Seems they just started opening Pre-Order for this plan today.

I just canceled my fiber+phone line because the unlimited is a big joke.

There is a 300gb cap after that they will heavily throttle everything, not just video streaming as stated in the T&C.

This plan seems interesting though as there is no stated data cap. Anyone knows if it's just hidden and the T&C is not clear because it's a new launch?


If it's truly unlimited it can take market share from Digi Infinite 150 as this plan is only RM108. I just got my digi simcard today only to discover their coverage map is a lie. It showed LTE coverage in my area but in practice I can only get 3G.

I would like to know more info on Maxis One Go Wifi ... promo look good for unlimited data for hotspot purpose.

I think this will be great for those still under Streamyx.

TM Unlimited 4G is also coming but knowing Maxis, the network will definitely be much faster.

Unifi Air is the main competitor here. Unifi Air is RM79 per month, but I guess Maxis’s coverage is better.

Digi Infinite targets a slightly different market.

I used their RM138 package before that comes with 65 GB 2 years back.

Even own 2 of their Huawei modem. The speed stated is 30Mbps but it's blazingly fast.

I currently use Yoodo (using Celcom network) but noticeably laggy even though stated speed is 30Mbps also

Will move back to Maxis, taking the SIM only package that doesn't comes with 24 months contract

If it can have a stable speed at 30mbps and low latency, that's highly accepted. Now, the issue is if it's truly unlimited data? If it's just like the fibre + postpaid one which limited to only 300GB and then get heavily throttled, it would be not worthy.

I sure hope there isn't that 300gb cap like their fiber+mobile 'unlimited' plan.

They also have not stated if there will be any speed caps. I've registered my interest for now and will ask them when they call me. Will keep you guys updated too.

Well, comparing Maxis to Digi i150, Maxis is still cheaper. Furthermore, you can get a modem for RM1 with 12 months contract. Digi doesn't provide any contract plan with modem since it's not a broadband plan.
You can't compare this to fibre cause it has stated that "even if you're not in fibre coverage", meaning this plan suits those have only a little choice like me.

According to MilesAndMore, the 300GB only affect video streaming quality. I hope he would clarify more on it here.

Yes because that’s according to the published T&C on Maxis website, and our actual experience as Maxis Unlimited Postpaid and Fibre subscribers is in line with the black and white T&C, except that until now they never managed our video streaming speed either. Then again my parents only started hitting over 300GB of mobile data usage since the start of MCO.

Early on I’ve read that there were already users reported extremely slow browsing experience once they hit over 200GB of mobile data usage. Suggest you to complain to 123 because that shouldn’t happen.

I hit 300gb during MCO intentionally and they throttled all traffic for me.

all traffic is throttled once 300gb is reach. (maxis one prime plan)

You need to call 123 and ask them to forward the T&C to you because that is not in line with their published T&C on their website. My parents only have two Maxis postpaid lines, by the way with dad on RM128 plan due to iPhone contract sign-up back in 2018. And neither of them experienced what you two experienced in April this year.

I did highlight the T&C to their cs through whatsapp. They acted like they couldn't do anything about it. I straight away cancelled my fiber installation appointment. I refuse to be treated like a beggar lol.

So, my main number (call + sms), i switch to YoDoo; take the most basic plan call only RM12 for 2000 minutes.

I took the data sim only from Maxis.

Since my phone can do dual sim; no problem.

Have been using this for a few days now and I can tell yall, EVERYTHING IS A FKING LIE

1) Speed is heavily controlled and/or fluctuated
I can get 2Mbps from 8am-10pm, 20Mbps from 11pm-7am

2) Dont bother for torrenting, torrent not working at all it just wont connect

3) Speed is super inconsistent, unlimited data or speed seems a joke since I dont even get consistent speed.

Side notes:
-My modem get constant 4G signal
-My phone maxis 128 plan speed no issue
-Called CS they claim no "limit" or any "speed blocks"
-My streamyx actually gets better and consistent speed.. which defeats my point of getting another line (streamyx for parents to watch youtube so i need another dedicated line for gaming/downloads but my area no UNIFI AIR coverage yet)

Disapointed with this.. unlimited speed and quota? Sure!

but what they dint point out is
-FLUCTUATING SPEED NOT DEPENDING ON SIGNAL
-NO TORRENT OR HEAVY DOWNLOADS

Somehow I'm not surprised haha...but I think you're doing it backwards bro..I'm maintaining my Streamyx for gaming while getting 4g for my kids and wife to stream.
Gaming is latency sensitive and a fixed line is better at that. Streaming/downloading needs more bandwidth and ideally a 4g connection will be better at this. I don't even consider torrenting with malaysian isp, I use a seedbox for it much less hassle.

As for speed, in the day I could get till 80Mbps and at night I could get 70Mbps.
Eerie yearly morning like 2 A.M, i can get 100 Mbps.

