Indeed very minimal upgrade from 12PM..even the new colour Sierra blue looks quite identical to 12PM's Pacific blue and to me the 20% reduced notch is barely noticeable especially nowadays everything in dark mode..if they remove the whole notch then that's a different story

ProMotion could be a drawback depending on how much bigger the battery comes with the 13..and for people who doesn't do gaming on their iPhone...i don't think the 120hz is crucial..

sigh.. well at least can look forward to the ipad mini instead

I will prefer last year blue colour than this year for the Pro series.

from the video.. I'd also prefer the 12 Pro Pacific blue.. but the real product might be different...got to wait to see the real thing.. Just didn't expect apple to use back almost the same colour + same design.. even last time the S model comes with different colour and minor tweaks..

I think Apple users all too accustomed to the Notch, no feel already unless it’s completely removed.

Two omissions disappoint me - no integration of Touch ID on the power button (we will be wearing masks for the foreseeable future) and I’m slightly unhappy about them not transitioning lightning to USB C yet. Maybe next year.

I don’t think the iPhone will transition so fast to USB-C or at all.
Few factors: the lightning port is making Apple tons of cash in terms of licensing etc, Apple thinks lightning port is better waterproof than USB C, and Many of their accessories are still lightning based to charge, eg Airpods, new AppleTV remote, Apple Pencil 1st gen etc

integration of Touch ID on the power button is going to be the next revolution for them....because it is a selling point ma......wait until there is nothing to upgrade they will throw this in

Already done so with the iPad Mini / Air (TouchID).

But thats only because there’s no FaceID sensor on those devices - doesn’t make sense to have 2 authentication method in one device, will only further drive up the cost.

Also I guess Apple is hitting a roadblock in terms of technological advancement, in fact alot of manufacturers do. Now the key highlight features is always about the camera and screens only.

Around same price or cheaper depending on which part of the states. Their state and local tax can varies around 9%-17%.

I don't see that much of an upgrade from the normal 12 to 13 - no high refresh rate display as well. If you're into photography/cinematography then the 13 would be an excellent choice, otherwise if you can get a 12 on a good deal, I'd say go for the 12 - it's a great phone albeit the battery life is inadequate if you're a heavy user and have limited access to charging points during the day.

Yeah, I thought that with the EU putting pressure on Apple to standardized the ports they might give in sooner rather than later. I do have a number of lightning accessories too so I'm not too bothered about it that much

Not much difference between 12 and 13 iPhone lineups because you shouldnt be upgrading after 1 year anyway unless you realllly want that 120hz. 13 is more so for people with XS and below to upgrade to.

Same dilemma here. As I use my iPhone on a 3 year cycle, my current X is long overdue for an upgrade. However, if next year they introduce a notchless screen and switch to USB C, I’ll definitely feel I should have waited.

Yes! I’m using the 12 pro max already super heavy plus cover all. Can really feel the weight when watching videos lying down etc. I can’t imagine the 13 pro max. Wouldn’t go heavier tbh.

About the 120hz refresh rate, i thought its already implemented in iPad much earlier. So, buyers shouldn't worry too much?

They reused the ProMotion name, but the iPad is LCD, but the iPhone is OLED.
