QUOTE(hye @ Sep 10 2009, 10:44 AM)
Product is not a popular card that's why.
May I suggest something ... if you don't like the card then just cancel it. These days cc agents are all out to make sure they meet their targets so they will sell aggresively and not bother about whether the consumer need the card or not. Some unscrupluous ones will "apply" additional cards for you. This can happen from any banks and my personal experience is that an International bank agent did this to me. Note that some banks outsource their card marketing thus these agents are even more pressured to sell their cards to you or they don't their dough at the end of the month.

Please do not condone this ... if you receive a card that you never apply then just cancel the card. Same goes if you don't like the card and the priviledges not meeting your expectations then just cancel it.
*
QUOTE(jphlau @ Sep 10 2009, 11:12 AM)
Cancel after 3 months if not that the cc agents will fail their target as well. They are trying to make a living after all.
*
QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Sep 10 2009, 11:37 AM)
Good that you think of others. Imagine if we are in their shoes.......

So hold on to your card and cancel a few months later. After all, it makes no difference to us but it matters to other.

thanks for the reply. if i not yet activate my card i still need to call and cancel my card ah???

China Union Pay as its name imply, is use mainly in China
U can apply for HSBC, Citi or UOB oso, but some of the cards need to call to waive AF
UOB has minimum swipe requirements if not mistaken

u shud decide depends on what's ur main usage

I did compare its privileges with those credit cards offered by local banks such as Maybank and CIMB a while ago. In terms of discount and dining rebate, i'd say CIMB Mastercard is the best of all.

No credit card merchant in Malaysia accept the card.

It is now also accepted in Taiwan. Guess it will soon be accepted in all Chinese territories. So far China UnionPay users can only use their cards to withdraw for cash at all local banks ATM.

Was informed the annual fee for HSBC credit card will also be automatically waived provided you swipe it no less than 12 times in a year. Started using HSBC VISA last month, guess i will know whether they now will auto waive my annual fee a year later.

For getting second card for HSBC, it took less than a week for me to receive the card. An agent call me to ask to get second card, I agree then she came to my house to collect my signature. If you have agent to serve you, why don't use it since they earn commission as well.

But no free gift loh. sad.gif

Agree with you that getting more card is so mafan, coz you need to take care of it. Keep it in wallet afraid wallet lost, keep in house afraid break in. So less card is less risk. tongue.gif I only keep few cards only and cut those no longer use. Remember must redeem the points(if you have) first before u cut it.

Just cancel whatever cards you seldom/don't really use. My friend experienced a nightmare after a house break-in. He lost 2 CCs he seldom used, and discovered that the thief had swiped his CCs for a spending spree totalling 20k++. Although he was not liable to pay the loss, he still had to get a police report and personally go to the respective banks to show the proof.

Most CCs nowadays automatically grant waiver for 1st year AF.

i have the UOB ONE card, the most significant advantage of it is the 10% rebate at Sushi King (spending above RM50) & 2% rebate at BHP Petrol. However this rebate is not in cash, it will be accumulated and you can only claim the rebate the next time you visit those stores

in this web page stated Vox card AF http://www1.uob.com.my/webpages/p_cards_credit_vox.htm
is this new requirement?

NO Annual Fee

Enjoy annual fee waiver by just charging a minimum of RM50 per month, every year on your UOB VOX Card.

- Admin fee of RM6 will be levied on month not fulfilled.
