Not much difference between 12 and 13 iPhone lineups because you shouldnt be upgrading after 1 year anyway unless you realllly want that 120hz. 13 is more so for people with XS and below to upgrade to.

Battery-wise, 13 series seems to be a huge upgrade across the board to the point that even the mini surpasses last years non-mini.

The battery life improvement is more of an indication of how much apple screwed up the 12 series.