As for torrent; it's like DiGi i150. You need to use VPN.
I use the jerung one.
Bought in Shopee for RM2.50 only.

Ok guys I might have been over-reacting abit ytd because I was fking pissed.. so after some deep meditation and getting a call from the Maxis tech guy today...

-Speed inconsistency is due to tower servers or smth reaching a max capacity especially during MCO, so they need to limit bandwidth for everyone to use or others wont able to even connect (TBH sounds like a YP not MP, but I live in high density low-mid class apartment which means most people are using phone line for internet connection so yeah)
-Regarding torrents or "downloads", after some "off the record discussion" with the tech guy, although they dint limit speed or block anything, something about MCMC being in the bigger picture so yeah go figure

Guess Ill just have to live with that or work harder and move to a place with Unifi. (PS: Yeah in case ur wondering, basically TM gave us the middle finger by installing Unifi around, yes... literally around my apartment, which means the whole district has Unifi except my apartment lol)

Btw, yes yes... I could have gotten a VPN or seedbox or similar ways for torrenting... but me coming from a poor background "insert sob tv3 kasih sayang story", growing up we learned to "explore" ways getting stuff done for free or to wait until something can be done for free. Today, I received a call from Maxis regarding this MaxisOne Go Wifi. I was told once again that it's truly unlimited with speed up to 20mbps only.

Tried with the APN Maxis gave me and my default APN.. i think it was wapnet and maxis smth smth... not sure how that helps but same result...
Meh, its a 15 minute drive to my nearest Maxis center if i need to change... but u know... im just lazy AF to go out unless I really need to

I believe their customer service team is also not up to speed (heh. Speed. Get it?) on this plan as they are just rolling this out.

Their official whatsapp told me No speed cap, No data cap.

My speed can go up to 100Mb ansd stable around 80-90.

Im using B818 modem and got great signal at my area.

Torrent being blocked is no issue for me as I managed to get a really good annual plan for a seed box. Around RM45 per month for a 4TB 1gbps up/down box.

If you wanna finish the 300gb fast download a TV show season. Don't forget the 300gb is both up/down so shouldn't be hard to use up

Some update guys:

-Certain so-called "popular" sites such as but not limited to FB, Insta, YT are heavily throttled (1.5 Mbps max) during peak hours, DEPENDING on your area cell tower limit. Meaning if your area alot of ppl using phone line for internet like me, GGWP. (PS: My peak time is around 12pm-11.59pm) *Edit: throttling confirmed by silentser, using VPN helps*

-Speed fluctuation still happen alot, getting around 7-28 Mbps from time to time (This speed only apply for normal usage meaning the speed does not apply to popular website mentioned above during peak hour)

-4G on my phone for maxis 128 plan getting constant 28 Mbps, for celcom 128 plan is getting arnd 70 Mbps. So far the phone maxis also experiencing throttling issue during peak hours, not experiencing any throttle on celcom line.

-Torrent definitely blocked as confirmed by me and silentser, this 1 no choice la k. I googled everywhere and LYN being my last stop, conclusion: pay for VPN or seedbox or whatever, no free choice here.


Lucky u, they gave me the B315, seem so outdated but its either that or the usb dongle.

Lastly, Im seeing alot of ppl fill up info or call maxis to get this plan: If ur existing maxis postpaid user, dont waste ur time just WALK IN to ur maxis sc get the deal immediately if u want. The pre-order/register is BS, they basically convert the 65GB BB plan to this and gave rm30 monthly rebate to existing maxis customers. For non-maxis/ maxis prepaid users YMMW since I wasnt in that bracket when i signed up for this. Although I urge u to consider twice before signing up, my damage was minimal since I only had 1 year contract.

Thinking of investing in proper modem? Maybe like B525 since you already tied to a contract and cant terminate it.

Nope. Still under than 300GB.

Seems like the speed is back for YouTube. Trying 2160p quality, getting speed 2-5Mb. No buffering at all.

Maybe got network hiccups for a moment just now. Will test again tomorrow

I'm now aboard on this MaxisOne Go Wifi, however I'm worried there's the 300GB hidden quotas. Therefore, I just got the SIM only without contract. Now, everything seems quite good. Although not as fast as some people, it's highly confirmed better than Unifi Lite.

According to official T&C, by surpassing 300 GB quota they only can limit "video streming" and DURING "peak hours". Now, given my YT was already throttled 2 days going in this plan, I wont trust any of that BS.




Mate I was as optimistic as you before, but I recommend monitoring your download speed throughout the day. Im still monitoring mine.. fluctuations are still happening ranging 7Mbps-28Mbps from today 8am till now. Also. dont forget to test YT during "peak hours", should be 6-11pm.

For anyone interested I will update my average speed results tonight once I get a full view of the fluctuations.

I went to a maxis store today. I wanted to sign up for the plan but the lady told me I need to wait until 4 June and advised me to come back on 4th June.... NANI??!?! I'm confused. Has anyone here managed to sign up for the plan and get the sim from the store?

