My wife & I swear by drop-leg packs.Never liked waist pouches, coz they're either inaccessible (when at the back) or uncomfortable (when at the front squeezing against the tank).
Bike Gear Talk, ATGATT? gloves, boots, pants etc.

I use drop leg pouches....if needed. Waist pouches never worked for me. Gets in the way of everything. Using this. ![]() Not fully waterproof , some dampness will still get in if heavy rain for long periods of time, but for short rides and lighter rain, it is fine. Good enough if you need to ride through a sudden shower before you can safely stop to shelter or put on rain gear. It's quite small. Wallet, keys, a pack of smokes + a normal sized phone. Won't fit my rugged phone, but the phone is fully ip69k waterproof so I just leave it on the mount during rain anyway. Thread has been quiet, so going to need a bump. Got a few things over the weekend. New Benkia boots. Sold by Serdang Motorsports. Tested the size then wait for sale order online. 400rm. 80bux off normal price before Lazada promo. Free ship. ![]() Material is PVC/pleather. Supposedly waterproof. Tested it in rain today...no leakage....but for how long is anyone's guess. Honestly I don't expect this to last past 2 or 3 years. Quite stiff on the toebox and heelbox. Good ankle protection. Not as easy to walk in, but it's a compromise for safety. It's a good 2 inches taller so a bit more shin coverage compared to my existing boots. ![]() Got a new duffle dry bag. 110 after Lazada 4.4 discounts. 50L. Large enough to stuff all my camping gear in 1 bag. Yellow out of stock ...pity. Oh well. It's cheap. I ain't complaining... Fit for purpose. Decent quality, obviously not up to enduristan levels...but it is 1/4 the price. ![]() Quazacolt, Nightstalker1993, and 3 others liked this post

Can still be used but I need to send to the cobblers to get some work done first...some of the stitching has begun to give way.. |

Started riding again after more than 30yrs and not familiar with biking gears especially the jacket portion; my problem is that I'm over 6ft tall and skinny whereby getting a jacket that fits will be short incl the sleeves while getting one that's long enough will be too large

Hi guys! Can anyone recommend me a fully waterproof gloves for riding in the rain? Preferably a budget one (< RM 100). I bought one from Shopee, but they are not fully waterproof. water can still intrude through the fabric in-between fingers. Thanks! harryleesbr liked this post

QUOTE(Harfan @ Apr 28 2023, 11:44 AM) Hi guys! Unless you do a lot of multiday touring and cold weather riding, IMHO waterproof gloves are not necessary. Better just carry a spare set of gloves. Doubt you are going to get good and reliable waterproofing at that price point. A typical glove has many seams and stitches and that much movement which would make any glove to be waterproof extremely difficult . Hell, for 100rm, even finding a decent normal glove is difficult at that price point. Can anyone recommend me a fully waterproof gloves for riding in the rain? Preferably a budget one (< RM 100). Waterproof gloves tend to be hot when not raining, and numbs the feel on the bar and levers. Besides, in our weather, even if the gloves are wet, they tend to dry up very quickly when riding. Better to choose normal gloves with good safety features instead. You could try to wear a nitrile surgical glove under your normal glove. This post has been edited by jaycee1: Apr 28 2023, 12:25 PM |

After a heavy rain, my gloves takes around half to 1 day to fully dried. If it's raining daily, I have to alternate between spare glove and main glove which is a bit of a hassle. That's why I'm thinking of getting a waterproof glove. Thanks for your suggestion. 007SMH liked this post

QUOTE(Harfan @ Apr 28 2023, 12:35 PM) Hmm..I see. find a spot with some air movement and heat sources to dry ur gloves. i used to put my gloves and jackets etc at the area where the aircond compressors are at if i reach the office wet.My use case is more for daily commute to work (60km/day). Thanks for your suggestion. if no heat sources, try putting it directly in the line of air flow...even aircond air is fine as long as there is airflow. if got stand/table fan even better. both will still take awhile to dry but at least it can dry. also, waterproof gloves arent cheap.. and RM100 will barely get u copy ori non water proof gloves. ori n waterproof? maybe 5-6x that price. also as others have mentioned. no point in our climate. its gonna be hot and ull probably end up regretting it.....and the gloves will still probably get wet...on the inside... from ur sweat. |
