Just sharing. Subscribed to unifi air last week. plugged into B310 and getting 50Mbps download. Since its new user, guess they haven't set throttling or sort (hopefully not). Is 50 Mbps the highest it can go? Tot of adding an external LTE antenna.

how u guys manage to get 50Mbps else the limit is 20Mbps?

TM clearly state Average[U] speed of 20Mbps
No sped capped. You may get below or over 20Mbps

Limit? Where did this come from? If 20Mbps, the wording seen is 'average speed'.

DL and UL stated average 20mbps. However, UL speed is suck. now matter how good my signal is, with DL speed I can get up to 60mbps, but only manage to get 2mbps UL.

Tried with nvidia shield tv pro, smooth in every aspect for every legal streaming platform with speed up to 40mbps in my area. Only recently illegal streaming services seems lag after 7pm onwards.

I've check it myself, it is unifi/tm problem bangwall.gif
it was lag, but when I shift to my hotspot from phone (maxis and even Umobile GX38 6mbps), everything was running smooth, not even a single lag.

does the unifi air and unifi mobile share the same network? im currently on unifi mobile unlimited with my p30 pro and my area get average of 10mbps speed only even though signal is 5 bars, will the speed be better if i go for unifi air? or do i need to get the HUAWEI b618 to unlock better speed?

This really depends on location.
Fact: closer the (band supported)tower faster lor

I got 8-9mbps UL but yeah I agree UL is bad and it throttles my DL when using max I upload a 2GB need 1-2hours and I can't browse anything even i have 60mbps DL

Yes same tower, unifi not going to build separate tower for 2 different plan that would be costly and not effective coz need but 2 land and 2 towers and 2 maintenance sweat.gif yes b618 does have better speed, but not necessary, too overpriced. just get a modem that support B38/B40 support 2CA 4G+ will be the kinda same speed as b618 +-5mbps

Yesterday go and purchased unifi air without contract, sim only.. i subscribed sim only before, but unfortunately tested it on wrong type of modem.. before this i use Huawei B715, which does not have band 40 for unifi air.. after testing it for a while and only connected at band 5, i terminate the package as it is very damn slow.. not even 8mbps.. yesterday, i called 3rd party person who is doing service to check unifi air coverage in penang.. he brought his tm b618-65d, and we tested with LPDA (Log Periodic Antenna) and the result was excellent.. i got around 70-80mbps via fast.com

before I purchased another huawei router b525s-65a to use with yes ku99.. yes ku99 in my area average around 20-30mbps during day, but at night starting from 7pm-12am the speed dropped tremendously.. i only get around 3-6mbps at night with yes.. so then i insert the unifi air sim to b525, connect the lpda.. the lpda is face towards the tm tower nearby and voila.. i managed to get speed around 50-70mbps during day, and around 30-40mbps at night.. definitely 100 time better than my unifi lite 8mbps.. time to say goodbye to yes

To those planning to subscribe to unifi air, make sure ur modem supported BAND 40 TDD 2300 MHz. I got 4G+ with this band. If people say just go and buy unifi mobile prepaid to test coverage in ur area, please take note that unifi mobile is running on different band altogether with unifi air. Unifi mobile is on band 5, 10Mhz, while band 40 is 20 Mhz. yes you can run unifi air on band 5, but the speed is damn slow. My house is not within the blue coverage area. But if you know the location of the transmitting tower, and u purchased LPDA with your modem, you can definitely improve your wireless broadband signal. Strong signal equals to consistent speed.

Thanks for sharing thumbup.gif
Could you share the total cost for the LPDA cost? Equipment cost, installation cost and service cost?

LPDA 1 unit is rm75.. need 2 so 75x2 = rm150

the bracket is the same for tv antenna.. around 8-10 ringgit.. the metal pole is around 10-15 ringgit.. all i bought from hardware shop..

no cost of installation as i did all by myself since I have all the tools (power drill etc).. just need chair/staircase to install

if you are not confident to install urself, maybe mytv@freeview installer can setup the pole everything for you..

i am wondering, the B618 free modem, will it be returned after 24 months contract end?
I read through the tnC and FAQ from tm website, did not mentioned it.
i do remember last time when my streamyx contract ended, i went to tmpoint to terminate, i asked whether need to return the modem, she answered is no and said, no need, since i already complete the contract. hmm.gif hmm.gif