I just signed up today for SIM only without contract. The modem is out of stock atm. The guy said need to leave my contact details and return to pick the modem when arrived if I need one, plus 12 months contract too.
Unless the Maxis center you go has no more SIM card in stock, I don't know why you need to wait till 4 June.

like your case, I don't need the modem. but only needed the sim. I told them I'm ok to have 65G data quota while waiting till 4th June, I told them i don't need the modem. She just straight up told me to come back on 4th June. She didnt mention anything about the sim stock. But, she keeps mentioning that the unlimited quota policy will be effectively enforced on 4th June.

The worst thing is the closest store to my place is closed and I have to drive a long way to this maxis store and got turned away.

Btw, I'm staying at Johor, Skudai area, maxis 4G signal is good here. Looks like I have to wait.

Fluctuations? Are you expecting this wireless broadband to stable at like 25mbps all the time? Do you know every telco has a term with speed up to XXmbps for 80% of the time?

You have nothing to lose for signing up later. For many people have signed up this plan, they may share what's good or bad. You could get HOTLINK for the time being since it offers extra 20gb for every Hotlink MU purchases until CMCO ended. It costs RM3.50 for 20gb+/day.

Mate, not 25Mbps all the time, but at least 10Mbps? I dont even get 10 sometimes, I dont understand. My laptop is not moving arnd, the router is not moving around. The cell tower certainly damn sure not moving around. If its phone I understand, but the cell tower-modem-laptop is stationary mate. I know its UP TO 20Mbps, but come on... my phone has stabler connection and is moving arnd wei.

Btw seriously go check ur YT speed. I kena throttle again start 8pm. Max 1.5Mbps, after vpn 5-7Mbps.

I don't watch YT that much. And, (1) how do I check YT speed?
2) What devices do you use with this Go Wifi?
3) Do you know Digi also have unlimited data for RM150 monthly?
4) Why do you not try Digi infinite 150 if Maxis is not so good?

PS: I turned on the "show network speed" on my phone, and tried to run a YT on auto. It ran on 480p with speed at around 50-170KB/s. So, I think it's as you said, the speed is throttled.

2nd day testing result incoming...

OMG HOW CAN I FORGOT ABOUT DIGI... speechless... FML I seriously never thought about that. Should have gone with DIGI in the first place.

Its a funny story u know... I actually went to maxis to claim my zerolution360 warranty... ended up checking out the brochure during queue and walked out with this BS...

2nd day testing.

I am currently still below 300GB usage.

Disclamer: Take these test as a grain of salt, your experience may differ, I just informing my own experience for you all to know the good and the bad that i am facing using this plan.

TLDR: facebook/instagram/YouTube is throttle during peak hours. Netflix not, downloading not.

Personal opinion: heavy on social media? try another telco, this is not for you. Heavy on downloading/ Netflix most of the time? Maybe yes. Whatever it is don't tie yourself with a contract.

So I did a few test during the day until around 3PM all still good, Youtube full speed. Then i went out so unable to do more testing.

I start the testing on 9PM cause i feel this is the time where all telco will consider as "Peak Hours"

My result as below:

Will try my best, my desktop wifi coild only connect to 2.4Ghz wifi due to old internet adapter. Not sure if it will affect the ping.

I just try playing marvel super war, ping is at 29 - 30 ms, no lag at all. On Asia/Singapore servee.

Yes this is VERY right. Remember that im using a high end modem B818 and fortunate enough to have a very good signal connection at my house area.

You will not get the same result using a low end modem i think. BUT.... i do have a mid? low? -end modem Huawei B310, will put my sim card there and will try these games out for you guys when i have the time.

Technically many telco provider doesn’t allow torrents download. For example, Digi i150 doesn’t allow torrent but maybe very low Kb like less than 10kb/sec. while Digi PostPaid which have limited data quota package allows you to download full speed for torrents.

Disclamer: Taiwan telco set. Might get sim-lock if in the future if the Telco decide to force update the modem. If it get sim lock, will become a very expensive door stopper.

Tried a few games

Apex Legend and CS:GO able to play without lag, but since it is midnight now cant give opinion yet. CS:GO ping is around 45-60ms, averaging at 45-46 ms most of the time.

Anyone know if can make Apex Legend showing ping? I might do a video showing the experience.

Funny thing that HUAWEI looks like not telco type. I have a Huawei B525-23a which is not telco lock. Is the B818 admin menu shows HUAWEI or something different?

If the CS:GO average 40-45ms ping I assume that’s the lowest possible on 4G Maxis connection as I’m having that ping time too.

There is no branding of other telco at all even in menus, but got people in the B818 community that directly ask the seller and the seller inform unlock taiwan telco set.

Even got another person directly contact huawei customer service, and the staff informed the same thing.

There is one seller in shopee that advertise he is selling International set, instead of Telco, but the price is around RM 700.
