haha..i see a lot of ranting from user hogging the tm network.
normal user does not have any issue.
tm told unifi air is interim solution also they scared all unifi fiber customer migrate to this unifi air.
so its normal they open for existing streamyx users only
having 2 mil customer does not mean all the 2 mil is good paymaster
remember the turbo tm stated users need to pay their outstanding bill or not eligible to get the turbo
it was good speed 20m vs previous lite 10m vs 8m streamyx
as for me using 4m streamyx right now, i will be taking the offer without hesitations.
now waiting tm to call rclxms.gif

I take it to different housing area which using different telco tower , having same problem too .Duno what happen so weird lol , all pc / laptop low speed but hp veli fast .

Have you tried using different laptop?
If different laptop still the same problem, then it is TM network problem.
If different laptop is okay, then it is your laptop that cause the problem.

heard subscribe to unifi air will need to pay rm26 for the telephone line? if streamyx, the rm26 is waived.

unifi air is broadband only without telephone. For new subscriber, i dont think telephone line will be provided.
Only those Streamyx customer that has been offered unifi air can maintain their existing telephone line, but will need to pay rm25 for the telephone line

Their coverage map cacat mia.
They offer me unifi air for my old house, map show blue color, huawei show 4G.
I take the device to another 2 location without coverage, map no color but huawei show get 4G+ and the speed was faster

Based on their coverage map, my condo site is half covered, half not. And my block is on the not-covered side. Lol. Registration can only be done at TMPoint right? Quite troublesome as they are only open during office hour.

As usual, forever no coverage.

But since the officer in charge of my "complaint" ever since has told met to register at the nearest TMPoint, I went specifically to their branch and tried to register for one.

Alas, not surprised with their response and badly trained staff members asking what is unifi Air  doh.gif, I brought up the name of the officer in charge and they immediately treated me with a different approach and redirected me to a senior officer.

As usual they just said the product is just released and they don't have either the modem or the SIM card. Like WTF is TM doing? They have neither items and they actually dare to publicly offer it? Another complaint coming up.

Just ended with taking my details and will update me instantly when they "re-confirm" the coverage and the availability of the product.  bangwall.gif

So some points to note:
1. Forever no coverage
2. Staffs are still badly trained and under-equipped
3. TM has the worst rollout of plans and packages
4. Misinformation is key to "cheat" customers of their money
*
Here are some tips to bypass the coverage checking
1) Take #bebas and run some testing on your hp/device that supported LTE Band 5/38/40
2) If it frequently drop to 3g forget about unifi air
3) If it stable at 4G and speed was your liking proceed to next step
4) Check the unifi air coverage at https://unifi.com.my/personal/home/wireless-broadband, search for area near to your house that has the coverage, remember it
5) walkin to tmpoint and when the staff ask your address, just answer your address as per step (4)
6) enjoy your package whistling.gif

unifi air only get TM 4G
unifi mobile get TM 4G, CELCOM 3G and CELCOM 4G.
So, that are among the differences

Yesterday go and purchased unifi air without contract, sim only.. i subscribed sim only before, but unfortunately tested it on wrong type of modem.. before this i use Huawei B715, which does not have band 40 for unifi air.. after testing it for a while and only connected at band 5, i terminate the package as it is very damn slow.. not even 8mbps.. yesterday, i called 3rd party person who is doing service to check unifi air coverage in penang.. he brought his tm b618-65d, and we tested with LPDA (Log Periodic Antenna) and the result was excellent.. i got around 70-80mbps via fast.com

before I purchased another huawei router b525s-65a to use with yes ku99.. yes ku99 in my area average around 20-30mbps during day, but at night starting from 7pm-12am the speed dropped tremendously.. i only get around 3-6mbps at night with yes.. so then i insert the unifi air sim to b525, connect the lpda.. the lpda is face towards the tm tower nearby and voila.. i managed to get speed around 50-70mbps during day, and around 30-40mbps at night.. definitely 100 time better than my unifi lite 8mbps.. time to say goodbye to yes

To those planning to subscribe to unifi air, make sure ur modem supported BAND 40 TDD 2300 MHz. I got 4G+ with this band. If people say just go and buy unifi mobile prepaid to test coverage in ur area, please take note that unifi mobile is running on different band altogether with unifi air. Unifi mobile is on band 5, 10Mhz, while band 40 is 20 Mhz. yes you can run unifi air on band 5, but the speed is damn slow. My house is not within the blue coverage area. But if you know the location of the transmitting tower, and u purchased LPDA with your modem, you can definitely improve your wireless broadband signal. Strong signal equals to consistent speed.

Thanks for sharing thumbup.gif
Could you share the total cost for the LPDA cost? Equipment cost, installation cost and service cost?

LPDA 1 unit is rm75.. need 2 so 75x2 = rm150

the bracket is the same for tv antenna.. around 8-10 ringgit.. the metal pole is around 10-15 ringgit.. all i bought from hardware shop..

no cost of installation as i did all by myself since I have all the tools (power drill etc).. just need chair/staircase to install

if you are not confident to install urself, maybe mytv@freeview installer can setup the pole everything for you..
*
Haha, i see. How do you setup so that it point correctly to the unifi base station tower?

any review on D-link DWR-920V,
it seem supported all unifi band.

but did the LTE locking function works?

Maybe can be used. TM is using a quite similar model for their existing telephone customer that do not want to upgrade to unifi fiber for area that TM want to discontinue all of their copper services.
But the difference is the model that TM used have RJ11 socket to connect with normal telephone, other features are absolutely the same
Performance wise dont know as telephone only use small bandwidth, around 128 kbps I think
