Haha...then that's very early.

So many ppl are canceling their CIMB cards nowadays.
Somemore their service is damn slow. It took me 1-2 mths to effectively terminate my card and that was after numerous of calls (>10 times).
It wouldn't be a surprise if their lines are occupied everyday. laugh.gif

Maybe I should just head straight to the branch then laugh.gif . Or sleep late.

My colleagues are having the same problem with HLB and PBB also. Took him 2 hours to cancel his cards with these 2 banks via phone call. doh.gif

To be fair, i think all banks' CS are overloaded cuz of the stupid GST.

Just head to the branch for a fast cancellation. wink.gif

If the Gomen din impose the service tax, I'd be getting my AMEX by now.
Now only keeping 1 card as it gives me a savings that exceeds the tax. laugh.gif

I LOLed at your case. laugh.gif

Anyway, I've sent an email to ask them confirm my cancellation.
So I have proof of them saying my card was canceled.
If there's any future arguments, at least I have it in written. wink.gif

Maybank will send us a notification that the card has been successfully canceled while CIMB Bank will send a statement.

They're trying to retain the current base by offering auto CL increase. The same tactic is being used by CIMB and CIMB DA.
*
Citibank does the same to, they send a congratulation letter to me informing the increase of my CL smile.gif

I got hardcopy statement for my DA cancellation.

Added on January 19, 2010, 9:01 amJust checked my Jan 2010 statement, I do not see RM50 tax charged... my card anniversary month is 01, however I applied the card on July 2009 and received the card on Aug 2009, could this be the reason I'm not being charged yet?

I applied DA cimb last couple of weeks. Received it yesterday and i was quite shock to find CL they give is like almost 4 times more than my maybank. Either they made mistake or they just want to attract people.

When did you activate your card?
By right, your card's anniversary should be July/Aug rather than Jan.

That is because the credit card tax will only be charged the following month. For example, if your credit card anniversary is in 01/13, the credit card tax is chargeable in February every year.

Looking at the expiry date may not be the exact anniversary month they charge the RM50. Best to call the CS.

Around Aug 2009. But 01 is printed on my card.
The anniversary month is same with my ex-Petronas card. Could it be when you own more than 1 card that share 1 credit limit, anniversary month will be same for all cards?

But thinking about it, its really not fair for me getting charged RM50 tax for less than a year old CC...

Statement day is 18th. Will further check after i got paper statement... but I think nothing will change for this month statement...

For HLB case above holds. Got my statement for this month with annual fees but no mention of RM50 tax. Called CS and was told my annual fees in process of being waived and RM50 tax not shown in system yet. Good news is bonus points of 20,000 for keeping the card is shown in system smile.gif
