Yes, I really don’t like that Maxis stated “unlimited even if you’re not in fibre coverage area” on its webpage.
BTW, have you tried DiGi infinite 150 which gives 1000GB quota?
*
That one is postpaid brah and 150 is big sum for just 4G data. I only want internet with router/modem. The only 2 companies that give unlimited is Maxis and Unifi.

Usually >300gb. Household of 4. As of today is 311.44GB have not reach billing date yet. This is our main house internet. Maxis has a stupid FUP rules which states even its "unlimited" behind theres a catch. Unfortunately unifi air coverage is the worst in Malaysia cant turn to choose them.
I wish can terminate that easily. If my place unifi air has better coverage would have already gone for them. Not to mention cheaper lagi.

i am using digi infinite rm150, more expensive but faster than maxis

Only 2 doh.gif, Please update yourself, this DiGi i150 unlimited data plan came up for quite some time before Maxis and Unifi.
Yes, that’s a postpaid plan with unlimited data + unlimited tethering, which means you can use on a 4G router as a home broadband provided that your location has a good connection. It’s an alternative for Unifi Air unlimited data, plus you get unlimited calls if the 4G router can connect a phone using RJ-11 cable.

Need to test unifi's variant before can consider Digi. Unlike these two, TM will give you option to trial their unifi air before making up your mind depending on your luck.

My family has terminated our Unifi Lite/Streamyx connection and will continue with Maxis One despite having questionable stability problems caused by our router. Randomly, we will no longer have internet access and the resolution is too reboot the router. The router my family is using is the MR6400 from TP-Link.

Interesting wonder if they removed the throttling after 31st Dec 2020?

Anyone else noticed the change in the throttle?

So far, I can stream youtube and other video on 1440p during 8pm~12pm this month, no throttling observed on other site too but network would suddenly halt (around 12.30am~3am) and needed to reset router when it happened.

I am currently trying to download drivers for HP laptops from HP's website and I am getting only 50 kilobytes per second regardless of browser (edge or chrome) and regardless of operating system (ubuntu or windows).

When downloading through my phone which uses Umobile, not so slow.

The domain for HP's drivers includes the word "ftp".

example: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp95501-96000/sp95889.exe

Only this morning at 4am was I able to download drivers at normal speed.

EDIT: I am aware of online complains that HP's website being slow

EDIT 2: I downloaded Touch VPN Chrome extension. Now getting 500 to 1000 kilobytes per second. Not great but better.

I started my MaxisOne Go WiFi subscription this month and can confirm that the internet speed is being heavily throttled from 8PM to 12AM even though I’m nowhere near the 300GB unlimited quota limit. It’s 9PM+ right now and I can’t even maintain a voice call without latency issues (500ms-5s delay no joke). Websites (even Google!) also take forever (wait tens of seconds or go make a cup of coffee) to load even with AdBlock on. Outside of that time frame, I’m getting up to 2MB/s download which I personally wouldn’t call 5G-ready sweat.gif but at least it’s not unbearably slow.

I’ve been a long-time Maxis customer but my perception of it has changed drastically since last year. Their service has been piss poor recently and they’ve been constantly nickel-and-diming their customers every chance they get. A couple of instances that I encountered:

1. The use of dark patterns in their mobile app by rearranging the order of purchasable internet passes every once in a while. After having developed the muscle memory for claiming the 1GB free daily internet pass (yes, unlike other telcos e.g. U-Mobile which just gives you the free 1GB automatically, Maxis users have to manually claim it), you will inevitably click on the incorrect button which leads you to purchase a non-refundable RM10 internet pass even if you try calling customer service to cancel it. I found out that it is possible despite the staff on the phone telling you otherwise. You just have to email customer care and jump through some extra hoops. Maxis actively makes it a painful experience for you to get your money back. Celcom is a delight when it comes to dealing with the same issue.

2. When I signed up for MaxisOne Go WiFi as an additional plan to my principal line, I was charged RM10 for itemised bill. I discovered this when looking through my credit card bill. I have explicitly opted out of this before, instead choosing to get all my receipts via email. When I confronted them on phone, they told me it was a mistake and they would undo the charge. I consider myself a tech-savvy and meticulous person but imagine the percentage of their customer base who fell for this and just never found out.

This turned into sort of a rant but my takeaway is if you need a reliable internet service between 8PM to 12AM, look elsewhere!

I wanted to attach speedtest.net result but it won’t get past this state and I gave up waiting for it to begin:

Oh no.. been eyeing to subscribe to this plan (while waiting for my unifi port availability). Too bad, currently surviving on hotlink data plan and it's kinda good. I wonder why they do this to maxis one subscribers.

i've been on unifi air for the past 2 yrs (Feb 2019) from initial 60GB quota to unlimited quota (March 2020) and now planning to add maxisone go wifi. my place only has symponet as service provider, no landline unifi. very limited choice.
looking at the thread, need to cancel my intention to get maxisone go wifi bcoz plan to use it to connect to my android tv box at 8pm-12am to watch tv.
so stick to unifi air then for this MCO.
