Sigh, went to a semi-ghetto gym in Penang with a masters BBer in charge there. He said my arms are good, then he said I don't need to ask you to remove your shirt, I know you chest are tiny. He's 60+ and he has bigger chest and a deeper cleavage than mine. Going there to let him train me tomorrow afternoon biggrin.gif.

Jesus, if your chest is tiny, I'm never ever showing my face there. XD

It's not hard to be bigger than me. tongue.gif So, I just take it as a bit of motivation to get bigger. Sadly though, that's not happening anytime soon. Was at the doctor's, and he told me to lay off the weights for at least 6 weeks due to me having lower back pains. =/

Meh, its for the best, I guess. Don't wanna have a lingering back injury.

Nevermind even getting to the gym. If you've overtrained, as pizzaboy said, you'll feel like shit. Hell, you might not even have the will to get out of bed.

I can really engage my lats by doing pullups, especially wide grip. It takes so much more effort to do them well as compared to pulldowns.

After finished working out, the gym owner ( who used to be my trainer ) accidentally saw me writing what i workout today in my log book. so he catch a glimpse and said to me that its not suitable for us to do 5 reps x 5 sets. he says that it suitable for westerners more and we, asians more suit to 6 reps x 4 sets which we need to increase load every set. I don't know whether its true but i'm going to try it this saturday. he said it will increase growth faster than 5x5.
*
Different set/rep ranges are for suiting different goals, not the race of the individual. At least that's my opinion.

folllowing yesterday's advise obtained herein, today i tried bicep curl started at 70lbs x 15 reps x 2 sets and 80 lbs x 10 reps x 1 set and 7 reps.

I din expect myself to be able to do that.  Normally i warmed up at 60lbs then increased to 70lbs.  Today just tried kao kao and i did it so damn happy right now.

will try and slowly will conquer the weight lifting area, lol.

thanks to all ya  notworthy.gif

QUOTE(de.crystal @ Oct 13 2009, 11:15 PM)
Dear All thanks for the advise and sarcasm, tried weight lifting today to tone my bicep.

Initially started at 10kg, it was not as heavy, as normally when i used bicep curl, i could go up to 20-30kg.  Prolly because I was still new, i sort of like twisted my wrist, so i reduced it to 5kg.  My wrist was not comfortable yet slightly better than having 10kg.

Realised that when i lifted, i used both strength near armpits, causing my armpits were very closed or even touching my body (dont know how to describe).

Anyway, i made the 1st move.  I shall move on the squat etc smile.gif

thanks again love love

Forget your bicep curls and do the compound exercises mentioned earlier. Seriously.

yes i understand and i did read.  The problem is everytime when i tried to do it, i forgot already.  So my plan is not focus in 1, once manage the skill only do the rest.  Instead of everything also cin cin cai cai finish it.  since i was already in gym and yet did not know how to use others, might as well do biceps lor so that can fully utilise my gymming time mah smile.gif

This is exactly why you're not going to progress. You don't have your priorities or goals set straight. And from what I see, you don't even have the determination to train since you can't even remember what to do in the gym. Seriously, if your memory is that bad, write the workout down in a notebook and bring it to the gym.

The body sure is an interesting thing.

In the 2 months I haven't been lifting due to my back injury, I've managed to add half an inch to both my forearms and a 1/4" to each of my arms as well from just pull-ups and push-ups. And my diet hasn't been as good as I would like it to be either. Though, its depressing not being able to do any leg work as anything that puts pressure on my lower back or causes it to bend or arch to a certain degree causes me to feel a really sharp pain at the bottom of my spine which in turn causes me to lose my balance and most probably buckle under the pain. unsure.gif

Meh, really bittersweet time right now, for me.

Just curious.
