Hi. I have a question about the time required for TM to bring on-line a new FDP installation. My Taman just got it's FDPs installed yesterday on 10 Jan. TM contractors started work on 23 Nov 2020 pulling fiber cable. I went to maxis and Digi stores to apply for fiber broadband today. They cannot find my Taman in the availablity port list. Anyone can share how long to wait for TM HSBB to release the new ports?
*
Wait for a couple of month or so if you want Maxis/Digi. For Unifi, you may get it a little bit earlier.

For other ISPs have to wait a few months because the FDP in your residential area will be given first to existing Streamyx users, because those ports are automatically reserved for Streamyx users (although the FDP is still not activated) because it is part of JENDELA . While for new users who want to subscribe need to wait a little longer (if the port is still there), because they are in the process of transferring streamyx users to fiber.

I was told it usually take TM 2-3 month to bring the FDP on-line. To share my own experience, TM install the FDP on mid-Sept 2020 (I took a picture of the FDP box and the number). The next day, I went to TM Point to reserve my port by showing them the picture and FDP number. drool.gif During this duration, you might or not(MIA) mad.gif see TM people going around the test the FDP even after the FDP have been set up to the top of the pole. After 2 month (mid-Nov 2020), I went again to TM Point to ask them to go on-line the system. bruce.gif The next day morning, I received a SMS on the installation details. biggrin.gif

And after 4-5 days later, a neighbour of mine when to the main Maxis Center (not those agent or top-up center) to apply for fiber service and able to get it install the next day. whistling.gif

won't be too long, best to go to TM Point first to register your interest. But I doubt you can opt for what telcos you want besides Unifi itself, the current priority is given to streamyx users and unifi new application, unless digi or maxis have some agreement with TM to reserve ports to them.

If the service is good in your area, just take it. I don't think other ISPs are cheaper than RM139 for 300Mbps. But check for better deals anyway.

1.Do ur homework, email or  chk with all other provider...celcom fiber, digi,  allo, maxis fiber etc.

2. From that feedback put official complain to mcmc

3. Follow up, might take time though

Btw where r u located?
*
1. Already check all, most base on TM port...... they say wont have port until TM provide. By the way i am current with streamyx account..... need remain TM possible to avoid terminate....

2. I am think it that way..... I will complaint 1 more time before complain to MCMC.

3. i dont mind follow up.... as long can get fiber

Penang, Georgetown.

I see your point about the Streamyx customers getting first opportunities to get the ports. My wife mentioned to me that TM sales representatives have been going door to door asking residents whether they are Streamyx customers since last week. Too bad I dumped Streamyx years ago in favour of Digi infinite 150 package. Just have to be patient then.

Take it. Don't think twice. It's a good deal at RM 139 for 300 mbps. You don't need HppyTV. There are much better options out there for digital streaming.

Either get the password from the browser's password manager (if saved), otherwise call TM again.

You need to go to TMPoint and apply for unifi.
Make sure you jot own the unifi installation address, order number and schedule installation date farther/later as possible.
Next day call 100/chat and cancel the installation, said change of mind.
Then give those unifi installation address to maxis or Digi if you wanna apply with them whistling.gif

Good idea. Now is cmco in my state. Can drag out the scheduled installation date and then cancel. My Taman is an old residential area over 40 years old and has less than 60 houses. Majority of the residents are retirees. So I am not worried about not enough ports to be allocated. I took a closer look at the new FDP in black enclosure, it's from fiberhome brand and has 16 ports output. I counted 5 FDP on the poles in my Taman. Anyone knows how much ports is available from one FDP for use?
