Subang actually, but KL is convenient as well.
so far i plan to take a visit at motogear & moto world

Motogear has another branch in Shah Alam. Since you are there, also go to Welly Shah Alam. Moto World is quite near to Subang.

Do check out Bike Empire and Bike World at Old Klang Road.

3M 1110 foam earplugs... RM2.50/pair at almost any hardware shop.

no matter what helmet u wear... even if its the quietest in the world, should still wear earplugs.

not much issue hearing surroundings with the earplugs on.

some have said that musician/concert earplugs are also suitable for riding.

Or buy in shopee in bulk. Less than rm1.

I personally use the yellow 1250. Slightly better sound insulation. Slightly more expensive.

Still can hear traffic and my coms.

I find the foamies quieter, more comfortable and easier to wear than the silicon ones.

I use these, already 3-4 years liao and now only the extended tab where u use to pull the earplug out is starting to break.

Non affiliated link btw
https://shp.ee/98ipmym

Compared to foamies, it doesn't cut out as much noise so I can still listen to music etc on my comms, and also it lets in more frequencies vs the foamies which muffles everything, so music is more enjoyable too. But it blocks enough noise that it isn't painful at ultra highway speeds if you know what I mean.

3M 1110 foam earplugs - 29NRR

jaycee1 macam got two types...
3M 1250 - 23NRR (https://www.3m.com.au/3M/en_AU/p/d/v000057702/)
3M 1250 - 33NRR (https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/v000057705/)

Nightstalker1993
https://shp.ee/98ipmym (Musician silicon earplugs) - 27 attenuation

As for me, I use small earplugs, Mack's purple (31) or pink (30)
- my exhaust got stock cat, and slip on with dB killer

Patent
helmets itself can cause noise, earplugs are a must. Do you use earbuds? Some earbuds come with different sized tips, which one you use?
For me, I usually need the smallest earbud tip, out of the 2 or 3 that usually come with earbuds. Based on this, I can't use standard size earplugs for too long. I've ordered these and try them before deciding on Mack's:
- unbranded blue earplugs (regular)
- 3M EAR classic, EAR taper, EAR express, EARsoft yellow, EARsoft FX (https://www.3m.com.au/3M/en_AU/p/c/ppe/hearing-protection/earplugs/)
- Macks Purple, Pink (both smaller size)

I think the 23nrr is a typo. The correct rating should be 33 for the 1250.

They are about 100bux for a box of 200 pairs. Cheap.

Windshields also cause noise. Depends on how it directs air over/under your helmet.

I found out, Australia uses SLC80, which is different from US NRR rating.

"rated by a class system called SLC80 (Sound Level Conversion.) While NRR and SNR tell you what amount of noise reduction the product can provide when used properly, the SLC80 system tells you, instead, against what maximum noise level the device will provide adequate protection. For example an SLC80 class 1 ear plug is good for noise up to 90 dB, class 2 up to 95 dB and so on, in 5 dB increments."

So, that 3M-1250 is class 4, rated for 100 dB environment.

Good to know. Thanks for the info.

Considering even the quietest helmets in the world only manage to get in under 100db, say cruising at 120-130, just buy the best earplugs for the job.

1250 comes with corded tak? one of the main reasons i stick to 1110 besides being easy to find, is for the corded versions...n they r practically everywhere... even easier to find than non corded.

agree with foamies... i triede them silicon ones beforee (which i got for free when i bought snorkeling goggles)... the ends were too damn long that it hurts my ear really badly. foamies when installed properly can be comfy for a whole day ride.

did a ride last weekend... kl-sg petani-kl....day trip.. avg cruising was about 140-160kmh

just installed helmet speakers... n i couldnt find my earplugs anywhere n i was late... so rushed out and did the entire ride without earplugs n music blasting....and also the lovely sound of my loud exhaust on my z900.

ears felt like it was ringing for the rest of the night......

earplugs definitely a must.
