I'm using digi broadband rm58/mth package.

Recently i just change my dumb phone to smartphone, HTC Wildfire.

I was thinking to sign a data plan for my phone, then for a 2nd thought:
Can i use my digi broadband simcard insert in my phone and surf net with it?

I know by doing that, my phone:
NO CALL
NO SMS
NO BONUS/EXTRA SERVICES
NO MMS

ONLY DATA ACCESS!

But, really, a smartphone without WiFi or internet connection still a DUMBPHONE!

Despite the no call, no sms....bla bla bla...lots of 'CANT DO', I wanna know what i 'CAN DO'

Please teach this dumb fella to be a smart user of technology thingies~~

For call and sms.

If you are smartphone.
Install Skype, Fring, GoogleTalk.

Just buy some small amount of call time. aka USD5 etc.

Or
For the other option, convert your existing phone line in to Digi Prepaid or Digi Easy Prepaid.
This will let you make call/sms and and get the RM15/week unlimited internet access.

lol, u kidding me? nokia e72 can not support digi broadband sim card? come on man, you just need to do the setting.
go to setting, find the access point, create a new apn which is "3gdgnet".
when you want to online, use 3gdgnet to connect.

Added on May 11, 2011, 12:18 pmsettings for nokia e72

Tools > Settings > Connection > Access points

Options > New access point

Connection name: DiGi BB
Data bearer: Packet data
Access point name: 3gdgnet
User name: None
Prompt password: No

sorry man, i never touched galaxy w before. but it is using android right?

may be i just write down the step, u try to follow up, ok?

Settings > Wireless & networks
Mobile networks > Access Point Names
"touch" menu to open the menu, the "touch" New APN
inside the new apn, key in:
Name: DiGi BB
APN: 3gdgnet
"touch" menu again, "touch" Save
After you saved it, tick the APN u just created.
then back to the mobile network setting, the "touch" to ON the "data enabled".
that should be work.

I think it's mentioned somewhere in maxis tnc that the 4g standard sim is supposed to remain inside their stock router. In the event their fibre line is down, the 4g sim card will kick in to provide backup Internet.

I don't think maxis will want you to utilise the 4g sim card inside a phone. Although i did tried inserting the sim card into a usb modem and it can still function.
