Yeap agree with you that Maxis is pushing us all for the 3GS. It's quite amazing that until now they are still the only tel-co who manage to get iPhone though.

I thought this time around the price is pretty reasonable. Just booked mine. iPhone 3GS 32gb Black to be collected on the 31st of July.

Waiting for confirmation mail but already receive SMS.

1. is the current prepaid plan is for limited time / promotion only?
2. is there any possibilities that the price will change in the near future?

thanks!!
*
Not sure if it's limited time only but base on the previous generation, the pricing will most liking only changed when Apple launches new version again.

Update guys: for those of you who opted to collect at Machines @ 1 Utama, it's not possible to place your RM200 deposit yet, coz Maxis never informed Machines on the iPhone3GS launch and even the branch manager don't know what to do tongue.gif

Guess I have to wait until they sort this out. Either that, or go straight to a Maxis owned (not licensed) outlet...
OMG I booked mine there. Hopefully by the 31st we would get a clarification on this.

But you you plan to pay your RM200 booking fee? The latest you have is 5 days from now... According to the FAQ:

2) When should I pay? Do you accept credit card/cash/cheque?
Please make your payment within five (5) days from your booking submission
date or by 24th July 2009, whichever is earlier. We only accept cash or credit
card.

Yeap it is five days from now which mean I will need to pay mine by the 20th as stated in the SMS.

From my point of view
i dont think so
the extra charges will be charged towards maxis not towards consumers..I THINK
*
Hopefully it works like that. Would appreciate if anyone can clarify on this. Would prefer to pay by card for safety purpose.

On my side I think this would definitely be the best time to get the iPhone well at least you are paying for most of the function that it should have previously say if you are not a gadget freak I'm pretty certain that the 3GS will last you for at least 2 to 3 years.

Double post zeropulse.

Well like I mention unless you want to chase the technology depending on individual. Just like computer, I am still comfortable with my Core 2 Duo laugh.gif

I wouldn't say the 3GS have the best spec but at least it is up to standard and worth an investment.

@xenohawk,
Yes it works - it's been trialed and tested.  However, DiGi doesn't currently provide 3G speed, just EDGE.
*
Okay, sorry for being noob. I assume that WiFi is faster than 3G and 3G is faster than EDGE? Correct? sweat.gif

If Ur connected to Wifi U don't really need the data services from the telco biggrin.gif

Yeap I understand that was just wondering which is faster and if WiFi is everywhere then why is EDGE and 3G is necessary?

QUOTE(johnliew @ Jul 17 2009, 04:02 PM)
I just paid my RM200 at Machines @ 1U. Got some bad news for you folks. According to Kean (or Kin?), they can no longer guarantee whether there will be enough iPhone for everyone who paid RM200, since the demand is too high. According to him, 1U branch alone has about 70 booking (as of lunch today) and response on all the other Machine branches have been overwhelming too. I asked him if I camp outside Machines@1U during 31st, would it help? He said, might not help at all, because they might follow the booking order - i.e. order of who paid the RM200 first with them. So my advise of now is to shy away from Machines and go to true blue Maxis Centers to book yours (e.g. Maxis TTDI, Maxis KLCC), IMHO.
*
I will be very disappointed if the system goes that way. It means money is their concern. I think it would be more fair if the queue is run by serial number. Whether you pay first or not, as long as you book first then you are in the queue. Guess we will never know how it goes until the 31st sigh sad.gif

Just came back from MACHINES@1U. Paid my RM200 deposit cash and receive an official receipt. Did not bother to ask much but everything went well which cost less than 10 minutes.

What I do is just past him my email print out and fill in a form that he gave. If you guys are wondering why choose MACHINES, I can give you two good reason.

First of all you are entitle to be a member of MACHINES for free just because you buy the iPhone from them. Secondly you will get RM20 voucher upon purchasing. Wow no harm at all more over they have bunch of accessories and other Apple product.

Zeph, you also booked the iPhone 3G S?  rclxms.gif

Not sure what's the best way to estimate the usage. Like a car's FC, I'm gonna go on an average usage rate for a couple months and see whether I've over / under used the data..
*
Yes Scott. Remember I mention to you in Facebook? icon_rolleyes.gif

IMO it would be very good and convenient if Maxis is able to provide a system to check our usage as simple as checking our prepaid credit left.

All you need to do is just to request for the configuration and install it just like how we do in normal hand phone.

As far as I concern, Machines does have RM20 voucher but I can't confirm this as I did not bother to ask but it's stated at their counter.

@zad78,
I onli put in my online booking this afternoon and I chose to pick it up from Machines, 1Utama, 10-2PM.

Maxis KLCC is however full till 2nd August if I ain't mistaken.

Hey tinkerbel in that case we will be collecting on the same day same time so probably we could meet up or something as LYN member smile.gif

I haven't place down my deposit yet.

Today is the last day and I've been hearing rumors that Maxis going to release new upgrade plans for existing user when coming near to the launch date.

Sigh, I'm still contemplating at the moment. Wait or not to wait for the new plans, that is the question now....
*
IMO even if Maxis is going to release some other plan, it wouldn't happen in a short period as this action may cause a huge unsatisfactory among those who just bought the phone.
