It really sounds very basic. Play with tempo, stretch the fascia and contract your muscles hard and lift weights.
Nothing special about it

I'm not sure it's the same stretch as the pilates stretches.

This is a fascia stretch. In weightlifting, what we do is, static stretch our legs before our squat sessions, to encourage more recruitment of muscle fibers. Then after each set of squats, we stretch it as well. Whether or not it works, I don't know. But if you've seen the size of my legs, you'd think it works.

where? i think i missed it

I do 5x5 for compound exercises and maybe throw in some 10x3's as well for the pump.

One thing I dislike about the 5x5 is the lack of pump. You?
*
the reason is you not go heavy enough? i get fatigue like hell after squat sweat.gif

Just a question here, on the 5x5 stronglifts, is there a specific exercise that we should do? Or can it be applied to all exercises?

Added on October 4, 2009, 2:53 pmthe idea is to shock the body after the layoff
*
dont be sturborn dude, chaging the program wont make you die.

and what is the reason to shock the body after layoff?

your strength probably will drop after your long rest, so start lower weight

don't be stone minded, scared of doing deadlift then lower the set or poundage. if your program is 5x8x100kg, do it like 5x5x100kg, or 3x8x100kg.
do a lil change wont make your ball shink doh.gif

Errr, how to static hold for the ankles? tongue.gif
A sprain on the ankle was a major pain in the arse. I don't want it to happen again.
*
lack of flexibility or forming at trigger point at your shin may limit your ankle movement, thus causing a futher injure?

Google for it biggrin.gif

but i did you a favour. owed me a cup of whey! lol

Oh, I have pretty good mobility on my ankles.
It's just that after a terrible sprain from stepping on some dude's foot, I'm a bit tulanated that my ligaments are not very strong.

But hey, that's still a pretty good site! A cup of whey it is. Belanja when our gathering takes place (if it ever happens).

guys, i wonder is it okay for me to stick to the same weight for 2 weeks since my gym only have 2.5kg plate the lightest. since stronglift recommend 2.5kg per week, i plan to do 5kg 2 weeks meaning first 2 weeks is using same weight then 3rd weight is only increase 5kgs. is it okay?
*
stronglift 2.5kg per week? dude, it is 2.5kg increment each workout, 1 week 3 workout, it is total of 7.5kg increment weekly

do it 5kg increment weekly. as long as you use the good form you will still gain.

de.crystal..you really like a baby child.. expect so much of spoon feeding..

1st you need to do is stop asking and do your study
- understand what is compound stand for (not watching youtube, go and understand why do compound excercise?) (Link)
or go www.bodybuilding.com, there is alot of useful jornal there.

2nd dig a big hole and bury all the machine excercie or isolate excercise, back to basic, learn how to do 5 big compound (Squat, Bench Press, Overhead press, Row, Deadlift)
- stop telling you scare this scare that, start from low weight! know your limit. start from low and progressive increment of poundage instead of start with heavy and stucked under the bar or get yourself into hospital.

3rd- Fxxking do your study, i am now spoon feeding you, lai, open your mouth
-go and see this link, it teach you how to do the 5 big compound http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beg...aining-program/
-Download the ebook here! read all before you ask anything http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-ebook-download/

i don't know why i am so kind today wink.gif

I foresee questions like;
"What if I don't have squat rack?" "People say it's dangerous to squat" "I don't know how to squat" "Will I get shorter?"

Also I've found the secret to improving dramatically in whether powerlifting, bodybuilding, weightlifting, strongman or any sport. Well it's not that secret, but I'm sure many don't know it.
Ask me ask me!

I really have to respect de.crystal's guts.
Despite kena flame kaukau, he still sticks his head in here to ask and participate.
And he never once responds negatively or argue back with some sarcastic rhetorics despite all the sarcasm we throw at him.

OK, he has passed H&F's brutal orientation.
Perhaps we can afford him some respect (as another human being)?

that's why i was feeding him so much, there's a reason biggrin.gif

Hey good luck! Seriously.

I did 4 sets of 4 back squats today with a different technique. High bar and narrow stance (exactly shoulder width) to put more emphasis on my quads. Bloody creepers left my leg wobbly alright. Then I tried to squat 180KG after those sets, and got pinned like a bloody pancake.
*
lol, good idea, i might want to try it too.

today squat is succeed! thumbup.gif just that the 4th and last set i rest up to 6min. and the last set last rep a bit cacat form
and i have a question, how come my left lower back tend to damn fatigue after a heavy squat? what is going wrong? spoon feed me please smile.gif

Overcompensation, probably due to tight tissues.
*
any idea how to fix it myself?
massage?

i read somewhere there is a decompress of the lower back after heavy squat and deadlift. hanging from the bar like pull up, hold your breath for 5 s, and slowly breathing and release your muscle and hang it as long as you can up to 60s, but i can only manage for around 20s, using strap will hurt like hell
