Don't think you can get proper riding pants under 200 here. Proper ones with Kevlar lining will be closer to 500 even on sale.

Incidentally, These just came in the mail.

Thick cotton/khaki type material. Single layer. Won't slide worth shit. But at least it has armour pocket on hip and knees. Paid like 70 each. Just treat it as normal pants.

I wear these on the daily to work along with my other single layer jeans. Let's face it, you are not going for a long slide in city traffic. Impact protection is more important. It's a compromise I'm willing to make for cost and comfort.

Kevlar lined is just a bit too hot in daily traffic.

Slide protection or not, these are way more comfortable on a bike than normal jeans, since they are cut for riding and have stretch fabric at the correct places....and correct lenght so you don't look like wearing 3/4 pants when on the bike.
*
where did you got these from?
nice quality for RM70.

These, I opted out of the stock armour as I have my own upgraded armour. So it's just kosong. Decent as daily pants. Just don't expect them to slide well.

Yep they are ykk zippers.

The zipper hoop for the pull broke. The zip itself is fine. So the shop just needs to replace the puller. Probably due to hard repeated use. It's a ATGATT daily jacket so it's been through more than a regular biker would put it to use.

The holographic tag is embedded onto the jacket, next to or below the label on the jacket.

If don't have, most likely it's not original

2 of my genuine komine both have the hologram logo

and 2 of the fake komines that i bought online both doesn't have it
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

quality difference between the original and fakes ones are quite apparent.
stitching quality, loose threads, overall fitment genuine komine is far better.
but it's also far more expensive.

stock padding of the genuine is better especially the chest plate.
most of the week i ride with the fakes. the genuine i wear when i wanna impress chicks ecewah rclxs0.gif

if too dirty, no choice but to soak it in water.
think of it as riding all through heavy rain, it'll soak either way.

i have a pair of fakie komine gauntlets...

i bring them to a coin laundry and dump them in with my other laundry.... even drying i campak into the drier....

i do the same with everything... riding jackets, pants, gloves, helmet liners.....been over 5 years since i started doing it and nothing has failed on me so far.

IMHO... riding gear are meant to be tough not just during the crash but also to take the constant wind, sun, rain, mud etc etc... if it can handle all that for long periods, it can handle an hour in a washing machine and drier. they arent as fragile as people make it to be.
*
nice.
i hand wash everything. everything including the balaclava.
scared it'll might get stretchy and i have to buy new ones and kena scolded keep buying stuffs.

haih.
maybe try with the fake komines.

I usually just remove the armour and throw my jackets in the washer on its own wash cycle. Then air dry. Velcro can ruin other clothes.

I don't usually use the dryer unless really urgent...and never sun my clothes.
*
Gonna start doing that.
But the labels all say hand wash only.

Maybe I'll try the gentle wash cycle.

I've been eyeing on Blueskysea DV988, roughly RM600-700. But I also want to add aux fuse box for expansion in the future.
*
For that price you should take a look at HP M550. That's the only motocam that I know that comes with Sony starvis sensor.

Naaahh...riding on hours on end is probably more torture for the garments i think especially with the wind trying to tear it apart... My rs taichi jacket 5 years edi in coin laundry machines n still ok...looks a lil worn from ueavy usage..but its still ok.

Laundry instructions? Forgot...not bothered anymore...coz coin laundry works for me...i even add extra 6mins in the drier

Edit: forgot to mention, helmet padding i will put in a laundry bag...will stuff gloves in there as well....

N the helmet padding actually feels more fluffy after it comes out of the drier hahahah
*
so prev sunday i went and put my balaclava and riding jacket into the coin laundry.
just removed the back and chest plate.

came out ok.
really ok in fact.
felt cleaner than when i hand wash it.

so next day i go and put my komine jacket in there.
user posted image

turn out great also.
smelling nice.
gonna start washing everything at the coin laundry.

oh the jacket instruction label specifically said hand wash only.

You see all that TPU reinforcements on the shifter pads on boots, they will deteriorate and fall apart even not used.

Have seen a few TCX boots which are new old stock, already falling apart. That day at a shop they were selling PU TCX boots on sale, new old stock... i ask them this same question, he just sheepishly grin...then say pick the leather ones. hahahaha.

My TPU ankle protectors on my china boots also cracking and breaking already after 2 years and 40k of use. But its no fault to the manufacturer, its just the material limitation.
*
ya better topup a bit and get full leather boots.

full length full leather adventure boots a bit hard to find locally but there are a few models being brought in.
i try to avoid any split leather, reconstructed leather, recombined leather, PU, microfibre and any synthetic material for shoes. they will never last.

Got a big bruise after the bike fell on my leg after jatuh bodoh off-road. Front slipped off a big wet rock, speed too slow, lost footing, went down. Happens a lot going off road.

Happens to the best of us.

Always gear up. New riders, wear full height boots.

Same accident if bike fell on ankle and you don't have boots, you'd be in hospital for a fractured ankle.
*
you're not wearing full height boots while it happened?

anyway speedy recovery man

go and try nolan n70-2 gt
one of the best ventilated helmet with a chin bar that i've ever tried. seem to be even better ventilated than my arai tx4 which is known for being one of the best ventilated adventure helmet in the market.

it's modular and that chin bar can be removed, but it's really low that it doesn't bother your sight.
that chin bar is really study and tested for impact.

costs RM900 and you can try it out at durian biker JB and puchong.
they don't care if you wanna buy or not, you can try without discrimination.
bring your own balaclava, skull cap or head cover for better feel.

last time i went there, i wore the helmet for half an hour but end up didn't buy haha laugh.gif

anyone knows of any bang for buck hi-cut goretex boots for RM1k budget?

or any other good similar waterproof boots?
*
best bang for buck goretex, high cut is probably sidi adventure 2.
they're sold quite cheap in malaysia.

went to try them out at chear motor when i was looking.
try and PM that seller in shopee, i think she's a salesgirl from chear. look like they have a couple of sizes in stock.

do note that the black ones are made from microfibre. sole reason why i skipped after trying them out.

yeah this one the hi cut is a lil too tall.....
currently eyeing Falco Liberty 3 and forma arbo. these are about 11inches from sole to top with similar fastening (zip + velcro). but just wondering if there are other gore tex options within budget.

mid cut boots like the falco land 3 are a lil too short for my liking
also thinking of selling my rs taichi riding pants and looking into a pair of gore tex pants too.
*
High cut is all high like that.

Falco liberty is gonna be slippery in mud and dirt. Not suitable adventure off the tarmac.

QUOTE(Jason @ Jul 5 2023, 01:10 AM)
That Sidi adventure is really way too high for street riding IMO. I see the safety aspects but too uncomfortable to walk around with it. I got the Sidi Dune instead. Chear motor HQ got it in stock, can try and buy there.

Personal observation I think boots with zipper or the quick strap system such as Sidi techno 3 is safer and easier to use than normal laces. Sadly the Sidi Dune was the old lace version. Spend more time putting it on and to ensure it is secured properly with the Velcro strap.
*
For a street bike with sporty riding position definitely not suitable.
For an upright sitting position in a touring bike it's quite comfortable.

user posted image

I sometime walk around the lab for 4 hours in these and still feel fine. One of the most comfortable boots (of any boots) that I have. Definitely more comfortable than my high cut safety boot
