QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Dec 19 2022, 10:00 PM) Sorry but when your are riding, its better not to get distracted by having a conversation with your friends over the intercom. You need full focus and alert to ride safely. Haiya.. it's very important for us to inform each other of suicharboh around us.

QUOTE(Jason @ Dec 19 2022, 11:52 PM) Anybody got budget cam recommendation? I realize for bike I don’t need a screen or touch screen — difficult to use with gloves. If anything, need tactile buttons just to turn on and record. I've been eyeing on Blueskysea DV988, roughly RM600-700. But I also want to add aux fuse box for expansion in the future.

Thanks in advance... haha... I recommend riding boots with ECE rating first. Skin on tarmac vs crushed ankle/foot. Easier to grow skin than bones. Second is gloves. But there are affordable gloves, so should get it together with the boots. Then in the meantime can wear normal jeans and denim jacket, won’t save much skin in a slide but beats t shirt and shorts.

Thanks in advance... haha... Your 3 most important safety gear is helmet, gloves and boots. Those items should be prioritized before getting anything else. There are a few good recommendations in this thread already. Just scroll up the pages. Next up are riding pants....they could be demin or whatever material.. They won't slide well but for just a slight premium over normal jeans, they do offer armour pockets for your knees and shin, as well as hip. However the main benefit is that they are more comfortable as they have stretch fabric at the correct places and cut for riding position. Proper ones have Kevlar lining but they are expensive. Good if u can afford them.

Obviously best to completely armour up. But stats do show the most common serious injury (ie bone breaks) are from hands and lower legs. Hell, I've seen someone break a leg after falling from the titi. Especially for newer riders, most falls are low speed jatuh bodoh type. I've done my fair share of those. Don't get me wrong..I'm not saying jackets and pants are not important. But due to the fact bike gear isnt cheap, new riders should prioritize the 3 essential gears before moving to pants and jackets. This post has been edited by jaycee1: Dec 28 2022, 01:44 PM

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Dec 9 2022, 03:36 PM) Naaahh...riding on hours on end is probably more torture for the garments i think especially with the wind trying to tear it apart... My rs taichi jacket 5 years edi in coin laundry machines n still ok...looks a lil worn from ueavy usage..but its still ok. Laundry instructions? Forgot...not bothered anymore...coz coin laundry works for me...i even add extra 6mins in the drier Edit: forgot to mention, helmet padding i will put in a laundry bag...will stuff gloves in there as well.... N the helmet padding actually feels more fluffy after it comes out of the drier hahahah so prev sunday i went and put my balaclava and riding jacket into the coin laundry. just removed the back and chest plate. came out ok. really ok in fact. felt cleaner than when i hand wash it. so next day i go and put my komine jacket in there. turn out great also. smelling nice. gonna start washing everything at the coin laundry. oh the jacket instruction label specifically said hand wash only.

Soft RS Taichi jacket can be put into the washing machine safely but don't forget to take out the protectors.

I swear by the Healtech Thunderbox. It's fused, it automatically senses the switched load to trigger itself on, it's programmable and it's literally idiot-proof. Makes rigging up your DVR & aux spotlights super easy - fuck the wire splicing, relays and tapping into a switched circuit to trigger the relay etc coz all you hv to do is just plug the +ve & -ve into this baby, while it does all the rest. When you have an electronic-everything bike and you're scared you're just one bad wire tap away from a total electronic breakdown, this thing is worth its weight in gold.

QUOTE(Jason @ Dec 29 2022, 02:27 AM) Good point. Got 2 batteries, still not enough for longer trips if I ever do it. I run my Akaso 7 action cam on 720P on looping. 1 battery can last about 3+ hours. with 2 batteries, I dont see my bum out lasting it on a single day of riding. That said, a wired in solution will be much better as a permanent setup as you dont have to worry someone stealing your action cam when your bike is unattended.
