YouTube 4K can play no problem.

Anybody else noticing this ?

No problem here with IPv6 enabled or disabled.

Probably IPv4 congestion issue?

Try enable IPv6 and see how its going.

Over here in East Malaysia using Cloudflare DNS (connected to JHB PoP) on Unifi Home, legal streaming sites using Akamai CDN is totally unusable at night. Infinite buffering/loading until it errors out. Pinging the domains serving the videos results in packet loss. IPv6 is enabled but Akamai CDN for the videos seem to only use IPv4.

CODE
Pinging a1416.w39.akamai.net [184.28.229.8] with 32 bytes of data:

Addon: Looking up the IPs involved points to Singapore. So even connection to Singapore is 300ms+ with packet loss!
*
Akamai mainly relies on EDNS client subnet for optimized node.
Cloudflare DNS didn't support this feature thus Akamai IP may resolved to Singapore instead of local Akamai node.

for Amazon East issue i just tried one of the SG provider to see the result who have similarity to TM routing via equinix01-iad2.amazon.com

equinix01-iad2.amazon.com << this ip belong to 200Gbps pipeline (I suspect this pipeline also abit overload from the ping result)

at 9pm
the ping range i get from SG provider around 245ms to 255ms, sometime will go up 300ms for a few secs but no loss packet.
for TM if they really relay the routing towards Amazon East by using their TM itself Equinix Ashburn IX 10Gbps pipeline should be overload itself.
the best for those who using amazon service please open ticket and post your mtr or traceroute result to them for them to check out.
*
I did a traceroute from AWS East and this is the results.
It seems that AWS East return path to TM is going through EU route (AWS East - CW New York - CW Paris - CW Marseille - TM)

All of you are saying using Google DNS or Cloudflare DNS works, but how come doesn't work for me?

I suspect because I only use IPV4?

I wish someone can guide how to make the Google/Cloudflare DNS work?

I doubt can ask TM people to help since TM is the one blocking....

And blocking also in half past six manner (typical of Malaysian way)!
*
How did you set your Google DNS?
If you set it correctly you should able to access those sites

Hey guys! My Speedtest results are great, but I’ve been experiencing horrible buffering on Facebook videos today. Every video takes a few seconds to load and then it buffers constantly

Can play YouTube 4K no problem

Is anyone else facing this issue too?
*
Please enable IPv6 for your connections.
Sites such as Facebook and YouTube work better with IPv6 enabled.

Why don't you report to TM for this issue?

Normal users are not able to login to the modem

You may try enable IPv6.
There is possible that IPv4 is congested and enabling IPv6 may solve your problems.

No problem here, did you try enable IPv6?

Sometime will have some congestion on IPv4 which may cause lagging on facebook.
Enabling IPv6 should solve your issue.

Hello! Is anyone experiencing a major lag in tiktok thumbnail loadings? Videos load fine but I don’t know what I’m clicking on because it’s just a blank white page lol

Ipv6 didn’t fix it

I’m using cloud flare dns

Is there anything I can try ?
*
Try changing to Google DNS,
Tik Tok is using akamai to serve its contents,

Akamai mainly relies on EDNS client subnet for optimized node.
Cloudflare DNS didn't support this feature thus Akamai IP may resolved to Singapore or oversea IP instead of local Akamai node.

Thank you very much! I also wanted to ask, for a few months already I’m noticing that periodically profile pictures on YouTube and YouTube comments take forever to load for some people

This happens no matter the dns or ipv6 enabled in my place. Even worse at night when some don’t ever load.

I saw your pings to a YouTube profile picture server seem very low with no spikes, so what could be the possible reason for this issue I am facing ?

Speedtests and everything seem fine, YouTube 4K can play also, but it’s weird to see the video play and the profile pictures surrounding the video fail to load properly

Anybody else experiencing this issue too? Sometimes need to scroll down the comments a bit fast to find ones that won’t load 😂😂
*
Did you changed to Google DNS yet?
Equinix SG issue should not affect Youtube as Youtube/Google has server in Malaysia.

Also did you enabled your IPv6?
Sites such as Youtube, Facebook work better over IPv6 connections.

Actually nope for me.
IPv6 for unifi user only benefit for accessing popular site only.Otherwise most unpopular website might be slower loading time.
*
IPv6 will not cause slower loading time for unpopular website.
Our browser will automatically use IPv4 (happy eyeballs fallback) if the destination website didn't support IPv6.

For those with public IPs, can you guys help me check if the assigned ipv4 address is the same as external ip it detected on website i.e seemyip.com ?

My router giving me this (which is the actual one)
Protocol: PPPoE
Address: 100.104.141.x/32
Gateway: 100.105.255.254
DNS 1: 8.8.8.8
DNS 2: 8.8.4.4
Connected: 1d 7h 29m 27s

vs

any website that detect ip giving me 118.x.x.x ip which is invalid if i try to ping it / localhost.

And no, I'm not connected to VPN or any sort of thing. So either my openWRT doing funny thing, or TM masking the actual public ip address on internet.

I'm on screamyx / unifi screamyx . not fiber ya.
*
We call these as CGNAT ip or private ip.
Its been a long time that streamyx get assigned with private ip.

Public ip still available to streamyx users upon request.

If there's no auto option, you may choose slaac option.
TM assigns IPv6 by slaac to its users
