so RM3.6k *could* possibly be true.

just awesome, no other comment? iron man got a lot of dark scenes, no problem with the floating black?
*
lots of dark scene with bright lights from explosions, night scenery, bullet trails, glass reflection from ambient lighting, spotlights here and there. very good movie where a plasma will show its prowess.

and good AQ too. a few scene with very low LFE. the movie got very good surround mixing. explains the 5.0 audio rating from review
