This is the reason I think why it got out of stock. I think they sell to clients who buy outright with hotlink even if they didn't book. That is why TTDI is totally out of stock. Even worst than machines.

And they better not say I can't buy outright with hotlink cause I already switched my plan from value plus 50 to hotlink to cater for this i3gs. Darn.

my small question to all newly collected iphone 3gs owner. when phone collection time ur new phone izzit a sealed unit? means still wrap in transparent plastic bag...

Sigh, I am rather speechless now reading a few pages back that I think it's going to be a matter of fact that I will have to wait till the 18th only can get my phone. Worst of all, I'll be outstation for a week by then.

FYI guys, I am one of them who pre-book my phone at the early stage at Machines 1U. The collection date should be on the 31st of July, morning. Today would be Tuesday, after 4 days of patiently waiting, no news, no call, no message, no email, no nothing.

Call Machines? What's the point of constantly listening to wait till we call you? Darn. This is really being so unfair. Maxis totally screwed this up. Honest speaking, I am not excited on the phone at all now, at least not until I get it.

know what? i guess many of the prepaid user just ask the stock is there any i3gs left , if yes, they just rush to get a sim card and pay for the i3gs.

It is like no such thing with pre-booking just be fair with pre-bookers please.

Many places also facing the same problem even i booked at 30th i also have to wait til 18th which is the 2nd day of my trial exam.

We should complain to maxis that they shouldn't give the i3gs to others who shouldn't collect their phone so that early.

You can request to open it up by yourself in front of them,cz they need to do activation. They are willing to let as long as you ask. I open up by myself cz I'm not shy upon opening up my virgin phone...

Yes, all wrap up nicely. I bought mine from Machines & Switch. Both let me unbox myself. Actually they don't need the phone for activation or anything like that. If you're postpaid, just tell them the plan that you want and your phone number. If you're prepaid, just give them the Hotlink card & IC to register.

Added on August 4, 2009, 9:43 amMachines gave me back my deposit in the form of store credit and I cancelled my booking just 2 days after I made it. That's OK with me but I'm sure you'd prefer cash.

yesterday i went to Maxis Center st Seberang Jaya for booking my Apple...
the staff ask me want to tied contract or just buy via prepaid plan...n i said i just want buy it without tied the contract aka via Hotlink prepaid plan...

the staff said need to wait until 18 august but he told the 18 august is not sure...n he just took my name , mobile number , n my e-mail without need to pay deposit.so just waiting for their call...

the staff i meet yesterday is nice. some staff in other places is tight face...sux!!

I collected my 32gb on saturday, last night maxis sent me a email, sms and followed by call says my phone collection delayed to 18th august, strange,
MAXIS really mess up with the iphone delivery.

Finally, Maxis email me someones details to collect my iphone from Kuching, im in KK.

aisk.. i pay my booking at 27 july. called them, Maxis Center Ampang Point just now and they say i will have to wait another week or so to get the phone.. they said those that booked on july will have the first priority for the 2nd batch of stock and those who booked on the august will have to wait probably after 26 August.

anyone here that receive msg from maxis that telling ur iphone has been delayed?

If U have read through the last few pages, U'll notice quite a few forummers have reported they've received the email from Maxis telling them to wait till 18 August.

just called maxis 123, asked them abt my booking status, they estimated the earliest arrival of stocks is on the 18/08 however they cant commit to the date, it could be earlier or later so in other word, they are telling us nothing! ...

guess all of us demand a refund then they would probably commit to a date.

Both Machines or Maxis did not email, contact or sms me about the delay of the iPhone. Is that good news or bad? I phoned Machines 1U last sunday and they said they're clearing out stocks for those who prebooked from 18th to 21st. 22nd to 24th will be this week. They assured me they'll phone me today, just don't know when. Don't wanna put my hopes too high, optimism will lead to greater disappointment.

I do my deposit on 21 July but till now still no result, call machines MV they say today might have shipment but now already what time? 2pm+.... No call.... Seem like today luck not gonna on my side... All my friend booked at sunway & 1U machines are already get their phone.... Sad!!!!!!!

You may also need to know that the ones sold in America is locked to AT&T. Plug in any other SIM cards and your iPhone will not work. iPhones sold in certain countries, Malaysia included, are officially unlocked.

iPhones sold in America are required to be unlocked with a 3rd party software, but that will void your warranty.

I found an officially unlocked iPhone in UK before, it cost a lot more than what's sold here.
