Believe you have been misinformed. Maybank does have foreign currency conversion administration fee. For VISA and Mastercard, the admin fee is 0.5% and 1.5% for all range of AMEX cards bearing the "Maybankard" logo. As for a true AMEX cards without any Maybank logo, the admin fee is 2.5%.

To make it simple for you all to compare :
Maybank VISA/Mastercard - 0.5%
AMEX with Maybankard logo/Ikhwan AMEX - 1.5%
AMEX (green/gold/platinum charge card & gold/platinum credit card without Maybank logo) - 2.5%

not true.  got an upgrade just by attaching other cards. But the bank itself got problem. Treated the upgrade card as a new card. So have to manually canacel the old card (which is another headache).

so if i want to use the sony visa card, can i use it at oversea?

i accidentally overspend my cc limit for about one ringgit plus due to my calculation mistake, and the next week, i found out that my credit limit was increased. i never apply for credit limit increase.
