12 pro 256GB with MOP 128? if yes, you get cheated lol
3986 for 12 pro is the price after subsidized last year during launch for those sign up MOP 128

unless your MOP plan is cheaper @ 98 monthly, or your phone is bigger storage 512GB

12 pro 256GB RRP is 5399, usually maxis subsidy 1400 when sign up with MOP 128

if above assumption is true, you buy something not worth at the day new iPhone just launch

with the MOP 128, after subsidized become 3986, you can get 13 pro 256GB three weeks later

12 pro still a great phone in year 2022
doesnt lose much, eventually Switch / Machine selling at discount price also RM300-400 cheaper, you get subsidized from maxis, the subsidized reduce only

extra camera extra gpu core

lossless maybe
and different compression produce different size even same resolution
just like music, photo...

the 13 pro camera bump really much bigger
the 13 pro max case, can see bit bigger bump compare to 12 pro max

apple leather case still have, but now the Apple Store is down to get ready for later 8PM pre-order


if now no buy, 3 weeks later get new phone, naked
those buying oversea have to wait week+ before arriving...

for 1 year remaining contract it wont be 1400-1800 penalty, if one year penalty is 1400, then the device subsidy have to be 2800 - 3600 for 24months contract
because the maximum device subsidize for 512GB wont be more than RM2000 even it is MOP188 24months contract

Let say MOP128 and iPhone 12 Pro 256GB 24 months
Device RRP => 5399, Maxis Subsidize 1413
If terminate after 12 months, remaining contract 12 months
(5399 - 3986) x (12 / 24) = 706.50

I twitter message maxis last week, my iPhone 11 Pro contract remaining 14 days out of two years which is 14 / 730 days, they reply me penalty is RM27.xx
Device RRP => 5599, Maxis Subsidize 1413
(5599 - 4186) x (14 / 730) = RM27.xx

last time maxis contract early termination have RM100 admin fees, but i cannot find it in the T&C page, maybe no longer applicable
most telcos use similar formula... just whether they charge admin fees or not...

even left 30days or 1month and you want to terminate, it is still WORTH, because you only pay back the penalty as you didnt manage to finish serving your contract, you lose nothing since you already serve 23 months contract, you return the money for one month left telco subsidy **only if you plan to buy another new phone with another 24 months contract

many years i always terminate early for maxis contract, because for me one year maxis contract, one year i buy outright from Apple Online store...
for this year, due to iPhone 11 Pro launch early 27th Sep 2019, so my contract ends on 26 Sep 2021,
for iPhone 12 Pro i bought from Apple Online Store
for iPhone 13 Pro i wish to go with maxis contract, i no need pay any penalty since contract ends
for next year 2022 iPhone i will go back Apple Online Store
for year 2023 iPhone if come out early than 8 Oct in Malaysia, I will fork out a bit on penalty again

for me i die die say no to max even last year pro max have better camera system, unless only option left by Apple
to me size is the BIGGEST concern, i prefer phone i still can one hand use, there are some people prefer big screen as well

if you can accept max size and no problem with it, just few hundred extra why not go for max?

i believe no more 12AM since last year Apple Online Store Malaysia accept pre-order

last year is 9PM, telcos, reseller like switch machine senheng all follow 9PM last year on 6 Nov 2020 open for pre-order

this year first wave is 17 Sep 8PM Singapore time

i think for us will be 1 Oct 8PM for Apple Online Store Malaysia, telcos and reseller that allow pre-order
