QUOTE(cenkudu @ Feb 1 2010, 01:10 AM) I don't think he is looking for debit card as he clearly mentioned that he need to use the card to pay some fees upfront before getting reimbursement. I would recommend either Direct Access or CIMB. Just need ur degree cert, pay slip if any plus other docs. but you need to ensure that your company can reimburse within 20 days of the statement date otherwise interest will start to occur. Added on February 1, 2010, 1:31 amcalled SCB and they said i need to wait until the annual fees is charged before they can waive it. anyone has experience this with SCB or other banks? how fast they will process this as I'm afraid with interest etc.. Bank Rakyat is a new credit card provider (just starting early last year or end 2008) and has small customer database. I believe they try to retain and attract more customer with this offer (plus free for life as well). because of the small number of customers you can easily reach their customer service without any hassle. the highest level of card they offered is gold, no platinum ic...another question, what's the different between normal cimb bank credit card and direct access? seems like 2 different products as shown in cimb website. another thing, i saw there's ACCA Malaysia sdn bhd direct access card. since i am pursuing acca, is the card for me?

QUOTE(leongal @ Jan 31 2010, 03:17 PM) Looks like only BSN, MBF and EON Bank can waive the RM50 tax totally with some transaction, otherwise we have to pay it by using our "hard-earned" (for me, it does) point.

QUOTE(kanethesun @ Feb 1 2010, 09:48 AM) QUOTE(roy918 @ Feb 1 2010, 11:40 AM) No. PBB Flexipay charges 2% for 6 months installment, 3% for 12 months installment or 6% for 24 months installment. CIMB/DA 0% smart flexi pay plan only apply to education, insurance and hospital bill (refer here) CIMB/DA i-pay plan charges 2% for 10 months installment, 4% for 20 months installment and 5% for 30 months installment (refer here) PBB flexipay charges interest upfront Thanks for the clarifications. The PBB link on the flexipay is misleading since the big words show 0% installments, but fine line under it says got handling charges depending on installment duration.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jan 30 2010, 12:10 AM) Well, there's nothing special about AMEX as compared to Visa and Mastercard in general. As a matter in fact, Visa and MC is more widely accepted as compared to AMEX. The merchants don't care what card you have as long as the transaction can go thru. Having said the above, AMEX Gold Credit Card does give you 5X reward points for Petrol, Groceries and Utilities which works out to be about 2.5% cash back. Go to AMEX site and check it out. If you dont spend much on petrol and groceries then you won't miss much. Also, since November 2009, AMEX is giving 15% cash back at malls in Klang Valley which is something other cards can't beat but the cash back have a maximum payout of RM4 million. oh. i see. Thank you!

DA Visa groceries rebate at Tesco & Giant ended on 31.12.2009. Now DA MasterCard got 5% rebate on every Saturday & Sunday at Tesco & Giant. Wonder why seldom ppl use Diners Club cards?

Hi all, I have something to ask.
I would like to upgrade my VISA classic to GOLD card, do I have to contact my agent to help me to handle or call the bank directly and handle by myself?

Either way will do , the fastest way is to get to download a card upgrade form , attach with ur salary slip and fax it to them , then call in to CS to ask about the status

Basically CIMB's generic cards has a wider base since its less restrictive in terms of membership. DA on the other hand is strictly for graduates & professionals, thus "denotes a perceived higher status" but in terms of benefits are no different from CIMB's generic offerings. The DA ACCA cards are meant for members of ACCA, not students, thus you will have to qualify first This post has been edited by tgeoklin: Feb 2 2010, 07:35 AM
