Well, few people have got their AMEX Plat CC Annual Fee waived. If you do patronise the 10X MR outlets then this card is good else better off getting the AMEX Gold CC where you get 5X for petrol, groceries, books and Utilities Auto Debit. Anyway, you can try the AMEX Plat since 1st year fees will be waived.

No problem for Shell and Caltex. Petronas is very limited. Not sure about BHP, Esso & Mobil.

I ran throw several BHP stations but they didn't display AMEX logo. Does they accept AMEX at the self service kiosk? Or do I need to get to the cashier to swipe AMEX?

why use amex when you can use mastercard and visa?

i am using amex for petrol previously until DA introduce 2% rebates for petrol.

What other benefits for using DA Platinum? I might just convert from CIMB Mastercard Platinum, if it is really good. As I know CIMB/DA (even for Platinum) call centre is pretty lousy, just like MBB.

last time i apply for petronas maybank gold they rejected it 1st round and after a few months only approve. now i apply for amex gold also they reject.... sigh

I find it odd that you have MBB Petronas but can't get AMEX Gold CC from MBB since the credit limit will be shared. Did you submit proof showing your income meets their requirement?

well unless your annual income is less than RM36K, you should not have problems getting a AMEX Gold CC since you got MBB Petronas.

Call this number 603-22958877, its their marketing department. Tell them you have a MBB Petronas and you applied for the AMEX Gold CC and was rejected. Asked them why was your application rejected and if you can apply again thru the person you talk too. If he say yes, ask for his full name, fax your application to MBB attention to the person and follow up after a week with the same person.


Maybank is the worst, once I call their Plat line at night and also no one answered the call.
