2490 is reasonable for a new customer
its the way maxis put the plans for existing customers that pisses me off

for existing customer they should give more incentive but this is like a smack on our faces zzz
*
Am Absolutly agree...but no choice. Maxis is the only carrier to bring in Iphone.. Well...Even buy outright also cheaper comparing to NZ or Aus with nowadays rate.

hi guys, i am planning to buy iphone 3gs from maxis but maybe in 2-3 months time. My question is, from past experience, does maxis suffered shortage of iphones after the launching date? like waiting period of 1 month or more for new stock to arrive? (Assume the booking date is August onwards) >.<
*
Well, normally it depends on different area. Some area demands on iphone is more,so will be shortage. But most porbably you won't have to wait for 2-3 months.

have anyone tried booking under prepaid plan yet? i meant by anyone went to any maxis center and book directly under prepaid plan. not online booking.
*
I went to book it a maxis center miri branch. If you are not a prepaid user,u just buy a prepaid from them for RM 8.80. The they will register it under ur name, then they will help you to book it online. After that,u just pay RMN 200, and they will give you a receipt. Once you book, you will recieve the sms showing the reference number. But make sure your line is activate. You can put in any existing number despite maxis in booking form. But have to make sure the line is activate to recieve the confirmation sms. You will recieve the 2 reciept print out from the Maxis. one is RM 200 and another is RM 8.80 for the prepaid. In the receipt of RM 200,there got written deposite for Iphone.

i don't know how much is the credit inside. i just want the phone, so i just blindly agreed on anything he suggested  laugh.gif

so far, i still haven't receive any confirmation letter yet. lucky didn't wait for the letter.
*
If you have hotlink prepaid, you don't have to rebuy again. You can use it to purchase outright. Try to check in your junk mail. It might be inside. I also found the confirmation in my junk mail. Normally if u book yesterday, you will recieve your confirmation email by today.

Haha...I've been using a crappy LG for more than 2 weeks already because of selling iPhone 3G and waiting for 3Gs. Now still got 2 more weeks to go. When I get my 3Gs,it should be 1 month without iPhone. Really suffering.

According to Machines@1U, it all depends whether Maxis will supply them with enough stock or not, which for some reason, the Machines ppl are not very convinced they will.

So short answer is, we'll know in 2 weeks time smile.gif
*
Should be able to recieve it. Cause we pay deposite in advance already. The stock might have arrive Malaysia already. Just waiting for the time to hang to the prebook customer

Just don't think too much. Maxis is a listing company. Since the company let us choose when we can collect the phone, then we just wait. If we don't collect on that day,we can just complain kao kao to the maxis. If the lawyer, can as well sent the lawyer letter to them. Because they have bridge the law on arrival date.

If I were to get my 3GS from Maxis next Friday, assume that I am getting the hotlink plan, do I have to use only the hotlink simcard in order to activate the phone? I am planning to use the phone using singtel simcard after that so if the activation has to be with hotlink simcard, how long will it take for the activation?
*
Sure can. Malaysia set is official unlock. So you can activate with any sim card.

Hey guys!!!! 6 more days to go....Hope everything will be so smooth.. So which means we need Hotlink sim card to activate the 3Gs if we purchase using prepaid to have the 500mb free, righty? If we use our existing postpaid card to activate, the 500mb won't be given to our Hotlink sim card? But isn't that we have already register our Hotlink number with the iphone 3Gs booking?

@lucas_lik,
We ored explained the i3GS will be activated using the prepaid/postpaid line which qualifies U to purchase the i3GS.  Hence if U use the prepaid method U will need a prepaid SIM.
*
Thanks for your explaination Tinkerbel. Just feel curious cause since is already official unlock,it should can be activated by any sim card. Does it means that if using prepaid purchase,we have to activate by hotlink sim card to obtain the 500 mb every month? Thanks and sorry for any misunderstanding.

Mr Kong
Nobody knows when will 4g iphone comes out. Many is just expecting. We never know what will iphone 4th generation looks like until Apple lauch 4th gen iPhone. Please be patience until next year. Because normally Apple lauch new products every year. No matter what you see or heard, those are rumours. Still remember how people predicted iPhone 3rd gen looks like. But who knows it lauch just like the 2nd gen shape. But with better hardware.

Yes,you can. Rename your iphone 2g first. Back up your data using the selective name. Then insert your new iphone 3g/3gs, restore from the "selective name".
