@vin_ann,
So as long as the merchant accepts Amex they don't really care if it's a Charge or CC biggrin.gif

Err~ I think 15k is a standard limit for every Miau Bank Gold Card?
Not true at all.

QUOTE(vampbreak @ Jul 9 2009, 12:32 PM)
That why I'm a charge card fan. Amex work like a charm and accepted widely overseas. Miau Bank Card good for backup....and installment plan.. tongue.gif
*
Not in Japan. Heck, not even in the US due to higher merchant fee imposed. But a friend told me a US co-branded credit card charge almost the the same merchant fee as AMEX but many retailers in USA do not not about this.

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Jul 9 2009, 12:38 PM)
Maybank can issue both Amex card and American Express card
How different is Amex card and American Express card ? Amex is the short form of American Express sweat.gif

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Jul 9 2009, 01:18 PM)
is Amex Credit card also work like a charm and accepted widely overseas as their counter part charge card???
*
Not really. AMEX never had the market share that VISA and Mastercard are enjoying.

I've provided release-letter from the said bank (not CTOS printout) before, and I felt insulting by keeping appeal to get something that I deserved in the first place, I requested them to check the CTOS as I'm very sure even there's a record, its from my case and it has been settled and I've got the release letter, still my application failed

What you can do moving forward is whenever you applied for something, preempt the sales guy that you have this CTOS reports lodge against you and inform them that it's settled.

I understand your feelings but different banks got different policies in regards to underwriting a customer with CTOS records which they see it as bad credit worthiness. The problem with CTOS is they are just cut outs from the papers and didn't contain what the suit is all about, so banks dealing with mass consumer would need to have a blanket policies and rues which might not favour the consumers.

Isn't it "ignorance unless proven guilty"? So in this case, it is up to the card company to prove your guilt.
*
Actually in the cases of most financial disputes, when transactions are entered into your account, its deemed as good enough proof that they are incurred by you as a general rule. As such, its actually up to you proof that such were not incurred by you and not the other way round. As I had said, unless you are familiar with how a civil case is conducted, very difficult to explain to you. That's the reason also why a lot of sure win cases ended up differently.

U could always check if HLB can give u an increase in CL.  Otherwise try to get from a local bank - perhaps they're less strict?

Hey...isn't HLB considered a local bank? tongue.gif

Applicable only to new cardmembers whose credit card account has been opened for less than 3 months.

Upfront handling fee is charged at 1.5%.... More cheap than personal loan...

You know the principle of money makes money. biggrin.gif

It's a risky game. Make sure don't over-invest and you must reserve the fund to pay for shares in an acc, so that you will have enough fund to settle your debt after the 0% tenure.

My friends that applied, till now no news... Wonder were rejected or approved...I believe is rejected as no news but they didn't send any letter. It happened to me as well.
