QUOTE(talfred @ Feb 9 2010, 11:04 PM) Hey all This is normal for Maybank...The slowest among the banks...Like TortoisemyxDoes anyone have experience applying Amex gold/plat cc with MBB? Was told by their cs that processing takes 3 weeks is this true? What's min CL needed to apply? I also don't know what are they checking. I apply for home loan, it took me 2 weeks for approval. Everyday call me to harass me by asking this and that , that and this. |

QUOTE(Faidzal @ Feb 11 2010, 10:37 AM) Direct Access used to be the Private Banking brand for Southern Bank. Maybank is the slowest among all. 1 week already..Still no news of the annual fee waiver. When CIMB 'makan' Southern Bank, Direct Access lived on but now under CIMB. DA is Mastercard specialist, there is a DA Visa but less benefits compared to Master. DA Master has 2% rebate at all petrol stations, has discounts/rebates at major shops like Isetan/Tesco/Giant if you buy during weekends, has 0% balance transfer for 6 months, etc. etc. If you want to apply for Mastercard, DA is the best Mastercard version IMO. For Visa, try something else (Maybank, Citibank etc.). Added on February 11, 2010, 10:45 am CIMB/DA sent a flyer saying that to avoid paying the RM50 tax by cancelling a card, the termination letter must be received 2 months before date of anniversary. Any other bank mention this? I already have 1 Master and 2 Visas from 3 different banks each, so was thinking of cancelling 1 Visa from one of the banks. So only left 1 Master and 1 Visa from 2 different banks. The Visa I want to cancel is from maybank. I have cancelled a Mastercard from Maybank years ago by going to the counter, but I don't remember if it is immediate or have waiting period. Does maybank require the 2 months time before they totally cancel the account? The Visa account is unused since December 2009 and no outstanding balance already. Anyone know? Citibank, Alliance, HSBC - all can be done less than 3 days. |

this is a good sign...
I would says Direct Access / CIMB is the only card that call to check for suspicious transactions... I am really happy if the banks called to confirm my transaction. |

For your information, there isn't any free lunch in this world.
Those maybank handphone price in the brochure has been inflated with ezypay charges, cc transaction charges and profit. Thats why you get to buy from other outlet at cheaper price. Ezypay interest is quite high. As I can remember HSBC charge a very high amount for ezypay during the good old days |

QUOTE(Syd G @ Apr 9 2010, 12:54 PM) If only it's that simple You mention flat rate, why there is an issue of compounding interest? One time charge = flat rate. So it's 5% flat p.a. Assume balance transfer amount is RM10000. 10000 Loan Amount 36 Number of payments in loan agreement (eg: monthly for 5 years = 60) 3 Number of year in loan agreement 12 Number of payment periods in a year (eg: monthly installments = 12) 5.00% Nominal Annual Interest Rate RM319.44 Value of Each Payment 0.78% Periodic Interest Rate 9.3% Annual Percentage Rate (APR) 9.72% Effective Annual Interest Rate (EIR) If you have a 9% credit card (like Maybank Amex, why bother doing BT?) Cheers! |
