I think u need to call 100 and ask them

Last time, my mothers house landline number under my late fathers name.. i request to change to my name and retain all the details and... it quite fussy steps (sop) from them.. they only can change the e-billing to my email since they implemented no fizikal bill last time..

Try ask first what document they want..
*
To share my experience, I went to TM Point to have it transfer (done it on Oct 2019). I just bring my dad's death certificate (not sure for other channel). On my 1st bill, TM charge me a RM10 (Caj Khas) and the remaining pro-rate. But the transfer I did was for the fixed phone line (didn't have Unifi that time).

Hi. I have a question about the time required for TM to bring on-line a new FDP installation. My Taman just got it's FDPs installed yesterday on 10 Jan. TM contractors started work on 23 Nov 2020 pulling fiber cable. I went to maxis and Digi stores to apply for fiber broadband today. They cannot find my Taman in the availablity port list. Anyone can share how long to wait for TM HSBB to release the new ports?
*
I was told it usually take TM 2-3 month to bring the FDP on-line. To share my own experience, TM install the FDP on mid-Sept 2020 (I took a picture of the FDP box and the number). The next day, I went to TM Point to reserve my port by showing them the picture and FDP number. drool.gif During this duration, you might or not(MIA) mad.gif see TM people going around the test the FDP even after the FDP have been set up to the top of the pole. After 2 month (mid-Nov 2020), I went again to TM Point to ask them to go on-line the system. bruce.gif The next day morning, I received a SMS on the installation details. biggrin.gif

And after 4-5 days later, a neighbour of mine when to the main Maxis Center (not those agent or top-up center) to apply for fiber service and able to get it install the next day. whistling.gif

Thanks for your input. I can't right now reach the nearest official TM point, which is in mainland Penang and under MCO currently. I am located in Kedah and the nearest official TM point in Kedah is more than 60 km away from my residence. However I am happy to just watched TM contractors doing test work on the FDP in front of my residence as I am typing this reply. They just propped a ladder and a contractor went up to the FDP and plugged in a patch cable into FDP. It took 10 minutes and they are done.
*
You should be getting Unifi service on-line soon if TM is testing ur FDP. It took TM 3 time checking and testing before going on-line at my area last year.

Hi all. Want to ask. What's the better router/modem for 30/100mbps if don't want to use TM one?

Better receiving cause two floors and also faster speed. Tq
*
From my experience, I am using Tp-link AX20 for my 20x75 double storey house (router location at GF middle of the house). Very good coverage, can be used at any corner of the house for both 30/100mbps (installation 21.11.2020 on 30mbps, upgrade 18.01.2021 to 100mbps).😁

Any Northern region Unifi users noticed any ping spikes recently with your own TM test server?

Like getting 2-3X the normal ping on a good day?

You can ping this over a random period of time say morning once, afternoon once, evening once and early morning once. Do you see any fluctuation in latency?

TM Speedtest server

Maybe my area still newly rollout, I didnt see any abnormal as of now except yesterday fiber cut period. (TM to TM Cyberjaya)

Erm why not u take ax50/ ax3000 at that point because ax20 is only ax1800 right? Ax50 should cover larger space?
*
Well AX20 is sufficient for me, plus I read that AX50 have heating problem so that's 1 of the reason why i choice AX20. You can refer to lowyat router forum for more info.

how much is the offer now for 100Mbps?

Apparently a new Feb marketing is going on as well 100 to 300Mbps, with free mesh
drop the unifi tv and get rm158
or selective unifitv package for rm168
or ultimate unifitv for 178
*
For mine, it was RM129 with free playtv channel (Ruby). Not sure on the Feb promo but i dont see free channel mention.

QUOTE(aniq8676 @ Feb 15 2021, 05:52 PM)
100mbps unifi users without UnifiTV will be given a free unifiplaytv ID with a pack (Aneka/Ruby/Varnam). Unifiplaytv ID can be used on the playtv@unifi app on Android & iOS platforms, and included on the Unifi TV app for Android TV OS users other than UPB
*
Yes, but some new cust who subscribed to 100Mbps didnt receive any email on regards to the free channel ID. I have a friends who register Unifi same time with me didnt receive any email until he ask via live chat.

