QUOTE(dkk @ Dec 20 2009, 03:09 PM) I call arab-malaysian, they say the RM50 will be charge on the anniversary (next year). I call citibank, they say they have not yet been notified by bank negara, so they're charging yet. I call cimb, they said they will start charging on 1st Jan 2010. I'm going to cancel that card. This is interesting because I called Direct Access, the CS say that they are still waiting for bank negara instructions. They advised me to cancel the cards if I'm not using them actively, and reapply back when things are more "assured". No persuasion what-so-ever to ask me not to cancel my card This post has been edited by SnoWFisH: Dec 21 2009, 10:24 AM

QUOTE(zenquix @ Dec 30 2009, 04:50 PM) RM50 Parkson voucher only 8000 MBB TP. CIMB gave me a 50% credit limit increase. However likely going to cancel my DA Visa as there is zero promotions on it. No more grocery discounts DA MC is a KIV 1) 5% petrol rebate on 1st day of the month no more according to Contact Centre (no memo from HQ) 2) Only 2% petrol rebate on all days will continue. I don't drive a 3L guzzler, so I don't think I can pump RM2500 of petrol in a year just to offset the tax (means zero gain) Some discounts are nice though. 1) Grocery discounts etc. 2) Guardian 3) Starbucks CIMB is a really a Mastercard driven business... I saw today's ad in newspaper that 5% rebate is still available for CIMB Islamic Cards until 31st March 2010. Does this apply to DA as well?

DA Gold card holders that got the free offer to upgrade to plat cards, which one are you going to potong? The gold or plat one? [This Q is targetted at ppl who plan to retain their DA Cards]
I checked DA website for the benefit difference between the gold and platinum one...seems like no difference also. Both cards have travel insurance.
For DA card holders who plan to potong, please potong at least 2 months before your anniversary date, as stated on DA's website.

David83: good to hear that. I just realised, I can't find current points accumulated in cimbclicks.
The benefit of DA platinum about access to KLIA Premium Lounge, is it a benefit to all platinum Mastercard holders in general?

Haha...changing the colour of the card from gold to black lol. Well, it will blend in with most of our wallets So the transfer of the oustanding balance and points are done automatically or you have to write letter etc. manually. I guess this month will be a busy month for banks CS and a quiet month for CC agents.

I've been thinking, since DA plat is a new card issued, is the RM50 GST automatically charged upon card issuance or at anniversary date??

To the ppl who cut their DA cards, how long will it take for the card to be fully cancelled? I asked to cut like 2 weeks ago, but it still appears in my cimbclicks... @Bizmind might not so easy to get cc espec when ur still on probation. Even if its possible it will take a while since all the cc dept for all banks will be very busy with applications (termination mostly). Anyway, no harm just applying for it first (in fact, if you happen to have a bonus on a particular month, use that month's payslip! sometimes it helps )

Maybe I should just head straight to the branch then . Or sleep late. My colleagues are having the same problem with HLB and PBB also. Took him 2 hours to cancel his cards with these 2 banks via phone call. To be fair, i think all banks' CS are overloaded cuz of the stupid GST.
