if you can develop other body parts muscle as per desired, i think you can develop your chest muscle as well...it's just that, it's not that easy...as pectoralis major has bigger terrain compared to biceps or triceps...furthermore, this guy does not hit the gym and doesn't even have any dumbells...wether you are genetically gifted or not, just to get lean or a nice bulky chest is achievable...need a lotsa hardwork and it consume times...

ya, thats what i want to say..my chest do develop, just abit slower and takes long time too...haha

how many reps you usually done ?? too many ?? just add more weight by wearing weighted vest or just wear the backpack ...make sure you feel the hypertrophy...

i do 25 push-ups for 2 variation each set. 1 min rest between sets. around 5 sets a day. i sometimes put 5kg weight on my back though.

yeah and i do think it's genes too cause my family members are all skinny lol. and yes, not everyone can afford to go to gyms you know. :l

I feel that the carb cycling thing is lowering my lifts. I've been cutting my rice/oatmeal intake into half for the past 3 weeks I today suddenly when I do chest, lifting 60kg on incline for 8 reps felt like lifting a ton. I have been sleeping a lot for the past 1 week, 12+hours, and still I want to sleep more.

Does the pain like shoot to your legs or does it just stay at your back? Now I want to lie down on your bed facing the ceiling, try if you can lift your legs by flexing your  hip joint and with your knees extended, is there any pain when lifting it? Try lifting it as high as possible until you reach 90deg.

At the point of the most pain, is there any pain when you press it?

Looks like it's just some strain.

But then if you feel it really needs checking out, Melaka Hospital's orthopaedics department is really good and I think it's free. Wait you're in Melaka?

Sorry, but I couldn't resist highlighting that part out lol

Anyway to those of you having back problems, perhaps this will help:

http://robertsontrainingsystems.com/nlarch...r+14th%2C+2009/

http://robertsontrainingsystems.com/nlarch...r+21st%2C+2009/

http://robertsontrainingsystems.com/nlarch...mber+5th,+2009/

But anyway, lots of foam rolling or rolling with a tennis ball will definitely help. Also, focus on some glute activation work.

If your back pain does not allow you to squat or deadlift, consider alternatives such as reverse lunges, lunges, bulgarian split squats, single leg romanian deadlift etc.

Really good read, thanks!

And I forgot about all those other exercises. I think I was just too scared to try anything in case I did more damage. =/

hi !

i am a very thin guy and hard gainer and i almost have no mass on chest(ribs are visible) and i cant even do a single push-up .

but last 3 weeks , i try my best to do push up 50x every night , 50 times seat up and i lift a baldi filled with 10 liter of water 60x for 7 days and supplied with a dozen of 250ml dutch lady low fat milk ( i studied in a boarding school where there isnt a any weight or equipment)

suddenly i noticed a very sudden change . my tricep grew bigger , my chest grown bigger than any other average guy in school ( my rib is not visible after that) and my abdomen shown visible packs .

but i guess my chest didnt grow after that because push up didnt really work on me (maybe wrong technique ?) coz i didnt feel any pain on my chest except for exhausted only .

i'm thinking of build my body ( especially on chest ) till year end holiday finished .

so can you guys teach me how to build body especially on chest part ?

and should i take supplement ? between whey protein and gainer what should i choose ?

my list is ON 100% Protein and Cytogainer , what should i choose ?

and should I play sport during bodybuilding period ? i play everyday (football/rugby)

sorry for broken english thanks !

Though i'm a newbie, i'd recommend u to look at the Stronglift 5x5 method.

Florian - How's your carb rotation like ? When the carbs are high, gotta keep the fats low and vice versa.

desvaro - nice link , I almost forgot I had the videos damn. Also check out their products inside-out, magnificent mobility, bullet proof knees, indianapolis seminar, building the efficient athlete. Can be found 'online if you look hard enough.

alzaim - whole foods man .. whole foods .. or some quality whey products . The nitric oxide dilates your blood vessels, it doesn't help shuffling nutrients besides giving you a pump (which I think is a highly placebo effect).