QUOTE(nyunyu @ Feb 15 2021, 08:20 PM)
I think he meant the free actual TV promo if switching from other ISP.
*
No, i was referring the the free playtv channel apps and mine was Unifi 30 to Unifi 100, not from any other ISP.

So the new fiber port just installed right in front of my house is fully reserved apparently.
There’s only like 11 house in my area, i highly doubt all of them are subscribing to unifi

Agent mentioned only for streamyx users for now, which i cancelled 2 years ago because it was getting slower/no connection because cable stolen.
Just wanna ask how long do you usually have to wait until it’s your turn for installation.
*
You should go to TM point outlet bring together a picture of the FDP/port number. Thought a FDP/port have 8 port in it, TM can still split it with a 1X2 Splitter (tis wat happen to 1 of my neighbour hse).

I doubt the nonsense of port reserve for streamyx cust 1st. My house have cancel streamyx more than 5 year before unifi fibernation or bbf project but i still get to install it 1st before my neighbour who are still using streamyx. It based to your persistent to force/chase TM ppl.

for my case
I ask the technician why no people call me for installation,
he told me they will only give priority to streamyx user first. remaining port only they will offer to non streamyx use.

so for now i can only see my neighbors get unifi installation everyday

I cant do anything. technician also said he only received work order. cant help
*
The technician are lying. If you persist TM, eventually they will use 1X2 splitter. Dont believe, u can ask the technician.

I think you misunderstood. its a new pole. port is not full yet.
just even we all register at the same time but priority only given to  streamyx user.
I only can wait
maybe i shld do this. thank for the info
*
Yes i know it's new FDP/port. Usually if u persist to TM point, they have their way as like wat YoungMan said.

I see, so 8 ports doesn't really equal 8 users only
Haha, persistence is another factor it seems
*
Yes, TM technician told me it can done from 8>16 per FDP/port with the 1X2 splitter. Meaning u will be sharing ur port with ur neighbour. Tis is wat happening to my port.

For that to work, it has to be done by tm?
It’s not like other isp like maxis, celcom can just come to add additional ports like that
*
So far, i only saw TM/unifi technician are doing so. Not sure the other isp.

QUOTE(Candy12 @ Mar 10 2021, 06:40 PM)
It's illegal and non standardized approach to do that, eventually everyone on that FDP will suffer with very high disconnections and speed issues shortly. Attenuation loss margin will approach borderline limit and a slight drop will cause drop outs making them very sensitive.

Worst, your line won't qualify for gigabit plans in future if you over use the splitters >32 ports which is industry recommended standard.
*
Yes, i am aware of tis. Currently i am monitoring my internet speed. If not satify, i will make a complaint to mcmc.

Not slightly oh. You can forget about offering gigabit plans in future if you cheat like that.

GPON Class B+ (ITU-T G.984) max allowed attenuation is 28dB(reading must be 26dB with 2dB allowance).

A 1:4 splitter installed in the FDC cabinet already takes up ~7.5dB. The 2nd 1:8 splitter inside the FDP will take up another ~11dB. You add another 1:2 splitter that'll add another ~3.5-4dB.

Easily you add up all 3 already close to ~23dB. That means you've just another 3dB allowance.
Cable length between OLT? Degradation over time?  Quick Connectors/ Couplers and resplices?

All will add further attenuation to the line.

Once you hit 25/26dB level, your customers will start crying everyday and shouting.

That is why TM HSBB network is NOT ready to offer gigabit speeds and symmetrical plans. It's in a HUGE mess due to bad planning design and cost cutting.
*
So far my house reading is at 17dB (last checking on 04.03.2021)

Hello guy tm technician just installed unifi fibre today but he told me that need to pay deposit RM100 to tm point within 1 week, is that true about it?
*
Usually for those who register thru agent/reseller will need to pay RM100 as a deposit but it will be deduct on your first bill. While those who register personally at TM point, no need.

*
Is your installation standard or special? Cos from my experience and understanding, TM didnt charge any deposit if register thru TM point and std installation.
