Want to ask, Unifi installation enquire...

1. Must have 1 fiber equipment with multiple fiber port device, then only can lay the fiber from there to own house?
That day they come over to my house and say my house too far to that equipment..... They need ask other team install that equipment in my house that road only can lay cable to my house......

2. How long they install that box/equipment ?
From my apply until now already more than 2 month... still pending..... haiz..... rclxub.gif

1. Already check all, most base on TM port...... they say wont have port until TM provide. By the way i am current with streamyx account..... need remain TM possible to avoid terminate....

2. I am think it that way..... I will complaint 1 more time before complain to MCMC.

3. i dont mind follow up.... as long can get fiber

Finally TM has come and install fiber (Unifi) at my house by today.... All the way they drag more than 2 month.

Some question to ask,
1. currently i am use the default router provide by TM, can i set dns ?
because i found that after set still got website canot go.

2. i can use unifi tv app to view free channel?

Yes, 5 or 6 years of complaining to MCMC and help@tm email. Almost every two months I wrote to them. At first, they said planning for Q3 2019 project, then Q1 2020 but due to Covid-19 pandemic the project was postponed again until 9th December last year where on that date, they finally start to lay the fibre cable to the phone pole at the back alley of my taman. But all of the port at my taman will be reserved only for existing Streamyx user. Those without Streamyx, unfortunately need to wait sometime before they 'release' the port to them. According to TM, My taman falls under 'special' project known as USP BBF (Broadband Fiberisation) - project under government funds which aims to convert copper customer to fibre. Mainly targeted to the rural and suburban areas nationwide.
Project timeline based on my observation:

9 December 2020 - Contractor start to lay the fibre cable to my taman.
Early January 2021 - They finally 'bury' all of the cable to the main manhole at the entrance of taman.
Mid January 2021 - Black box FDP was installed.
End of January 2021 - FDP and pole labelling. They tied up the fibre cable to the loop shape as well.

1 February 2021 - received the call from agent that said my taman has been in service for unifi and they will submit my application to TM.
2 February 2021 - received the SMS from TM that stated that my unifi will be installed on the next day, 3rd February on afternoon session.   shocking.gif   Thankfully, I was scheduled to WFH on 3rd february. If not need to ask for emergency leave.
3 February 2021 @ 5.00pm - The technician came to install my Unifi. The second installation on that day for my taman. Installation was FOC due to standard installation only.

Overall, it takes about 2 months for the project to be settled.

Your case similar to me. But cut my streamyx before and open new account again (around 2019). When they come to my neighbor, i only know that my area Fibre is ready. (Early Nov)
But they mentioned i am not old streamyx user, they need add port for my application.

Early Nov - Agent call
End of Nov - Complaint the the delay due to add port progress
Mid of Dec - Complaint again
End of Dec - Complain again
5 Jan - Go TM point check and understand the issue
6 Jan - Come to my house but no FDP box on my house road. Only have 200m far away.
19 Jan - I make a complaint again after 2 week no news.
20 Jan - Technician call up to update status.
26 Jan - Install FDP Box
27 Jan - Lay Fibre and installation my house
29 Jan - Change configuration system and FDP box
1 Feb - Phone migrated and Fibre stable to use.

Early stage similar as your.

Actually your situation abit same scenario like me.....
But i confirm will use fiber if available. You already in pre-registration mean they got planning to lay fiber.

My case is,
- Using VDSL 8mbps (Max), but always get 1-4mbps max. 8mbps only sometime. Disconnection issue every 2-3 week.
- Fiber lay Oct 2020. Receive call to register on mid of Nov.
- I confirm with that guy, confirm is fiber. Then i request 100mbps, my neighbor register 30mbps.
- Early Jan TM come over to confirm location Fiber box. There some ting tong between Nov-Jan.
- End of Jan come to install with fiber intro house. (Total complaint 6 times)
- 27 Jan successful install and can use.

Confirm thing
- Old VDSL cable no more use and connect.
- TM will lay new fiber to your house. If Fiber available.
- My neighbor using 30mbps also with Fiber, same as me. onsite see what they doing since that time i work from home.

I saw some one post before....
TM will reserve priority to Streamyx user > then Unifi user > only other telco.....
Aad now they priority to Streamyx user.....

If you register Unifi will faster, other telco maybe u need wait some period.....or TM open to them....
